This place is pretty bad...I don't recommend. I was in a bind since I have a very busy work week and my normal place was completely booked over the weekend. I came for a no chip mani and regular pedi yesterday. It hasn't even been 24 hours and one of my "no chip" nails is already bubbling/chipping. The lady was rude, the place didn't have any sort of ambiance or relaxing vibes, looked kinda clean but still so far below the standards that I'm used to. Outside of the nail that's already bubbling/chipping the rest of the mani/pedi quality was just mediocre. I haven't had service this bad in years....makes me think twice about the little things I sometimes don't like at other places....even on their worst days they are 10 times better than this dump. I won't ever be returning--please save your money and time. *UPDATE* -- I called every single day for 5 days in a row after getting my nails done and no one picked up the phone. I also drive past there on a daily basis and no one is ever there. I was starting to wonder if they suddenly went out of business...but no they're just a terrible business with even worse customer service. Today when I drove by, I saw someone there so I parked and stopped in to explain what happened and see if they could fix it. They didn't want to let me in, but finally did and immediately dismissed me and asked me to leave. That obviously kissed me off even more so I decided to do what any mild-manned professional millennial would do...hit record. I have passed this nail shop almost daily but yesterday was my first mani pedi here and it was better than I expected. I had no problem getting a 645 appt. even when I called the day of. Even better, they were ready as soon as I arrived. They have an expansive array of colors, both OPI and Essie and top of the line pedicure chairs. The chair massage is...ummmm...thorough :). My nail tech was fantastic. It is a small operation but they are extremely attentive in catering to their customers. The shop closed at 8pm but that did not change the attention to my nails, my tech worked on me until almost 830pm. I was beyond pleased with the results. The entire staff was patient and focused on providing excellent service. This spot is also BYOB and has lots of daily specials. I received a $27 pedicure from this location on saturday morning. I called when they opened and scheduled an appointment for 30 minutes later. The service was professional, neat and time effecient. They have a coat rack to put ur belongings, the bathroom was clean and also offered free white/red wine. 2wks later, my pedicure still looks good. I get highly frustrated when establishments don't inform you prior to a service being performed that their is an additional cost if you use your credit or debit card. Well this company did not have a sign posted or any form of indication noted that additional charges would be incurred by using your debit or credit card. I wish we had more shops to select from when it comes to nail services because the location of this company is ideal but the professionalism here sucks. I was hoping this would be my neighborhood go to spot, but although it's clean and modern, the good ends there. The staff especially the owner are super unfriendly. The vibe is not welcoming. I made an appointment and when I came in she still looked at me like "what are you doing here?" Which is the same look she gives walk ins. Yes you're busy, but there's a way to keep customers coming back, unfriendly isn't the way. I usually get a vinyl lux mani that lasts over two weeks, so I asked about an up charge for vinyl lux. She said there wasn't one, but that she recommends opi shine which is better and lasts 10 days, but costs $5 more. Fine by me, like I said, my manis last forever so an extra $5 is nothing. Here's where the real drama ensued...my nails chipped not 24 hours after, so I returned to the salon because I specifically asked about their guarantee. So I go back and try and be polite because it was busy and like I said, I was hoping this would be my spot in the Sloop. She told me she couldn't make an appointment for me, but that I'd have to come back that day (it was about 2:45.) So I asked how long it would be if I waited, and her response was "I don't know, we're busy, but maybe someone can do you in between other people." Okay so I waited almost an hour before someone who was obviously there only to polish started my nails. The owner said "pick a color", so I picked a nude because of the chipping issue. So the polish girl takes off my polish and the owner says "you shouldn't have taken off the polish on all only on the chipped ones" which basically was 8/10 nails. So anyway the girl is almost done polishing and the owner comes over and says "I have to charge you for a polish change because that isn't the same color." So I said "you never told me to choose the same color and I chose a different one in case the same thing happened again." To which she continued to argue with me. So long story short, super rude owner, terrible service and my polish change redo chipped within 24 hours again. So there's that. read more

So, I called this place as I was driving past on my way to another nail salon actually just to see if they were decent enough to go there instead. Asked "How much for an acrylic fill in?" The woman on the phone responded "it's 24 dollars." I turned at the next light and came back and parked on the side, may have taken all of four minutes. Walked in... spoke to the SAME person I just spoke with on the phone... "Oh, we don't offer artificial services here" .... I was in desperate need for a manicure and decided to stop by because they had an opening and I was in the neighborhood. It took me by surprise that the tech stood up the entire time she did my nails. It actually made me uncomfortable. I didn't like the bar set up because it was uncomfortable to sit at and have your own space. I've only been here once but my experience was wonderful! Rose gave me an amazing no chip manicure. She took her time shaping my nails just right and meticulously painting them until they were perfect. 3 weeks later and my no chip is just finally starting to look shabby. Typically I get about a week and a half out of a no chip at other salons. Prices are comparable to other Chicago salons, the store is cute and clean, and I saw little snacks and wine in the waiting area which is nice. Minus 1 star for the snooty guy at the reception desk and the fact that they were playing Disney channel on the TVs when there were no children in the salon. read more

