I was searching Yelp for lunch because my wife and I were looking for something different besides the usual Tex Mex, burgers... and I saw the good reviews, so we decided to try it. Wow. We were amazed at the quality of our 2 dishes (roasted peanut beef and garlic pork with kimchi). Both the freshness of the ingredients and the family recipes. It is in a small, unpretenious place but very clean and neat. We were the only customers while we were there and we were immediately greeted by the nice woman that took our order and then prepared our food from scratch. UPDATE: REPOSTING THIS! "Look... the people were really nice. However, the food was pretty rough. Barely any meat in the pho when taken to-go. the soup is not your typical pho, it was a weird variant and maybe i am unfamiliar with this style of pho, but it was truly disappointing. The serving size was so small for $20 per pho and it was $8 for 2 crummy spring rolls that had one shrimp cut in half for each spring roll. The other reviewer that said the peanut sauce was wack, was correct. it was not the normal sauce, it was some weird oil with peanut butter bits floating in it. The crab rangoons were not bad. I just really would not recommend this to someone who really loves pho." - I said this a month ago and took it down because the owner called to harass me questioning why I left a bad review. FOOD Crab Rangoon's were tasty - I've always thought these were just cream cheese in wonton wrappers and deep fried but you could actually taste the crab flavoring. They also served it with their homemade sweet and Sur sauce which was delicious! As for entrees we got the stir fry noodles with veggies and the Pho. Firstly, we had thought the pho was only on weekends but it is available EVERYDAY now! The flavors are SOO complex, and unlike any pho I've tasted before. And it's made completely form scratch/no MSG included... they had a side of jalapeño type peppers and Vietnamese peppers they are home grown. My husband loved it so much and he's kins a pho snob! The food was quite expensive and the place is hard to find. The gentleman taking the orders was very cordial and pleasant.

Only giving 2 instead of one cuz she stayed open until 8:10 to let us get our food but wow I wish she just said she'd be closed. We ordered rare beef pho to go and she put all the meets and the noodles in the same container so the noodles got mushy and the beef got hard and rubbery on the way back to our place. The broth just tasted like hot grease. The peanut sauce was basically just oil - no flavor. It was 30 minutes both ways to arrrive at a meth house looking place. They no longer have hamburgers, grilled cheese, or French fries, so it's Vietnamese food only, but it's amazing. The ingredients are so fresh! Quaint little restaurant, almost home-style. Ran by an older couple... I love the sweet tea. The food is amazing! Freshly cooked, I had the Roadrunner's Nest. I wish I had taken a picture but the presentation was so appetizing I forgot to. The dish is in a tomato base, hard noodles in a shape of a nest topped with 3 quail eggs. Very good. This mom and pop spot is delicious. My husband and I have been here about 5 times and have enjoyed it each time. The only item on the menu I did not care for was the roadrunner's nest. A friend recommended this place a couple of weeks ago! I decided to try it this week for lunch! First , the menu posted on Yelp must be outdated by years!!! I was there so I decided to try the food! I was the only person there at lunchtime! The Vietnamese lady was friendly enough! They appear to cook everything to order hence the one star! I ordered the "large order of shrimp fried rice" and an egg roll (1). $2.75 for one egg roll. I think the fried rice was like $8.99. So like $13 something with the tax! No problem except the large fried rice was about a nickel okay a dimes worth of perhaps jasmine or basmati rice! The shrimp what there was were these tiny frozen salad shrimp (tasteless) lots of peas (frozen I think) and so small a portion that I had to go buy lunch after that. The "menu" stated the price was $3.99. Finally I do not know who or why all these reviews were more than generous? To start, the food is Vietnamese style where the service in this place is spectacular. At the beginning I ordered some egg rolls, which I tell you, you can enjoy the vegetables in it because you feel how fresh they are, they really are made at home. The Garlic pork has a combination of herbs and spices that is extraordinary to the palate and the Wonton Soup is spectacular with that spicy touch but pleasant on the palate. Warning you have to wait for the food, the wait is not extreme, but it isn't worth, because everything is prepared at the moment, so keep prepared for good fresh food. Sitting here and thinking about it; I feel that the word shack was not really correct. It's a small simple place but it's nice and always very clean - perhaps not what that word might evoke. I would just say that if you have a large party you might want to do take out. I would also say I agree with the owner on another response - it wouldn't be safe to let your small child run around in here and other patrons wouldn't like that either. They don't have regular fish right now but they've got shrimp and the crab for those delectable Rangoon that I just had! read more

Everything is completely homemade and excellent. I had the fried spring roll, spring roll and the snow pea stir fry, which was excellent. The sweet and sour sauce is homemade and I could drink it !
