We ordered take-out from Los Girasoles online from the hotel across the street from the Stow location, but accidentally specified the location in Kent. The staff VERY kindly arranged a refund for the Kent order even though the food there was already prepared. The food we subsequently ordered from this Stow location was fantastic and the portions were very generous. I tried the birria pizza, which was a unique mash-up and was very satisfying. The rest of my group were beyond happy (and STUFFED) on the mixed fajitas, taco salad, and pollo loco. Our special requests were accurately handled, and our order was ready to go very quickly. We ate in our hotel room, but while ordering and waiting for pick-up, I could see this was a hopping location with a friendly atmosphere and a lot of happy customers. I was a little wary when I saw the list of combinations was identical to the many mediocre places all along the east coast. The usual giveaway is if the lunch menu includes a Speedy Gonzales, which means almost every thing is shipped in. The street tacos and the specials may be better since they require more than heating up. I mistakenly got the special combo which is one of about everything. Ground beef taco was soggy on the side lying beside the tostada in the lettuce run-off and the ground beef didn't seem to have any seasoning. The same with the enchilada. The chicken in the burrito was a good portion but dry and underseasoned! The chile relleno was passable, cheese filled, and about the best thing out of the whole mess! $16 on the website, $21 delivered and barely warm! The driver was very pleasant! Our neighbors recommended it and I saw it on the back of every Giant Eagle receipt all the time. Maybe living in Texas for 5 very hot years spoiled me for most Tex-Mex but I will keep looking. This place definitely deserves 4.5 stars for being one of the better Mexican restaurants we've been to in the Akron/Cleveland areas. Our servers were super upbeat, friendly and helpful. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their entrees. We all also really liked the chips, salsa and cocktails! I'd give this place a 4.5 if it was available! Truly nothing bad to say here. Service was IMPECCABLE- felt so well taken care of from the moment we walked in on a taco Tuesday. Everything we needed was brought out correctly and quickly. Loved the homemade salsa. I have a tendency to order birria tacos everywhere I go and these did not disappoint. Fabulous sauce and amazing queso. The steak was so well flavored. Great margarita choices as well. On the way out the host told us that the fresh margaritas have FOUR shots of tequila in them so beware - that's insane and a lot of alcohol!! No complaints but just be careful since this is not advertised. My husband got a blackberry mojito and it was incredible. Absolutely will be back and will likely visit the Kent location as well! My wife and I have been coming here for years and we couldn't say enough about the quality of the food, the great service we always get, and the overall cheery atmosphere! The menu has changed since I first came here in 2017, but the food seems to get better each time we return. My go-to used to be the Courthouse burrito (renamed the Triple Play), and I've enjoyed the street tacos as well as their chicken chimichanga. My most recent discovery was the chicken chimichanga--so delicious! The chicken was nice and tender and the flavor of the crispy tortilla wrapped around it was incredible! My rice was nice and fluffy instead of dry or mushy and I requested black beans (I don't care for refried)--all very flavorful and delivered hot. Oh--and I can't forget to mention their Holy Guacamole! It came served in a large bowl and I asked for the cubed mango--so fresh, chunky and very tasty! Our server this last visit was so pleasant and attentive, just like everyone else we've had in the past. It was his first day on the job, but you'd never know it. I might also note that we like coming here for the food and service, but it's also very clean. We were happy to bring our out-of-town family here a couple years ago and they, too enjoyed their visit. It was a large group of nine of us (we called ahead)--and the food and service were just as we expected. We had a good time at this restaurant. Lots of space and a separate bar with low room noise that made it easy to talk. We had dinner with two other couples. Free chips and salsa at the table. Both were solid if unspectacular. The peach margarita (frozen) was great. Possibly my favorite marg ever. I also really enjoyed the camarones a la diabla. A good amount of heat and plenty of shrimp. She had chicken fajitas and really like how the chicken came out; piping hot and juicy. Dropped a star for very slow service in getting orders taken and drinks delivered. Decided to check this place out during my stay in Ohio. Heard great things about their birria tacos, so gave it a try. For $15.99, it comes with a choice of rice/bean and 3 decent sized birria tacos with sauce to dip in. First few bites were truly amazing, but they are little bit too greasy as you eat more and more that I think the sufficient amount is max 2 tacos. Anyways, the taste was good still! Los Girasoles is a rebrand of Salsitas which was in this same location for years. They spruced everything up and replaced much of the kitchen equipment while keeping the same friendly staff as before. Honestly pretty disappointed in this place. I originally came to get some guacamole and I received what seemed like old guac that I'm not even sure if they made. I ate some of it and honestly felt like gagging... I think I might have even spit it out. It also contained milk too apparently which shows it might have been pre-packaged. I don't really want to eat at a place where the food is not fresh. That kind of personally defeats the whole point of paying more for some food. And the guac was really the only thing I really wanted that day. Very surprising because I've been to the restaurant in Kent and that one was amazing. I also called them to ask if they had dairy in their guacamole and they told me NO. I eat here more often than any other Mexican restaurant because they have the best flan and churros and cheaper regarding the portion of each meal. Shrimp chimichanga has small shrimps so I recommend getting chicken or beef. Carnitas is very good. I love their tortillas. All the meals taste salty (as we except for Mexican food ) but not spicy.
