FINALLY tried this location after visiting it when it used to be a Marie Callender's Restaurant. Parking lot is big but it shares it with Los Vaqueros and it can become very limited so plan for lunch and dinner rushes. Atmosphere is fun: lots of country decor, animals on the wall and TVs for the sports fans. Service was top tier because it seemed like everyone on the staff is involved instead of one singular server. Even had a couple of the higher ups come around to check up on us which is always nice to let them know their team is doing a good job. Food is a little pricey, I had the Reuben sandwich and tried their house blend to wash it all down. It was very tasty. The restaurant was so nicely decorated and the music was enjoyable. To start, get the poke nachos, the chips were not oily and the ingredients were fresh. We then ordered the lunch special sirloin which came perfectly cooked at medium rare, the side of coleslaw was delicious, it had a horseradish taste to it that made it perfect. From the beginning we were greeted by the most helpful hostess. The place is clean and well maintained The food was great I had the Killer BLT and it was off the chain. The waitress which I don't have her name was very nice and helpful. The prices are reasonable. I wish I wasn't as full as I would have love to grab one of those blueberry muffins. Very impressed this time around. I've gone to this restaurant a good few times since it opened. I always found the food very tasty and the portion size adequate. What prevented me from coming here the last year or so was a server who was always very rude to me and my wife and any guest we brought along. He would also neglect our table and forgot things that we would ask for. However, I have not seen him around the last two times I came here. The price of the dishes has gone up since the last time I came but it's not a deal breaker. Rockin' K Ranch is such a pleasant surprise! It's in a super random area, but wow--what an amazing experience. The atmosphere is everything you'd want from a cozy, country-style cabin, and the food? Absolutely incredible. We started with the complimentary cornbread, which was warm and delicious, and the baked potato soup--comfort food perfection. The burger was hands down the BEST I've ever had, and the beer-battered fries were crispy and flavorful. The cherry on top (literally) was their pies. They had a wide selection for just $2 a slice! Our favorites were the banana cream and blueberry cream--both were out of this world. The service was equally fantastic. Jose was our server, and he was on it the whole time! Super friendly, attentive, and helpful, he really added to the experience. The ranch also has tons of parking, so no stress about finding a spot. We were there for dinner tonight to celebrate a good friend's retirement. We had 12 people in our group. The orders got a little mixed up, some people got the wrong drinks or the wrong sides. Our server did her best to fix everything and she was apologetic, sincere, and kind. Our side salads came out at the same time as our entrees, and again, our server apologized for the kitchen. But we were trying to focus on celebrating our friend, so we didn't make a big deal out of it. But when my wife cut into what was supposed to be a ribeye and was supposed to be cooked medium rare, it was more like a sirloin cooked medium well. We told our server the steak wasn't cooked the way my wife likes it, and she said she was sorry and took it back to get another steak prepared. Enter Manager Steve. He brought the steak back to the table and asked my wife if there was a problem with it. She said she ordered it medium rare and it was medium well. He said no, "that steak is perfectly cooked." When my wife said no it is not, manager Steve asked in a very rude and sarcastic tone, "would you like me to bring you a raw steak?" When my wife said no, I want a medium rare steak, he became aggressive, stood right next to her and over her and said, "Well I can cook you another steak but it will come out exactly like the last one because this is perfectly medium rare." My wife was so disgusted with Steve's rude and condescending behavior, that she just said "forget it, it's fine, just leave it," because she didn't want to make a scene at our friend's retirement celebration. Then she burst into tears and pushed her plate away. Everyone at our table saw the way Manager Steve treated my wife and they couldn't believe he was arguing with her and being so rude to her. Our server apologized and asked if she could bring us desert or anything else "on the house." I thanked her for her kindness but I declined and told her it wasn't her fault that her boss was a jerk. As we were getting ready to leave, another member of our party paid our bill because they felt bad about the way Manager Steve had spoken down to my wife. As we we were leaving we had words with Manager Steve, and at first we were very polite and told him we did not appreciate the way he spoke to and treated my wife. He was unapologetic, except to say he was sorry "we felt that way, but I did nothing wrong." The gentleman who paid our bill then called Manager Steve a weak little man, and he should be ashamed of the lack of customer service he showed us tonight. I asked him if he was proud of the way he spoke to my wife and made her cry, and again he stated he had done nothing wrong. I told Manager Steve that we have been coming to Rocking K Ranch since their original soft opening years ago, and have dropped hundreds if not thousands of dollars there since they opened, but after tonight we will NEVER be back. All he had to say was, "I'm sorry you feel that way." We didn't ask for a free meal, or a comp, or a discount, or a free dessert, all we wanted was a properly cooked steak, and they couldn't do that. I live and work in Hemet, and I will share this story with everyone I talk to. But from your attitude this evening, it is clearly evident that Rocking K Ranch does not care about their customers. I ordered a couple of meals for pickup. I wanted steak, and my husband wanted ribs. It was New Year's Day, and I didn't feel like cooking. We had ordered food from them a couple of years ago when we first moved here. The bill was $75+, I dont mind if it was expensive, but honestly, he food was not that good. I called our order in. I ordered the rib-eye steak, and my husband ordered the baby-back ribs. I was looking forward to the steak, and my husband was looking forward to his rib dinner. Once I got home, I warmed up the meals. Looking at them as I put them in the microwave for a few seconds. The ribs didn't look like baby backs. The steak didn't look like a rib-eye that I have ever seen, and the potato looked as if it had been sitting around for a long time ( It probably had), which didn't bother me as much as the meat. You can add butter and sour cream to a potato to make it taste better. I am a born and raised Nebraska girl, and steaks are a favorite of mine. Husband commented that the ribs were not any baby backs that he's ever seen; the bones were too thick. Commented that they almost looked like beef bones. His comment was that they tasted OK. Their pies are good! I didn't get one this time around, as I already had two at home waiting to be eaten.
