Very clean rooms! The double bed room is extremely inviting and I stay here every time me and my husband want to get away. It has a giant tv, great ac, great prices, CLEAN, looked after, and cared about. I love this place and it's very consistent! Recently remolded for sure! Nice location. Accidentally booked the handicap 2 bed room. It was large and great for people with a handicap. But I got to say they need to do a better job at cleanliness and sanitation. Sheets were dinghy and dirty with stains. Towels were old and dinghy. My coffee cup to make coffee was a used coffee cup that was left there I guess. Maybe clean the tiles and grout better in the showers. I just felt the room could have been a lot cleaner. And buy new sheets and towels for your hotel. Being in the location you are in I'm sure you have enough $ to spare. I guarantee your reviews will go up. Oh and if you are going to have a hair dryer in the room, make sure it works, if not remove it. And you also need to replace a few light bulbs in that room that weren't working. Our group had about 5 rooms and I can't say if the other rooms weren't the same. I went into another and it seemed to be good. Had a prepaid reservation and they overbooked, selling my room to someone else. After a 6 hour drive, I arrived at the Rockview Inn & Suites to be told this by the woman at desk. Although I was refunded, they did not offer to compensate me further, or to pay for a room at a different hotel. This left me stranded in a completely sold out city, very tired after a long day of travel. Woman at the front desk was also very rude, and basically told me it was my fault she sold my room. read more

Although the staff was friendly, the room was clean, and plenty of pillows were provided, there are myriad reasons for the low rating. The water pressure in the shower was extremely poor and it took an exeptionally long time for the water temperature to heat up. There was very inadequate clothing storage. Only 3 small drawers are provided along with a miniscule area for hanging clothes. The box spring on one of the queen beds was broken. The bedding was inadequate and no extra blankets were provided in the room. Their mini-refrigerator, unlike others, does not have a freezer section at all. The coffee maker was not only too small, but it leaked as well. There was no program guide displayed upon powering up the TV/cable system. This situation was made even worse due to an unnecessarily complicated remote control with no accompanying instructions regarding its use. The Rockview Inn and Suites is not only terribly overpriced, the quality of the lodging is substandard and the amenities provided are inferior. read more

If you give this dump more than two stars, you gotta be high when you're writing this review. First, the good things...parking was convenient because we got one in front of our room. Checking in was fast. The clerk was good enough to give us the key to use the restroom after a long, long drive. The hotel was located to basically everything within walking distance. Morro Bay Rock was literally there when we turn the corner. Now the worst...the rooms were nasty. One of the bathrooms smelled like a gym locker that didn't go away. Hair was still in the drain. I found a BOOGER on the shower curtain. The walls were painted sloppily and there were cracks and broken wall mouldings. The floors had a dirty film feeling on it. If you're a big guy, be careful with the elbows because there's not much room when you wipe. If I do come back here, I won't stay here for sure. read more

Just stayed here for a few days, Sunday through Tuesday. Booked this hotel based on other reviews that mentioned comfortable beds. Not sure what comfortable means to those other reviewers but the beds here are obviously old and very uncomfortable. Our room did not have a smoke detector and was in older condition. You can tell they're kept clean so that's a bonus. The staff I encountered was very friendly, both on check in and check out. The place was mostly empty during our stay so it was very quiet. There was an issue with ventilation in the room because after taking a shower the entire place filled up with the steam and we couldn't get the dampness to go away, even after leaving for the day and returning, the blankets and every surface was still damp. We had opened windows and turned on the air conditioning unit as well. read more

Just what you need. A comfy bed and comfy pillows. I had a surface clean room and was comfortable there. It's an older establishment and could use a deep clean or remodel. Wood floors. Doggie friendly for a $20 fee. TV, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. A ceiling fan, which helped move the air around when it got a bit stuffy during the night. There was an air conditioning unit, but it wasn't warm enough turn that on. Close to shopping and restaurants on the Embarcadero. Overall, OK. Oh, and very reasonably priced. read more

This hotel is utterly disgusting! It is far from clean. The people who own it spend more time cooking in their kitchen then actually running the place. Just to name a few things we had bugs coming in from under neath our door as the front door did not seal, we had stained linens with the following of blonde and black hair that was not ours and bodily discharge stains, nothing in the room was cleaned. I've never been so grossed out to stay some where in my whole life. It's disgusting and just gross! DO NOT STAY HERE! We arrived late (about 10pm) and were able to get checked in pretty quickly and the gentleman who checked us in was friendly. The room was comfortable, clean, and allows pets. You can also park right in front of your door. There are other hotel/motels on the corner where there is a vending machine if needed. We found a great place to eat the following day. I even took a walk in the morning and the neighborhood is lovely and we felt very safe! read more

