Had high hopes for this place but have to be honest...both BF and I agreed that it's like a 3.5…read more Portions are rather small, prices are high and the wait is long. The menu is very limited and there are so many upcharges. I do appreciate the happy hour pricing on weekends too though. Presentation is nice though. I ordered the confit wings $20 and they were really dry and so very un-confit like. I wanted to try 2 different sauces so the server said I can only do that if I get them on the side. But I know other places have much crunchier, juicier wings even plain. The sauces were just okay. No side of ranch and wish there were some carrots thrown in. Bonus points for having some fun board and card games stocked that you can borrow from the front! That was neat! BF is friends with a worker here and he was great! He was effusive, warm, solicitous and really helpful. If we go back here, it'll be for the brunch since that menu looked more interesting. I've been here in 2024 for The Watson speakeasy as well so very familiar with the area.

First day having an appetite after a bug I decided to meet a buddy for a couple drinks and my dinner. Everything was fine until a couple bites into my Butcher Burger, wtf is this? Wax paper from the cheddar cheese. Cooking and grilling 101... DO NOT KEEP WAX PAPER (or whatever the hell it is made of not to mention all the other crap that I'm sure reacts well to heat and oven temps) DO NOT KEEP WAX PAPER ON CHEESE TO CONSUME AND CERTAINLY NOT ON A GRILL. Fantastically disgusting texture that takes a second to say "wtf was that" as you're conversing with your buddy. The server/bartender did her best, but the manager... well I just said out loud, "I've got Crohn's disease, I don't know what'll happen with that!" "Oh you'll be okay." Are you a doctor? A gastroenterologist? Any kind of digestive expert? No. After getting free two or three bites of a burger a losing any appetite I finally got back, I got a free Coors banquet! My buddy and I met there to have a couple drinks so I did pay for two mixed drinks and his beer, fighting the nausea that was ensuing, since I just ate cheese paper. Then the best Christmas gift of all, finally succumbing to the nausea and throwing up whatever would come up. Utterly fantastic Christmas Eve Eve.

I was long overdue for a girl's night out so I met a good friend here after work one night this…read moreweek. She picked it because she was going to be in the area. I've never been here before but I know it's a fairly popular place so I was quick to agree to the location. We originally sat at the bar but the stools were so incredibly uncomfortable, so we moved to a booth. While our server was nice, it did take her quite a while to come take our drink order. I got a "lavendar breeze" for my first drink and it was delicious. The menu is small, with the focus being on grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm not a huge grilled cheese lover, so I ordered a wedge salad (with house white French dressing) and the sauerkraut balls from the appetizer menu. The salad was on par with what you'd expect, the dressing was tasty. The sauerkraut balls, though, kind of threw me. First, it's a HUGE serving. There was around 30-40 sauerkraut balls in the basket; way more than I ever imagined would be in an order. I was expecting four or five golf ball sized balls. Maybe I've been spoiled by having some fantastic sauerkraut balls, but these were subpar, at best. They didn't have a lot of flavor and the cocktail sauce they served with them was an odd choice. While I still enjoyed time catching up with a friend and the drinks were well done, I doubt I'll come back for food. The menu just wasn't appealing to me and what I did have wasnt good enough to lure me back anytime soon.

Very good, maybe a tad dry. A good Aioli was needed. A couple of beers and that was that. Good service. I will return for a slower paced night out.

The exterior of the building is not much to look at, but inside they have really made it charming. The entrées we chose were the classic eggs, Benedict and the quiche. At first, I thought they were quite pricey, when the entrées came out, the portion sizes are enormous. It is always very busy I'm told, but it is worth the wait.

Parking is very crowded, but you can usually park at nearby businesses. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and given the option of waiting about 20 minutes for indoor seating or sitting outside with heaters. We chose outside. Even though it was raining, the heaters kept it comfortable and it was still a nice experience. The biggest issue was the wait for the food. It took about an hour for our meals to arrive. The staff was very apologetic and explained they were having issues, which we appreciated, but an hour is still a long wait. This was especially noticeable because the restaurant's website mentions that, due to limited space, guests are asked to limit their stay to about 75 minutes. The inside of the restaurant also felt very congested because of the front entrance layout and the constant flow of people coming in. One suggestion would be to add the bakery items directly to the menu so guests can easily order them with their meals instead of having to ask separately. Our server was very nice, and the food itself was good. I ordered the hash with scrambled eggs and a coffee, while my wife had a pot of tea and the Croque Madame. They also had specials available, but we decided to keep it simple. Sorry, no pictures -- we forgot to take them. Overall, the prices were slightly higher than normal for similar places we've visited.
