On a beautiful Saturday morning, my husband and I decided to eat out for breakfast. We had passed this restaurant a couple of times and decided to stop in and try it. The customer service was great. The weight staff was very attentive. The menu was fantastic and included breakfast and brunch items. There's also a bar on site in case you want a mimosa or other cocktail. We enjoyed shrimp and grits and a breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns and a delicious sausage. We are certainly excited to go back to this place again. Highly recommend!

Abby was the bomb very nice and friendly remind me of little cuz. She took care of us made sure we were all good. The food was good the turkey sausage wasn't as good as the chicken sausage but they both were good. The French toast was decent a little hard but nothing some syrup can't fix. The espresso was very good but strong but worth it. I saw a lot of people with the mimosas float it looked good maybe that's something you can try all flavors. Looked very popular. The ambiance is very nice but a little small. I get it for overhead maybe but they are very popular and good because the wait was 35-45 minutes so either try for reservations if they take them or be prepared for the wait. The waitress said Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday it can be busy and they're only open into 2:30 for breakfast or brunch it's a W for the win.

When we arrived, there was a 30-minute wait, but we only waited for about 15 minutes on a Saturday. The prices are very reasonable, especially compared to New York. There's room for groups, but you might want to make a reservation if you're there on the weekend. The ambiance is a Spanish music vibe, not too loud, just right. The decor is nicely done. I really like the good food. The espresso martini was strong. The chicken and turkey sausage was delicious, and the eggs were cooked just right. Both the churro and cinnamon take-French toast were good. The cinnamon was a bit too sweet. The waitress Abby was very nice, attentive, and sweet. I definitely recommend.

My first time at this location. I will say this brand is consistent. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was consistently great! The flavor in the cinnamon bread really pulls the sandwich together paired with perfectly cooked home fries. I also ordered the banana foster waffle as it's a fav flavor of mine. I was nervous as the menu says must be 21. I assumed the rum flavor would be overpowering. It wasn't. It was good. Very good and served hot. It did make my waffle soggy in the middle even though I ate it immediately. Service was good! Very pleasant and attentive. Restaurant is always clean and beautifully decorated. Gives an upscale vibe

Came in on a Saturday around 1145am was told there was a 70min wait, a large party was leaving and the restaurant was mostly cleared there were plenty of empty tables and they were barely filling them with names from the waiting list and as we continued to wait, basically to see what was going on they started telling people that were coming in that is was a hour wait but still we're not sitting people. This was my first and will be my last time visiting this place.. I can not understand why they were not sitting people and I saw plenty of staff walking around and the tables were already cleaned so this was very bad service

My first experience with this location was an absolute pleasure. Our food was served at great temperature. The atmosphere has a calming vibe that's very appealing. The waiter was knowledgeable and helpful with the menu choices. Definitely a great addition to the Northeast sector of town. I recommend you visit soon!

Bacon/Spinach Omelette with Fruit for the side.

I had my first experience at Breakfast at Ruiz was today. I was very excited to see that the stars ratings were so low. I had a warm welcome, excellent service, and my food and coffee were excellent. My food (the Bacon/Spinach Omelette) came from the kitchen hot and very attractive. All the dishes I watched coming from the kitchen were pleasing to the eye. You could hear the whispers of the customers trying to figure out what the dishes were every time food came from the kitchen. There were several people celebrating birthdays today and the staff was eager to accommodate them. They made sure my coffee cup was never empty. I received EXCELLENT service. The restaurant was busy and bussing. I looked around and at one point there wasn't an empty table, but that didn't keep them from doing a great job. I would definitely recommend Breakfast at Ruiz for a breakfast or brunch. I will be going back for SURE!

First time NO COFFEE....waitress laughed and said coffee machine broke. The food was served cold and bland; nothing special. Waitress never came around to see if we needed anything. Finally had to get up and go to counter to ask for assistance. Twice now the waitress either ignored us or was blind to us being there. Second time our food must have sat out waiting to be served and was cold and obviously dried out. Waitress was too busy chatting it up with another table, served three other tables that came in after us, talking on phone all whilst we sat ignored and waited ...watched ....waited ....waited and waited while our food sat waiting to be picked up and brought to our table. Absolutely unacceptable. Waitress needs training.