Immediately as you walk in to the check-in office, you will get a clear view of what's ahead. The office is as the rooms are, dirty, small, stinky & stale. They also stuffed the continental breakfast eating area in there. The waffle maker, coffee machine & toaster look old, dirty and abandoned. Even if it's free- NO THANKS. Puke bad. Yes. The state should seriously start looking into the cleanliness of what they are serving up here. The lady, which I posted a pic of so you know who she is, couldn't be anymore ruder and basically wants more money bottom line. I booked through expedia and selected 2 adults, 1 child. I guess since I booked through my mobile, the one kid didn't get recorded in my order. Called expedia, they said this inn doesn't charge for children anyway. This greedy woman couldn't help herself, she charged me an extra $15 for him and if I hadn't payed in cash, she'd would have also added an extra $2 to that to run my credit card. Eesh. And all, yes, you guessed, with an attitude. There were two towels in the bathroom only. They were so old, dingy, thin and cheap. You can't beat a hotel less than $100. The location was good and the room are newly renovated..Everything is within walking distance.. Morro Bay is a very small and quiet town, so you won't expect to see really big fancy hotels. You'll see B&B, Travelodge's, days inn and small boutique hotels.. After researching different motels, inns and varieties of Travelodge's, I opted to book this hotel because they just renovated the rooms. I went with lower expectations but left with satisfaction. Check in was easy - Our rooms were nice - King bed, flat screen tv...fridge and microwave, all the amenities you'd expect. Rooms were very decent, only negative was that you can hear all the noise and movement around the Inn, What can you expect, its not big hotel..you get what you pay for and I was happy with what I got and paid for. Functional, clean, comfortable and affordable motel. And I've been in a WHOLE BUNCH of them. I'm not sure what problems previously existed... but this place and the price were terrific. We also brought our canine companion for an extra $20 per night. That's fair considering what a dog might do if not well-trained or well-behaved. Dog friendly motel. Cool. This place is listed as a hotel... I'd call it a motel. The rooms are all accessed by individual outside doors facing the parking lot. No parking charges either, and they allowed us to keep our car safely there that had all our stuff in it until our room was ready, which was in full view of their office. It gave us a sense of comfort and safety. The manager (or the owner) was very polite, welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable and it was a VERY short walk to either the waterfront or the main business strip... just a few short minutes. The bed was large (we had the King), the bathroom was clean, and everything worked. It felt safe, the temperature was perfect, it had a refrigerator with small freezer, a microwave, a full-size ironing board and a coffee maker. Granted, this place is a bit older and it's not as completely corporate feeling with all the exact cheap furniture and towel racks as with all the other motel chains. This place is a bit "pieced together" like a new first home to make it functional and comfortable, and that's what it is. Aesthetics can be overrated if they're not functional. read more

OK this is 5 star based on price vs quality, obviously this is much more of a budget hotel, but it did the job at half the price of the nearby Best Western we were looking at. It seems the ownership is really putting some effort into improving it. Our room had just got AC they were installing in all rooms. Room also had new windows and bathroom was pretty updated. Looks like hotel was getting a needed exterior paint job too. Room was clean, but it could use a fresh coat of paint, you can see some dirty walls. Nice to have fridge and microwave. Place was quiet enough for us. Location is awesome, can walk to everything you'd want to do in Morro Bay. Management was friendly and responsive, seems family run and cared for. We'd stay here again, we typically like to stay a bit more upscale, but it was a busy time of year and the price was right. read more

