I'm super impressed with this location, super clean lots of beds available with no long wait time and they're open late which is hard to find these days. Also price is very reasonable. Estella at the front desk was super helpful and patient when helping me decide on the right package for me and what kinda tan I was trying to achieve in a short period of time. I've been a customer here since before the pandemic. I understood cutting the staff back then. I went in tonite, was told I had a 10 minute wait. Not a problem. Tuesdays have no incentives so was a bit unusual. Only ONE employee so I waited 25 minutes for the lowest stand up. The employee was alone and was with the same "new" customer for over 15 minutes. This is wrong at this time of day. 5-9 would probably be the busiest time so I don't get only having ONE EMPLOYEE. I have been know to stand in the lobby for more THAN 5 minutes while the ONE EMPLOYEE spray tanned someone. I would think that there would always be 2 employees in these times....as in, the buddy system, If not for efficiency, then maybe safety???? read more

I am a customer for almost a year and I am very happy with their service. The front desk is Very professional, helpful and pleasant. The ladies Brooklyn and Lily are welcoming and always inform of upcoming perks. The booths are cleaned after each client. They have free coffee if you want some. Overall I recommend them. read more

The poor girl at the front desk says everyone gets mad at her because it's $20 and the website hasn't been updated. Change the website or honor the advertisement! read more

This place is always clean and ready for me! I really appreciate the staff up front. They were super helpful when I came in and signed up. I love how fast and easy it is to get in get my tan on and get out. Also there's wipes, deodorant , hair ties and facial astringents to freshen up after you sweat. Parking is never an issue at this shopping center too. Go get that California glow!! read more

I have been going to rockstar Los Alamitos location for over 10 years. I just love the relaxing rejuvenating tanning experience and just like they promise say bye to pale skin and hello to radiant glow is exactly what you will receive. The managers there are awesome Sara is always making everyone feel welcome with her festive office decorations and when COV hit i did not tan for awhile but when i went back again the spray tanning specialist Selena provide me the best tanning experience Kudos to the girls there and manager Roni for having such a great team read more

Welcome to Rockstar Tan. Our full service tanning salon offers state-of-the-art tanning booths and high quality tanning products. We have the most advanced tanning booths and beds for optimal results using both UV and spray tans. In just a few years, Rockstar Tan has grown to be the leading tanning salon in Newport Beach, Los Alamitos, Laguna Niguel and the surrounding areas with three convenient Orange County locations situated in the newly remodeled The Triangle in Costa Mesa, adjecent to the 24hr Fitness Super Sport in Laguna Niguel and on Katella in Cypress near the Los Alamitos Race Track.

History

Established in 2005.

Rockstar Tan was founded a few years ago in Orange County, Ca with its first location in Cypress. Since then the solo tanning salon has expanded to a 2nd and 3rd location further south in The Triangle and Laguna Niguel. All members can tan at all locations.

 

Ryan Joyce is an on-site owner and many times you will see him helping out at each tanning salon.

Ryan grew up in Michigan for roughly the first 25 years of his life and he now lives in beautiful Southern California. He came to California to enjoy the sunshine which is a main reason he started Rockstar Tan. He believes the sun benefits us all and is essential to enjoying an optimal life. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a welcoming vibe and staff who are genuinely knowledgeable about all the different products and services they offer. Whether you're new to tanning or a seasoned pro, the team always makes sure you're taken care of. I've visited all of their locations over the years, but the Cypress/Los Al location is my go-to. The facility is always clean, well-stocked, and the staff there is incredibly friendly and efficient. I also have to give a special shoutout to Sharon at the Aliso Viejo location -- her customer service is top-notch! She's helpful, professional, and really takes the time to make sure you have everything you need. And of course, Roni is always a highlight -- her warm smile and great energy instantly put you at ease. She's fantastic with clients and creates a super comfortable environment. I've been a paying member at Rockstar Tan for years. I didn't complain when all three of their locations shut down in 2020 and Rockstar Tan continued to charge their customers monthly anyway. I ended up paying for 12 months on a membership I couldn't use. I called in and the old manager Kiani was nice enough to prorate my membership moving forward. I enjoyed going to Rockstar Tan for a short while after they reopened because of Kiani's hospitality, but as of today haven't been in for months. I just received a charge I did not authorize from Rockstar Tan, and upon calling in I learned that Manager Kiani left and was replaced by Roni. I politely stated I did not authorize this charge and requested my membership to be cancelled. Roni was appalled that I would be cancelling. She was extremely hostile and held my money hostage. She refused to help me and left me to put my bank on notice. I can't believe how reckless Roni is. The owner Ryan made a terrible decision having Roni be Kiani's replacement and ultimately run his three locations. read more