Unfortunately, this visit just wasn't it. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere, which was fine. A server came by to take our drink order, only to let us know they were out of both drinks we originally wanted. No big deal--we pivoted. But then my sweet tea came with Splenda and no spoon to stir it, and silverware never made an appearance at all. What really sealed it, though, was the service--or lack of it. Another server spent close to 20 minutes chatting with a table about something completely unrelated to the restaurant while we sat there unnoticed. During that time, three separate parties were seated after us and were promptly given menus, silverware, and attentive service. We were never checked on again. After sitting there watching everyone else be taken care of, it became pretty clear we weren't going to be served that day. So we got up and left. I always hate sharing experiences like this because I truly want local businesses to succeed. But service matters just as much as the food, and sadly, this visit missed the mark entirely.

The establishment is is spacious and they have tables both inside and outside and are decked out in USC pride. I can totally see this being a college hangout spot. The menu is never ending and it's soooo hard picking which bagel sandwich sounds best because soooo many sounded good. And then after you pick your sandwich you have to pick your bagel! Do yourself a favor and look at the menu before coming in so you already know exactly what you'll try. Since I came with a friend we decided to to try two different bagels and the staff here were nice enough to cut them both in half to make it easier for us to share. The bagels were messy but you could tell they were freshly made and so good! We ended up sharing the ridgeland and neighborino. I loved them both but I want to say I loved the neighborino a smidge more. While living here this will definitely become a regular spot and prices here were more than fair for the portions and freshness.

Whenever I'm traveling locally I check to see if there is one in my path. We were on our way to Columbia for a trip to the planetarium so we stopped on the way up for Lunch at Sully's. When I first discovered them, they had a sandwich on the menu called The Heater, the last place I went to was familiar with it, but this location was not. That didn't mean they weren't willing to make it for me though. I don't know if I ordered it exactly right, but the woman taking my order and I walked our way through it... the sandwich was delicious either way. This time I also got to try The Griswold (Turkey, bacon, provolone, pepper jack, lettuce, bbq & parm-peppercorn) and it might be a new favorite. This location is bigger than others I've been to. They had a bunch of tables inside and a large communal area outside with turf and a bunch of seating. Someone was even having a birthday party out there. Now I want to have a Sully's Steamers bday party too!

They have reopened with more space and now have switched things to a buffet style restaurant. We had a party of six go today for lunch. Their hours are now from Friday - Sunday, 11AM - 8PM, and offer a full buffet )$18.95) or a Meat & Three or Meat & Two options. You can also order alacarte if you desire. They had a huge selection..Fried Chicken, Chicken with bacon, Brisket slices, Fried Pork tenderloins, Collards, green beans, lima beans, corn, black eyed peas, mash potatoes/gravy, banana pudding and peach cobbler along with a full salad bar. I've probably left off several things. Needless to say there's quite a selection. I tried a fried chicken breast. It was very good, crispy and not dry. Went well with the mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The collards and green beans were also good. I wasn't a big fan of the brisket. It was hard to cut with the knife that they'd given me, but it did have a good taste. I probably wouldn't order that again. I also didn't care for the peach cobbler as much as I usually do. The salad bar had two types of lettuce and quite a large choice for dressings. They also had a broccoli salad which was very runny and not as good as I would've thought. The lighting could be improved over the buffet items as it was hard to tell what some of them were. They had signs in front of the items on the glass but not everything was listed..having to ask what many were. I was a big fan of Southern Mama's at the other smaller site where they served regular sit-down and order from the menu. The buffet format just didn't impress me as much. You move down the line and the staff would take your tray and load it with whatever you picked. Then you sit at a table and the waitress will bring you your drink and often checks on you to see if you need anything else. Service was good. The opinion from my friends: Four of us had chicken. Two of us liked it, two didn't. The vegetables and sides were all good. The beets from the salad bar were just so-so, not great. Broccoli salad wasn't popular with two of us. I don't know if I'd go back for the buffet. I'd prefer to order just the chicken, mashed potatoes and Gravy as a meal. From what I've heard it can get busy on a Sunday. We arrived at 11:30 (Saturday) and there was plenty of room, but by 12:30 it was starting to build up a line to get in.

I've had many yucca fries and these are the best. They're crispy and the sauce it comes with is perfection. I prefer the bowls over the sandwiches to minimize carbs. You can't go wrong with any of them. Key lime pie: I'm ordering this again. This Keylime pie beats any Keylime pie in the Key West. I like that the custard has some lime shavings for texture. I also appreciate that they use meringue instead of whipped cream. The dessert is perfectly tangy. Chocolate cake: it's a really good chocolate cake. It's such a simple dessert yet not everyone gets it right. I personally prefer the Keylime pie, but for the chocolate lovers, this might be the best chocolate cake. Santiago cake: a high protein cake with almond and eggs. I actually make this at home often but I wanted to compare mine with the restaurants. The texture was good, but it had a refrigerator taste to it which I didn't like.