I only ended up at this hotel because the places I really wanted to stay in Cambria were sold out. So my best advice is to book as far in advance as you can in CAMBRIA to avoid staying in Morro Bay. It seems exhaustion from driving a great distance to get here has influenced other commenters to be more generous in their reviews about this dump than it actually deserves. I was immediately turned off by the dirt parking lot, the dumpster full of pizza boxes, and the moldy smell when I entered my room, but the fun was only just starting. For starts, the alarm clock was straight out of a Hitchcock movie, flickering and making sounds that bespoke poor electrical work. Although the room had been "renovated," I noticed unrepaired damage to walls and ceilings, filthy electrical outlets and baseboards, peeling paint on the walls (especially in the bathroom), a burned out bulb above the bathroom sink, and a missing heat lamp above the shower. There were light switches that didn't work at all. It seems that the man in the room above me was once in a marching band, and continues to practice his steps after all these years. That is all good and fine. I am happy for him. However, the poor quality of construction of the building means that you will hear every step the people above you make, and every ecstatic "in-the-moment" sound squealed and cooed by the kinky couple on the other side of the wall your bed is pushed up against. WiFi is included at this fine establishment, however it is configured in such a way that I could only connect through my phone. My computer prevented me from connecting due to the non-standard network configuration. If you do connect, proceed at your own risk. Even on my phone, I was only able to get a download speed of 4 kbps, which is the equivalent of not having service at all. I switched back to using data access on my phone as a hotspot to gain access from my computer. The bed itself is bouncy like a kid's bouncer house, but surprisingly did not sink in the middle. The sheets are threadbare, as in they should have been rotated out a year or so ago. The bathroom towels are also in rough shape. There is a decent shower curtain, but no shower liner. Or maybe it's a liner without a shower curtain? In the morning, I discovered the ironing board and the snack machine. The iron is secured to the ironing board so that you won't steal it. It made me feel right at home. And the snack machine was empty, except for the toilet plunger jammed in between it and the wall. To say the least, this motel did not meet my most minimal expectation. The best thing I can say about it is that I did not actually see any bugs in the room. I certainly hope I do not discover otherwise later. Of course, I have documented all of this in photographs since a picture paints a thousand words. I will add these later, as I am posting this glistening review from the safety of a restaurant in Cambria. I must stay, however, that I really hate posting negative reviews on Yelp. I've been staying at this motel every time I come to town over in recent years. We have watched the owners make major and minor improvements to the property each year. The owners of the property are also so helpful. They are always going above and beyond for us and other guests. I recommend this place. Good price for what you're getting. read more

The owners were very accommodating and kind. I ended up staying here about 10 nights over Christmas-New Year holiday. I didn't plan on staying there that long but they made it so easy to change rooms when one was booked and all of the rooms were quiet and very clean with good beds. Finally a hotel where I don't sink in the middle of the bed. Showers are hot. I also checked in very late at night a couple of times, and forgot my room key one very late night and he always answered the door or the phone, no problem. Service is 10/10 and the location is perfect to everything nearby. I've stayed at MANY of the hotels in the vicinity and this will be my go-to now. A family-oriented safe hotel. The reviews of this place were pretty rough, so I was a little hesitant to book at first. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Very clean room and looks like it's been recently remodeled on the inside. Quick walk to local spots and the beach. My only minor complaint would be that the room seemed a little stuffy, couldn't get air conditioner to work, but there was a ceiling fan. This place is disgusting. Not only did it stink, there was no soap in the dispenser, no batteries in the TV remote, but as we were going to bed, A FUCKING ROACH CRAWLED OUT OF THE SHEETS OF THE BED. The people are the front desk were nice accommodating and gave us a price cheaper than on Expedia. We were provided a room without a bathtub which was a bummer, so if you want one be sure to ask before booking. The room was clean with a nice bathroom and two nice queen beds. The towels provided were clean. It comes with a coffee maker, TV, microwave, ice bucket, and mini fridge which were all used by use so it's great they had them. The best part was the close proximity to the marina and Morro Rock. It was very overpriced for the value of the room overall though, it definitely fits more under a motel title than hotel. One night here cost as much as three nights should've cost. Not sure if it's the summer rush after COVID restrictions are removed or what but the price was very high for a motel. It was still the cheapest one we could find that allowed dogs. It provides the bare necessities and nothing more. The major concern was that you could literally hear the person above us snoring during the night!! It was a shock. I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother me, however my mom couldn't sleep for the longest time because she could hear snoring, people talking, and walking around above us. Just a warning that the rooms may be thin. If the room seems overpriced at booking, it's probably not worth it unless there's no where else to stay. It's a basic place that will provide a place to rest your head but who knows if you'll be able to actually shut your eyes peacefully, depending on how sensitive you are to noises. If you don't mind wearing earplugs, then you may have a better experience than we did. Just not a great experience for us our first time here. read more

We have stayed at this hotel once before when we first came to Morro Bay. They lost our reservation and tried to put us in an inferior room. We now come to this area three times a year from central California. We don't normally stay here, but COVID issues closed our favorite cottages and dog fees have spiked here. We called several weeks ago and we were quoted a really great rate; evidently too good to be true. We're traveling with our two fur babies (@whiskeyandringo on IG) and the hotel said they would only charge a single dog rate despite our two dogs. We were quoted just over $550 (all expenses included) for 4 nights, which was amazing. When we checked in, the bill was just under $800: 150% of what we were told weeks ago. So, we're 4.5 hours from home with a car full of road bikes, dog necessities, and all our luggage. They dropped it down to just over $700 but it's still far from what we were told. The hotel room is ok, the view is great, but the dishonesty is over the top. If they had just forgotten to include taxes and it had been $50 more, fine. We all make mistakes. But, 50% more feels like an absolute bait-and-switch. After all the hassle, the room has filthy floorboards, gross walls, and holes in the bathroom covered poorly with plastic plates. read more