I have been coming here since it opened and have always had great service! It is definitely the best place in the area. It is clean and professional. Natalie always does a great job with my nails and we always have great conversation! The techs always take their time to make sure things are done right. If you are planning on coming in, make sure to call and make an appointment. There are usually 2-3 techs working at a time and the place is always busy no matter what time I come in. I have observed walk-ins being extremely rude to the staff when they can not be instantly accommodated. I usually check Yelp reviews before going to places, but I'm glad I didn't this time because some of the reviews on here seriously make me think they went to a different place. I am very picky about my nails and this is the first place in Chicago I have found that I truly love. First: They have massage chairs! Second: All of the nails techs are friendly and never rush their time with you. They pay very close attention to detail and do an excellent job! Third: They have wine. Fourth: They have great hours for those of us that work, and I have never had trouble getting an appointment the day of. I have never had to wait when I have an appointment because they seem to schedule technicians according to how busy they are. The busier they are the more nail techs that are there. Fifth: It is street parking BUT parking is rarely hard to find in that neighborhood and is free after 6. I'm sure I could go on and on with great things to say. I was here in town for work at the McCormick Place and was badly in need of a full set after spending two days setting up for a trade show. My nails, fingers and hands took a beating. I called and Natalie was super flexible and patient with me especially since my scheduling kept changing. Michael, the nail tech, who worked on my nails was equally nice and super quick. I was in and out of there in about 45 mins. I love the modern decorations! They have this awesome semicircle bar-like counter that seats five or six people. Very unique, unlike traditional nail shops where you sit at "stations." The pedicure area had comfortable massage chairs with really cool-looking remote controls. If I had more time or if the weather was warmer, I would've loved to have gotten a pedicure too. My wife works in the area, she wasn't finished so I had time on my hands looked at em, and said to myself I need a manicure & pedicure! I google, check out a few places this one had weak reviews but still thought try it anyway and decided to call for services. They said 10 minutes, fine. I get there attempt to open the door all the technicians were busy, I then noticed a small hand written sign far below eye level that said please use the buzzer. I should have known then it's going to be interesting and somewhat sub par. Got buzzed in and abruptly barked at by the woman who owns the place, I think "what do you want?"has she ever heard the phrase "may I help you?" I explain I just called and she said a few more minutes by this time were pushing 25 min past the time stated. The entire time I hear this woman speak loudly in her native language to the employees then morph into an urban black-Hispanic accent like she watched too many episodes of New York undercover while she's taking care of her clients who were "urban". Hey for all I know she could be from the housing projects I peeped on same block. She had me dying," oh gurl wha, das rite! " Finally, I'm holding belly to keep from laughing when a very sweet woman starts my service. She got her head cut off by this manager / owner woman. It always makes me uncomfortable to witness any person being reprimanded by their "boss". Can't tell you what she said since it was in here language. As a bilingual person who works in management it's pretty rude to speak in your tongue in group settings loudly this woman should stop it immediately. This pedicure was solid, I get about one per month and the tech was pretty good and so was the manicure. As for all the unneeded stress that came with service, they have lost my business. My go-to technician, Rose, is amazing but the manager is absolutely terrible. She has a serious attitude problem, very short when you're trying to make an appointment and never accommodating. After being a client for the past 4 months, I finally said something to her since everyone can have a bad day; was I met with an apology, no. She got very defensive, attempting to justify being rude for no reason and said well going forward you don't have to speak to me, huh? Wait, what??? If you're okay with being treated poorly then this is the spot for you, as there's really no way around interacting with her. I went in for a no chip manicure about an hour and fifteen minutes before close. I called in advance and they told me this was fine. I arrived and waited about 10-15 minutes, which was fine. There was wine on the tables, but no one offered me anything. I was excited because they use stools and a high bar for manicures, and it looked really well done. As soon as the woman started my nails, I could tell she was rushing. She kept checking the time and wave her hands and me when I didn't move fast enough to switch hands. She rushed through the entire process so much that there was nail polish on my cuticles and the no chip was on the sides of my fingers as well. I tried to be polite as I was there and thought maybe it wasn't that bad. I was charged $45, which I thought was a little pricey. The next day, 2 of my nails were already peeling off. Unfortunately, I had to go out of town and had no way to go back and have them fix it. By the fifth day, almost all of my nails had peeled off. This place is close to work and looking for somewhere to pop in on my way home. I got a no chip manicure and it took over 90 minutes for a removal and no chip. Normally it takes under an hour for both. Additionally, the color more "peachy" than the sample. I asked why and was told it's because of people touching the samples. The color wasn't my favorite but I didn't have the time to have her re do it since it was already taking way longer than my other place. I was also cut during manicure part - that happens - however it was very painful. During my 90 minutes I heard a bunch of people call in for appointments.
