They were friendly on the phone and very upfront about their pricing and the way their "star" system works. Other salons I spoke to were a bit more hedgy about the 'stars' and their pricing was a bit ambiguous. Roni was honest, open and knowledgeable. When I arrived, Roni signed me up. She was super friendly and energetic. ALL the front desk people have been wonderful whenever I go in...which is daily. Having worked at a tanning salon YEARS ago I do understand the wattage of the bulbs, number of hours, etc. so maybe having that background helped. I signed up for the basic monthly pkg because there are so many days you can upgrade for free or 50% that I take advantage of the upgrade days to really jumpstart my tan, then maintain with my regular, 2 star booths. Are they lower in wattage? Yes...however, when you first sign up, you get a week of FREE upgrades, so I did a mixture of the stronger 4star stand ups and the 3star lay down booths for my free week...they really get your tan going. Now I maintain the tan and on Mondays I pay half price for a strong 3star bed and on Weds/Thurs I go for the free upgrades of both 4 & 3 star booths. Weds and Thurs you need to pay attention to the times when you can go in for the upgrades...Weds is 8AM-noon and Thurs is 5-7PM. If you are late by even a few minutes, they won't honor the deal, so make sure you are there 5 minutes BEFORE the end of the special that way they will honor it even if you have to wait for a booth. BUt they are very nice and upfront. After speaking to 2 other salons, I decided upon Rockstar and am very happy with the customer service and the package and services I pay for. read more

They have affordable plans and offer both stand up booths and beds. They have a beauty bar with ameneties and the space is very relaxed. I'm very new to going to a tanning salon. The staff were very helpful and patient answering all my questions about the various bed types and strengths and other options such as spray tanning. The place is very clean and stand up beds are easy to operate. They also have a nice vanity with deodorant and wipes and some basic hygiene products for customers which has been useful and their prices were good and offers for memberships right now. read more

I'm VERY big on customer service. These girls got it. My first day was Wednesday, Selena helped me. She was SO knowledgeable about all the beds, the memberships and gave me options. I did the 3 bed. After I signed and paid she gave me a tour of the salon and showed me how the bed works. I just left today and another front was there and just as friendly. The beds are amazing, I used a 4 today. Lots of lotion options, complimentary body/hair products after you tan and the salon is very clean. I'm SO happy I came here. I can already see results. 10/10! Also, GIVE SELENA A RAISE! Machines are extremely outdated for the price. I paid to have the most expensive machine and my arm barely touched the side and it burnt me and looked like it was from the 1980s the way it was functioning and built. Also, when I was trying to pay to get service, it took 20 minutes just for a girl to get a code for me to be able to make a payment. There was nothing we could do about it and I was forced to just wait there until a manager finally responded and they could proceed with my payment which is very unorganized and unprofessional. read more

I have been going to Rockstar Tan on and off for years. It started when I needed to fix a tshirt tan before wearing a strapless bridesmaid dress. After that, I have gone every once in a while to build a base tan before summer or a lake trip. I love that you can either join on a monthly membership basis or you can just get 30 days like I do. They also offer spray tans for those that don't want to do the UV. They have a beauty bar so you can freshen up after your tan if you go on your lunch break like I do! The salon is kept very clean and the girls are super friendly! They offer daily specials, so you can come in at a certain time and get a free upgrade. Anyone who lives in the area knows, SoCal hasn't seen the sun in months, so I've signed up for 30 days of tanning to get the fake seratonin that the sun would give me. I wear a short sleeved uniform for work and am in the sun in and out throughout the day. I go to Rockstar Tan occasionally to fix and even out a, "Farmers Tan". Whenever I do go, all of the staff treat me great. There is one employee that sticks out and gives me great customer service. Her name is Selena, and she is always a pleasure to see whenever I need to fix my farmers tan! She always greets me with her beautiful smile and genuinely asks me how I am doing. This is the best tanning salon I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot! It's super clean and everyone that works here is always so nice and friendly and they learn your name if you go enough. There is great selection of beds and prices and the prices can't be beat anywhere in OC! I've been coming here for years and years and I drive from the Disneyland area to go here cause it's worth it! (I used to work in the area! But never stopped coming after I didn't! I have never used the spray tanning at all here so I cannot comment on that. I only use the stand up or lay down beds. I highly recommend this salon! Lots of tanning lotions to pick from and as others have mentioned the beauty bar is great! Deodorant and astringent to clean your face! Among other things. The other great thing is the Daily Specials! These are different each day and consist of free upgrades, free upgrades with a lotion packet purchase and others!
