Not happy with the service Rock's provided. Unfortunately. I called on Friday to place an order for a small hoagie tray to be delivered today. The young lady on the phone said it would be $45 plus tax. My boss wanted to know the full total with the tax and delivery fee so I called again this morning to get the amount. A gentleman answered the phone this time. I asked him if he could give me the total with the tax and delivery fee and he said, "It's $45 plus tax." Okay... I asked about tax AND the delivery fee. So he says, "Well, let me get my calculator." He was speaking as if I was inconveniencing him. He said, "It'll be $47.70 and I'm not sure if they're charging a delivery fee." I told my boss that the gentleman I spoke to wasn't sure if there would be a delivery fee applied to the order. She asked me to call back to speak to a manager. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told the manager wasn't there and that they would have to return our call later. They finally called back and said it was $47.70 and when we asked about the delivery fee, there was a moment of silence and she said $47.70 would be the cost of the food. My boss called one last time and the lady on the phone was rude and giving my boss attitude about calling for pricing. When our tray arrived (15 mins earlier than expected) the delivery man said the receipt was in the bag with condiments. Apparently no delivery fee was charged because we are about a block away from Rock's. It just a shame that we had to call that many times to get a straight answer and they made it seem as if we were wrong for wanting to know an exact total. The hoagies were okay. Kind of dry but I added a dab of mayo and it wasn't bad. Just wish they knew how to properly speak to their customers. I don't think I will order from them again. Perhaps the service is a little different when you dine in.

Hmmm my 5 star review from 5+ years ago seems to have disappeared. The best hoagies in the neighborhood - better hoagies than Timmy Ds and especially wawa (only 2 other sub places in neighborhood; well I guess there's chubbies too...). They slice their deli so nice and thin. Good wings. Only downfall is they really do take 20 min to make your order. So call ahead and don't come earlier or you'll be waiting. Good hot roast beef. They don't run out of rolls like Timmy ds. (I like the seeded rolls). A bit pricey and have to spend $10 min to use card.

Today was my first experience at Rocks Italian Deli. A group at work decided to order from there for lunch, and I was the delegate to go and pick it up. I had a chicken salad sub, with lettuce, tomato, onion and spices. It was very tasty, and the portion size of the sandwich was humongous. The rest of the group ordered a variety of sandwiches and French fries. Everything was good, and the food was prepared quickly. Only downside is the appearance of the actual location. It could use some modernization.

Scrapple, scrambled eggs, hash brown patty and wheat toast

My go to venue for takeout breakfast. Whether it's a sandwich or a platter I've never been disappointed. Today I called ahead for a platter with scrapple, scrambled eggs, hash brown patty and wheat toast. My order was ready when I arrived and I was out the door. I got back home and got right to it. The scrapple was cooked perfectly with a nice crispy exterior and soft interior. The eggs were cooked well and I enjoyed the taste didn't add any salt or pepper. The hash brown patty was nicely fried giving it a little crunch. I will definitely have to try some of the deli sandwiches they offer.

Love this place... They have THE BEST breakfast sandwiches and they are served all day long... Very friendly staff

I called in my order and the woman on the phone said it would be ready in about 20 minutes. I ordered two Hot Fuzz (one for my fiancé and his friend) and a Tuna Italiana. When I arrived, there were 4 customers inside waiting for their orders and browsing the massive selection of chips. Chubby's also sells beverages so you can make it a complete meal. Additionally, they serve breakfast sandwiches and are open 7 days a week! The Tuna Italiana sandwich really blew me away. The sharp provolone cheese, roasted red peppers and seeded roll made for a really nice flavor profile. Everything tasted fresh. They cut the sandwich in half properly so you aren't struggling to break it apart. Service was pleasant and fast, and prices are reasonable. It's slightly more expensive than Wawa but also more flavorful. Chubby's is my go-to now for deli sandwiches since it's in such close proximity to home.

Wasn't in the mood for a steak (I know, I know...don't crucify me) and I found Chubby's Fox Chase Deli on a google search based on where I was near and stopped in. The woman and man working were very nice. The shop is a tiny corner store with no seating so plan to grab and go. Got the "Turkey Italiana" which was turkey breast with sharp provolone, roasted red peppers, and garlic mayo on a seeded Liscio's roll (they had unseeded too if that's your vibe). This sandwich was excellent, I'm so happy I made this choice today. If you're up in the Northeast area and feeling a hoagie...this one is a winner. Absolutely Didn't Suck!

However, many of you might not know that Mister Ricks also makes great cheesesteaks. They have one of the best cheesesteaks I've eaten in Philly. The sliced ribeye is tender, juicy, and flavorful and stuffed into a giant seeded roll. A bargain for $14.99. Get it with fried onions and your choice of American, Provolone, or Cooper Sharp Cheese (hint: get Cooper Sharp!). It was so good I didn't even need to add any flavorings like ketchup or mayo to it (some cheesesteaks in South Philly are so dry they need ketchup and mayo to make them palatable). Mister Ricks cheesesteak is also physically larger than a lot of cheesesteaks I've eaten, so not only do you get a great cheesesteak, but it's also a great BIG cheesesteak that can be shared, especially if you get a couple of bags of chips. Oh, yes, they also have a vast array of chips and Coca Cola soda products to choose from. My son pointed out that this cheesesteak rivals and even beats any of the fancy, famous cheesesteak shops I've taken him to all around Philly. Totally true. I can name some of them, but then those shops might not like me anymore! Service is always quick and efficient. They serve a lot of folks on days with sporting events so if you're in a hurry, call ahead to place your order. There's no dining tables inside, but there's plenty of seats at the park right across the street.

Hype chasing works against places more often than not. That said I'd come here again. It's a pretty small place. Casual. Nothing too fancy. Tables are pretty close together. Our order started off with honey drizzled whipped ricotta on crostini. This was my favorite thing we had. I would order this every single time. Very tasty. Truffle fries were good, the right amount of truffle flavor. We split a chicken parm sandwich and a cheese steak. Both very good. Sauce on the parm has a sweet zing. The cheese steak was done in the modern style with the cooper sharp mixed in like a chopped cheese on a seeded roll. I find cheese steaks are either a 5 or a 7. Rarely do they stray outside the curve. This was most definitely on the 7 side. But the hype is a little over blown. What I wish we did was order a pizza. Every pie I saw looked fantastic.

It was superior to the parmigiana dinner platter, whose chicken was a bit dry due to being so thinly malleted and uncovered from lack of a fuller spoonful or two of red gravy. The Rigatoni was also in limited supply on the plate, but did hold the vodka blush well, which was pretty good. We attacked this thing within 2 minutes of coming out the oven. Incredible dough with depth and texture. Perfect balance of sweet (sauce/honey) and savory (pepperonis/grated parm). Topped with fresh basil and hot honey. I wished there was more hot honey but to each their own. Elite pizza!! I highly recommend Cheesesteak ($18): we ordered it with fried onions and Cooper Sharp.
