This place…read moreis nice, but I don't know what the architects were thinking when they decided on high ceilings. This place is a giant echo chamber. There is so much noise here. Even the receptionist at the information desk was loud when she was talking to a resident. She didn't even try to speak quietly. People can be heard laughing and carrying on, the sound of phones ringing and beeping from scanning books can be heard from the other side of the building. Not an ideal place to come if you are looking for silence. I am astounded by how many people come into a library and do not bother to turn their cell phones on silent. Every few minutes I was hearing someone's phone ring. As I sat in the computer area, almost every person who sat around me had their cell phone on. They do have a really nice children's section, but it would help if they closed the doors so you can't hear the children carrying on from the other side of the library.

They always have books for sale when you come in on your right and once every few months have their larger book fair. In addition to books and over five thousand DVD's in stock they have partition work offices you can work in. I want to say approximately five with a sliding door to make it a little more private as well. I have been to the Horsham Library and the Abington Library in the past month and my preference at this time I would have to say is the Horsham Library. As always people SYOY!!!

They're not replacing them with new books. They are apparently using the space to "feature" a book by standing it up face-out. Is this a store or a library? The science fiction/fantasy and mystery sections have been cut down by at least half (not even taking into account the fact of the remaining shelves being half empty.) It's so sad. Librarians used to be people who loved books.

I hope this review will prevent you from wandering into the elementary school at the old address, like I did. For parking, there are two handicapped spots and 6 regular spots in the front. Sort of hidden in the back of the building there are 11 more spots. If those are taken, you're left to fend for street parking on narrow streets in the vicinity. If you want to come here to get work done on your laptop, seating with nearby outlets is limited, and there are no quiet spots in here, so you'll need high tolerance from library banter coming from the kid area, front desk, and the section where they are playing mahjong and other such games. There's a chess board, unfinished jigsaw puzzles, and comfy old style furniture around. Basically, this place is more geared towards a community center type of place for socializing rather than a "heads-down", getting work done type of place.

However, I went to another party here where they did go out on the truck and the kids loved it. These guys are all volunteers and they do an awesome job. The space is big enough for 40-50 people plus kitchen to prep your food and desserts, and the cost for a 3-hour party is reasonable ($150 bucks I think?). And it is great to know you are donating to the local fire company. We also support Wyndmoor Hose Co by getting our Christmas trees from them and attending their annual carnival in June.

This library seriously needs to be updated. It still looks the same since at least the 80s. With budget cuts, the library is closed a lot at night and weekends. Sad. The best thing about E.P. library is there monthly book sale. People donate so often, that there are always new things to look at. Plus, it's like Black Friday. People line up in the cold and run to grab as many books as possible. Watch out for the creeps who have the scanners to check for resale value. Not cool to block aisles or build stacks of books 20 deep. Some of us actually like to read them.
