They tend to accept more orders than their facility can serve causing lines and confusion that stretch throughout the shopping center. Honest to God I just had a Roast beef sandwich better than Nick's. The roll was so fresh, the roast beef was sliced super thin and the au jus gravy was delicious. Extremely high prices. Some of the deli meats and cheeses are not fresh. Rude, extremely slow service. Limited parking at times. But Crown still trumps the nearby supermarket delis when it comes to freshness and overall food quality. The woman who waited on us was not friendly! I believe her name is NICOLE. She failed to greet us, looked as if she had an attitude, talked at us as opposed to us, and was generally nasty. My organization spent over $600 dollars on sandwiches and salads. We waited 15 minutes and really felt uncomfortable as Nicole was so unpleasant. This deli is successful despite itself. Their customer services stinks, they act like they are doing you a favor waiting on you. There is always an abundance of staff, but it takes forever to get waited on. They are always too busy chit chatting to each other. It's as if they try and out wait each other on who is going to crack first and ask you what you want. Don't bother to ask for your lunch meat to be sliced a specific way like thin, they just ignore you. You could shingle the roof with how thick they slice cheese. I learned about Crown Deli when I had some of their catering menu at a church event. Everything was fresh and tasty so when some people were At my home asking for a place to get sandwiches, I thought of Crown Deli. They did not disappoint. I called in an order for five sandwiches and was told about 30 minutes before they were ready for pickup. I ended up getting caught with other issues and was late by about 15 minutes but the sandwiches were just coming out. Crown Deli is just that - sandwiches, sodas, lunch meat, salads, and also will have tomato pies and other cool things for purchase. There is a small grill for hot items and very friendly but quite busy staff. My triple decker speciality sandwich with turkey, corned beef, and roast beef with homemade Russian dressing and coleslaw was so good it was gone before I knew it. I purchased some long hots and upped the anti on my meal. Wife had a Weeshie which was served hot which she wasn't expecting the "grilled" turkey sandwich to be. Still, very good. Other sandwiches were a buffalo chicken wrap and an Erin which was like a roast beef hoagie. They all said that it was a better lunch than they've been having. I must say they make very good hoagies the rolls are fresh and the meats and cheeses are top notch and the way the build them is very well done everything in the hoagie is proportionate to each other. I'd like to start off my saying that I have used Crown Deli's catering for the last 3 years (Christmas Events). Therefore, when we were looking for a place to cater my son's Communion Party this past Saturday, I knew it had to be Crown Deli. From the ease of ordering over the phone, to picking up our order the day of - everything ran so smoothly. Our guests raved about the food (lunch meat tray, roast pork Italiano, chicken marsala, baked ziti, string beans and seasoned potato's. There was barely anything left at the end of the night. The food was extremely fresh and picked up warm, which was so convenient for us - as we were already running behind. Oh! The pasta salad and potato salad were also very delicious! I'm torn between this place. This inside is like an old shack, always cramped and crowded. The place could defiantly use a facelift. The rye bread is amazing but also very expensive for the size. The interior of the deli is not that appealing. It looks a bit cramped, unorganized and could use a deep cleaning. Not being picky but I do have high standards about the cleanliness of a place that handles food. I ordered hoagies and was unimpressed with the quality of meat. Further who puts red onions on a hoagie that is not traditional. I also was not a fan of the lettuce used it was not of a typical type for a hoagie. If the hoagies were good the price would justify the hoagies but since they were bad I would say they are overpriced. I've been ordering there for many many years. Today I picked up my catering ordering of homemade meatballs and roast beef. Roast beef is fabulous as usual however I don't know what happened to their normally delicious meatballs but these meatballs were not what I've been getting for the past 15 years. Great for the turkey hoagie special. 3.79 for a foot long sandwich, so you can't go wrong with that...especially when they're pretty damn good. However.... the customer service falls so short for me. The second I walked in the guy behind the counter was really pushy and rushing me to order. No, it was not 5 minutes before closing. They still had two hours left. Really good deli in the far Northeast. Meats and homemade salads are always fresh with a good variety of options. One of the best finds in the place is Levis "champ" cherry soda that is often in the refrigerated case - a childhood favorite. The staff is friendly and remembers you when you come into the store, which lends to the family vibe of the place. Prices are good and quality is high. I would probably give it 5 stars except for the bread, which is entirely a personal preference and, for me, if it were a bit crustier this would be a perfect hoagie. Food is always prepared well. The lunch meat prices are more then the shop rite next to them but I'll pay the price for their one on one service. Sandwiches are prepared right there on the spot. Ordered food for an event we were having for about 100 people. I had no idea how many trays to order and asked for advice. The amounts I was told were absolutely perfect. We picked up the food and it was piping hot and ready for us to throw in our sterno trays. We ordered Roast beef, chicken marsala, chicken tenders, parmesan potatoes. green beans and ceasar salad.