Best Tan Results!!! You can choose 4 different levels and the higher the level the quickest Tan Results and they even have Spray Tanning and Airbrushes :) Spray tanning just take a shower, exfoliate and don't put on any Lotions or oils :) Wait 7 hours after Spray Tanning and Air Brushing to take a shower :) The UV Ray Booths and Beds Work from the lowest level 6 to 7 tans and the highest works to 2 to 3 tans :) Just use a Bronzer Lotion to help up your Tan to 60% They WORK to help you get the Color Faster :) Just leave it on after you Tan or a minimum of 2 Hours to make your Tan Better and Last LONGER!!!! I came in the last week and had help from Sara. I think that your prices are good and the place is kept nice, tidy and clean. However, you should work on hiring more professional people and perhaps older than she seems to about 26. She was rude and carried a disagreeable, unpleasant tone when directing me on what to do. Hard to believe she is a manager. I also heard about her talking about her life details to another staff member there. I don't need to know that you are having an affair on your significant-other with someone else there. Please do not keep hiring this ugly trash! I had never been to a tanning salon, as a matter of fact, I never thought I would even want to.... I decided before a big weekend in Vegas I had to even myself out, since my arms and legs were super tan... and the rest of me was... not so much. Rockstar tan was amazing, I got the Spray tan and rec'vd soooo many compliments on it. Nikol was fantastic, as I didn't know how it'd be standing in front of a stranger in a speedo. Had a free week coupon while visiting a friend in Long Beach, she tans at both salons and she took me with her. I hadn't tried a stand up before but the two girls working were super helpful. They showed me around and told me the diff between standing up and the ones I was used to, the lay downs. Nicole and Mary [I think that was their names] were really nice and looked like sisters. If I am ever in the area again I would give them a shot. We went to both locations and everyone who helped us was nice, maybe they will open one up in SD. read more

On my way out to Vegas this Memorial Weekend for some fun...I just went in and tried their Infinity Sun Spray tan! Ladies, I'm a white as a ghost, I don't tan at all! I was told on 5/1 that a refund has been issued after I requested a refund - as of today I still have not received my $82.50 refund. Update: I walked in today (4/27) to tan & was told my account is inactive / locked and there was nothing she could do unless the manager was there to override. I asked the floor staff to contact Kevin after locating my most recent receipt. She tried once and let me know he didn't answer. I sent an email and then waited 30 minutes to see if he'd respond so I didn't make the trip for nothing but he has not responded. If my membership was cancelled, I fully expect to be notified & to see $82.50 refunded to my card. Considering I paid my membership on 4/19 - the only conclusion I can come to is that Kevin decided to cancel my membership because of the below review/suggestion. I've been coming here for six years and don't have much negative to say but I do have a suggestion due to frustration when beds go down. Note: On 4/25 bed 6 was down. Situation: You have a (gold) customer who's been waiting in the parking lot since 20 min before opening and just before opening another customer comes in and jumps in the only working bed (meaning a 12-15 minute wait in addition to the 20min spent in the parking lot). Customer options at Cal tan - Pay for an upgrade to avoid the wait (that's a no since I pay $80 a month already) Wait 12-15 min extra (this makes your time at cal tan nearly an hour in total) Or downgrade so you can get done (but still pay the same) --------- Suggestion: your customer should 10000% receive a complimentary upgrade if a bed or beds on their tier are out of service. I've never been the member of a tanning establishment that doesn't show their customers they value them when situations like this arise. It's truly a bummer and I highly suggest taking the pressure off your floor staff and keeping your customers' weekends less packed with waiting.
