Been here many times since I stay at the Marriott quite often. Food is overpriced and the service is consistently sloooooooooooooow!

I've never eaten here but have stopped in for beer several times. Very good local beer list and good service at the bar.

My dad came here about 10 years ago while visiting some friends in the area, and wanted me to try…read moreit. It did not hold up to standards from last time, but was still fairly good. Pawleys Front Porch is a dive bar, and has been featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We arrived about 15 minutes after they opened, and were the first to arrive. Even after us being in the restaurant for an hour, only two other parties arrived to dine. It honestly felt like a ghost town, and hope that it is not like this every day. Their fried pickles are actually pretty good! They are crispy, hot, and have a good dill taste (good pickles). The chicken tenders are good! They aren't frozen, are crispy, and have good taste. The burger was supposed to come with a pretzel bun, but apparently they haven't had a pretzel bun in three years lol. Why is it still on the menu? We don't know. His burger was a bit overcooked and toppings weren't quite as high quality as last time. Our server was wonderful, and constantly came around to refill our drinks and get us anything we need. It did take a bit of a long time for our food to come out, but that's alright. As long as the food is good we don't mind. We hope to see the restaurant return back to how good it used to be!

We waited an hour or more because they said there was only one cook. We got our burgers (ordered medium) and they were completely overcooked. I wondered if mine was even beef. I stabbed the meat with my plastic knife and lifted the whole rock solid patty puck. Cocktail was decent and they stock Fever Tree ginger beer so stay with the cocktails.

I usually get the strawberry pancakes and it hits every time. Really good coffeee and cute mugs. One of the better places to go for breakfast in columbia with very reasonable prices. Trenholm plaza is beautiful, where even with a wait there's enough to do to pass the time!! Classic spot, 10/10, can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

My friends had a similar impression of their meals, stating that they were "fine", but didn't really "hit the spot" per se. I also got a plain bagel and a side of bacon, which I can definitively say were below average, and simply not very good. As for the ambiance, it was pretty basic, but enjoyable nonetheless. I liked the thematic artwork on the walls, which displayed pancakes and other breakfast items without coming across as goofy or silly. In addition, I loved how the menu had a section titled "What are Pancakes?", which detailed the history of pancakes and the restaurant as a whole, which I thought was a nice little touch. I also loved their old-fashioned coffee mugs, which are difficult to find these days, despite their higher level of quality and effectiveness. Finally, our server was sweet and did a pretty good job of checking up on us. Overall, I'd say that the Original Pancake House was pretty average and wasn't really anything better than I could've gotten at a chain restaurant like Waffle House or Denny's. I may come back in the future, but I wouldn't make it a priority, nor would it be at the top of my list.

I didn't expect it to be a boneless breast. Dark meat would've given it more flavor. The potatoes were flavorful and creamy. The collard greens were too acidic for me. Cornmeal Fried N.C. Catfish (3/5): The catfish wasn't anything special but the grits were very good. Lots of flavor and good texture. The collard greens were too acidic for me. Fried Adluh Yellow Grit Cakes (3/5): Would've been a lot better if it was fried more and had a crispier exterior. The herb goat cheese was good, but there was a little too much of it. Loved the roasted garlic (great for spreading on the complimentary bread!) Buttermilk Fried Shrimp (2/5): Only came with 4 shrimp. The shrimp itself wasn't very meaty and it also wasn't fried long enough. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

I'm pretty sure the kids licked the bowl clean. Kids Chicken Nuggets - 6 crispy nuggets with a side of choice. Thick breading but good portion and taste. Crinkle fries were a bit hit for this little one. Enjoyed the fries with ranch. Lone Star Brisket Sandwich - Smoked brisket, house-made pickles, and slaw. Brisket looked delicious but was a bit dry and lacked seasoning. The pickles, slaw, and BBQ sauce delivered the moisture and flavor. Smoked Half Chicken - Smaller chicken quarter but tender and moist. Still lacking flavor counting on the BBQ sauce. Had the mac-and-cheese and fries as a side. Mac was cheesy but again dry. Saint Louis Pork Ribs - Good portion but again on the flavor - heavily reliant on the sauce. Sweet tea was perfect and the pickles were delicious! Service wasn't the best; refills were hard to get. I think next time we will avoid a chain and find a hole-in-the-wall establishment.
