First off I should say we've dined here 3 times before and each of those I would consider 5 stars experiences, in fact I was surprised I hadn't already left a positive review when I started this one - but our most recent visit might give me hesitation to return. So for fairness I'll average it to 3 The main issue was the ribeye I ordered, when it arrived it looked like a grilled foot. Seriously. Like a weird wedge of beef. I questioned them, are you sure this is right? Maybe it's a sirloin or something? Where is the missing spinalis cap muscle makes a ribeye? The server took it back, returned to say it was an "end piece" but I've eaten hundreds of ribeyes and never had anything like the mutant on that plate. So they remade it, which took an extra 20+ min and it came out, after everyone else had finished eating, overcooked Medium Well not Medium Rare I ordered, and crust beyond char in a few spots. Also definitely wasn't 16oz portion. Not sure if the kitchen was pissed about remaking it or they just straight up suck but damn. They also undercooked my moms patty melt. My sons Mac n Cheese was fine but it took 30 min and 2 reminders to get ranch for his fries and they were cold by then, and it wasn't like they were slammed, the place was mostly empty. I don't know what happened yesterday, but please do better. I know you capable, and that's the only reason I might come back. read more

My family and I eat here at least once a week, sometimes more. The quality of the food has declined so bad, we have collectively decided to no longer eat here. I ordered a tuna melt that was burnt to a crisp. The bread crumbled when lifted, and I had to scrap the tuna off with a fork just to eat it. Our food overall is cold when served. Steaks and pot roast should not be cold. Vegetables are always cold as well. My daughter was served rancid meat and they argued with her that it was perfectly fine. She actually spit it out it was so bad. Last time I ordered pot roast, the portion was so small, I barely had any actual meat. The servers have shared with us that they have new cooks. My mom has had multiple problems with the salmon as well. They often leave lettuce cores in their salads too. This was our go to restaurant but its too expensive for the slop we are being served. Very disappointing. It's also very frustrating to have a server argue with you about your dining experience. If its burnt or cold, fix it. No one is looking for free food. Fried green beans have finally arrived!!! We were told our wait would be 5 minutes but it turned into 39 minutes at least. And that was after going up to the host and inquiring about being seated. We were taken to our table and received a glass of water right away then placed our order 5 minutes later. But we waited about 20 minutes before our fried green beans came and my husband's iced tea. When I asked about my iced tea, they realized I hadn't received it yet. When it came, I was shocked to find out it was an alcoholic drink. Not what I expected. So they took it back and brought me a regular iced tea. About-5 minutes later our food finally came, BUT we had to wait for silverware. Overall, the food was good and the service was good. But a restaurant this size should never tell their customers they were not expecting to be this busy. read more

I see why this place is ROCKING! It's so delicious. They have the best loaded fries on their appetizer menu, lots of fries and cheese, yum! I ordered the Swiss mushroom burger and it was so juicy and savory. The buns are soft and glorious at this place. I tried the cookies and they tasted great too, loved the chocolate that's used here. I'm definitely coming back! The service could've been slightly better, but the staff was still friendly and polite so I really appreciated that. I used to come here all the time when I first moved over to Hemet 5 years ago . Their prime rib is always good . The prime rib went up like 6 dollars. The feel of the restaurant I like . The 2 stars is for the service from waiters there I don't like. I'm not going to say names what I will say is that the waiters do not match the atmosphere of the restaurant and can be more attentive to customers. Lastly I never seen a waiter refuse a tip even if it's 1 dollar It's the thought that counts . read more

I have had 3 of Ken's Pies from Rocking K Ranch. I have not yet eaten a meal there. Their apple pie was super good and I usually never make/buy apple pie because usually apple pie is too bland for me, but theirs was VERY good. I have also had their Rhubarb and their Kalua Cheese Cake pies, which were good. The Oreo cookie crust on the Kalua pie was VERY thick and I thought overwhelmed the cheese cake flavor. first time there we went inside and ordered to go. it was awesome. then tonight I placed order online and my husband picked it up. 5 min after ordering we got a text it was ready. what my husband brought home was horrible! the beef dip had hardly any meat looked dry and like ithad been sitting for hours the bread was rock hard onion rings were hard and soaked with oil. pot roast was blah and had no flavor the vegetables were barely cooked at all. very disappointing. if you go there definitely order inside if you want your food edible. read more

Last night my family and I went to Rockin K for dinner. It will be the last time I go there. Server was ok. He tried to be funny and kept tossing things at us and to my son. I thought it was pretty rude after the second time. He favored the table behind us flirting with the girls ordering drinks. We kept having to flag him down for a refill or simple requests. We had to ask him to come back to order an appetizer because as soon as he got our drinks he walked away so fast. The worst part of the night which I'm still paying for... I order the special which is called pile of prime. It was DISGUSTING to say the least. It was a pile of mashed potatoes covered in steamed (microwaved) onions and mushrooms no sauce on them. Then a mountain of sliced prime steak I guess and then all of that is covered in brown gravy. When it came, I took one look and hoped it tasted better than it looked but no such luck. It was SO bland!! I added salt and pepper, didn't help at all the gravy was absorbed in the meat only and that didn't even have flavor. I moved it around in hopes to get some gravy on the potatoes but there was just way too many veggies to get to it. The veggies were definitely in a microwave because at the bottom of the plate, there was water surrounding the potatoes. Watery potatoes were so gross. After 3 bites I couldn't stomach it anymore. We called the waiter over and told him how bad it was and he decides to share with us that the pile of prime is made from all their prime cuts they don't sell over the weekend or the week and they slice it up and created pile of prime. Who knows how old that meat was. I have no idea why they are even selling that. They really went downhill so fast. I came home with a stomach ache and still feeling sick to my stomach today. I have always driven by this place and was curious as to how it looked and how the food tasted. As I walked into the restaurant I was greeted by a beautiful entrance and an even more beautiful interior. It was giving western cabin! There were beautiful light fixtures, wall decor, and tables/chairs. The staff here was also great and accommodating. I called day of and was able to get a reservation for 12 people! The staff also explained the menu to us and brought refreshments and complimentary cornbread. I tried their ribs and shrimp combo and let me tell you it was amazing. The ribs were so soft and so flavorful and the ribs were as well. My group also tried the tri-tip and various burgers and were more than satisfied. I'm new to town and have been working full-time, in-home care for my parents. I had a rare opportunity to sneak out for a while. After a brief search of nearby restaurants, I saw that Rockin' K Ranch was offering Prime Rib on Fridays and Saturdays. When I arrived I saddled up to the bar and was immediately met with a genuine smile and friendly bartenders, Jillian and Jainette. I was flanked at the bar by a mother/daughter pair (the junior, Nikki, works at the restaurant.) She recommended the Prime Rib highly so I went with that recommendation and was not let down im the least. Everything was cooked to perfection and certainly hit the spot. I also met Irvin, Nicole, and a few others. All on all, it transformed onto a memorable night. So much so that i came back for a drink the next night, just to keep that vibe alive. We both ordered ribeye steaks with sides. Onion rings and fruit were ordered as well. Ice tea, nice touch for sure. Meals arrived promptly and steaks looked amazing. However, after cutting into the steak and wanting to enjoy ...the steak was one of the toughest I have ever had. We have been coming to Rocking K Ranch for a while. Our favorite servers are Jessica, Melisa, Nikki, Pedro, Luis. Just about every server is great. Management is always walking around checking on tables. Even the staff that's picks up your plates are always so very nice. The food has always been good. It all depends what time you go. I think best time is 1-3 pm. The owner and his family are also very welcoming. He also owns Los Vaceros. One of my favorite spots in town. read more
