It is Sunday, and what better way to spend it than hanging out with friends at a local pub to catch the NFL game? The place I chose was Rockwell's Bar & Grill, a spot that offers the classic Long Island bar and grill vibe, friendly, casual, and lively, perfect for watching sports. While it is not exactly right around the corner, it was conveniently on my way back home after a day out on the eastern Long Island fork. Rockwell's atmosphere really hits the mark; it is the kind of place where you feel at ease, surrounded by sports fans and the buzz of the game. They also have a daily Happy Hour with 2-for-1 deals on draft beers, wine, and house mixed drinks, which works for me. The menu is full of classic American comfort food, burgers, crispy wings, and their popular steak sandwich. They also serve appetizers, salads, and a variety of entrees to satisfy different cravings. For our meal, we ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas--they were delicious. Our server was outstanding, attentive, and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. Plus, he kept us updated on the game and other sports highlights, which is a rarity these days. One thing to note, though, is their satellite dish program. We could not get some of the games we wanted to watch that were not on the usual local channels, so the selection was a bit limited. Still, the overall experience was fantastic way to unwind and enjoy Sunday football with good food, drinks, and company.

Rockwell's is your classic Long Island bar and grill. Great for watching sports and chowing down with the boys. Staff and service is top notch. Lovely personalities filled with tender love and care. It was Black Friday and not too packed at 2:30pm. I can hear my cousins discuss NFL sports betting. What a wonderful afternoon. They won their bets! My Philly cheesesteak hero paired with the Sierra Nevada Hazy IPAs were to live for! All-in-all gotta give this joint a solid 4-star in my books. It's a wrap. Put a bow on it.

This place is such a fun and positive atmosphere. The food is delicious but I'd come back just to support these people. It's so inviting and the people (workers and loyal customers) make it feel like home. This didn't even feel like Long Island. People were so supportive and made it their mission to make you feel like you belonged. Not sure I was at a restaurant or a support group. I met the very personable owner, Tom sr., his lovely "best friend" (his wife Donna), very personable and handsome young son Tom who was bartending, Cesar the friendly busser, Shannon the sweetest waitress and Joann the lovely hostess. This family owned business is an example of what we need in this world. When Joann (a loyal customer) lost her husband in 2020, Tom offered her a hostess position to get her out of the house and start living again. She told me how grateful and how amazing it is to work for the family. The love between Tom and Donna radiates a contagious positive energy throughout the room. Come to Rockwell's to lift your spirits

Think saloon instead of pub. Definitely a country western vibe going on, with songs like All My Exes Live in Texas and artists like Hank Williams Jr playing. Full size bar with separate dining room. Comfortable seating. My husband ordered the starter portion of Texas Baby Back Ribs. Generous portion and with an added cup of soup it made a meal. I tasted these and immediately wished I had ordered them. Nice and tender, dry rubbed, topped with sautéed onions that made it a perfect dish which I would recommend and order again. I had the flat iron steak which was cooked perfectly to requested rare but unfortunately came out cold. Meat and green beans both cold. Waitress was so professional in handling it, apologized profusely and had another plate made PDQ. The wait staff were very polite and prompt, much better than you tend to expect in - well, a saloon. I was also pleased that there were low carb options to substitute for potatoes. My side salad had great fresh mixed greens and julienned carrots but the tomato and cucumber were a bit overly refrigerated for my liking. Overall good and would return, especially for those ribs.

As expected, it was a casual pub style spot with a bar and a small dining area in the back. For this Friday afternoon, it was quite busy. It was bustling with almost all the tables taken by the time we left. Our server was friendly and upbeat. She offered suggestions based on our preferences. We both ordered the same thing - burgers. They came out quickly. The burgers were big and yummy. They satisfied our craving perfectly.

I've been here on numerous occasions hoping that maybe this would finally be the visit where everything clicked. Unfortunately, it just hasn't happened. My experiences have been so-so, and more often than not they've been slightly disappointing. My biggest complaint has always been the food. My take has been it's been bland or uninspired. The French onion soup was just ok, and seemed like no effort putting this together. No provolone cheese option when I've ordered which is crazy. The Caesar salad tasted diluted, with lettuce that seemed waterlogged rather than crisp and fresh. Just overall underwhelming. The food is not necessarily terrible, but just mediocre and forgettable. Portion size is another problem. For what you're paying, the plates often feel surprisingly small. One example of this was the "Big C Burger," which was honestly a huge letdown. With a name like that you'd expect something substantial. Instead, the burger was tiny--maybe 4-5 ounces at most. At first glance you could barely even see the meat because the bun swallowed it. I ordered it medium and it came out completely overcooked, cooked to death really. The bun didn't help either--dense, dry, and overpowering the already small patty. The whole thing just felt poorly executed. Even the little details were off. I asked for olive oil on the side for a salad and what came out was clearly some generic vegetable oil. It felt like a lazy substitution, the kind of thing that makes you question how much care is going into the kitchen overall. To be fair, the one thing Faraday's consistently gets right is the atmosphere. The restaurant is has a cozy charming space with a warm pub feel. The indoor dining area although small has character and a comfortable vibe. The outdoor area is really nice too, and perfect for setting for a nice meal on a comfortable day. Service is good. I've not had any issues with any servers ever being inattentive. Occasionally some order mixups but quickly rectified. Unfortunately, that inviting setting hasn't translated to memorable meals. After several attempts over the years, Faraday's has remained one of those places that seems like it should be good--but for me, it just never quite hits.

Greeted warmly greeted when we first entered with only a five minute wait ( we had a reservation and I highly recommend making one). Again warmly welcomed by our server Nicole who provided an outstanding service throughout the evening. Nicole was friendly, engaging and offered excellent dinner and drink suggestions. Live music was on tap on this Friday evening which did make the dining room rather loud for holding table conversations but worth the live music being played that evening. The cocktail menu offers a good and varied selection of mixed drinks and wine and the mixed drinks are both flavorful and expertly presented. I would highly recommend both the Flappers Folly ( a refreshing floral mix) and the Espresso Martini drinks. Started off with the hot honey & bacon brussel sprout appetizers which were perfectly flavored with the honey and bacon bits over crispy brussel sprouts. All main dish items were very good. The Old Sport Burgers were juicy, flavorful and all cooked to perfection served with crispy string French fries. The French Dip Au Jus was well seasoned and not to dry with a flavorful au jus. I would highly recommend the Gatsby Grain dish bowel. Shredded chicken served over jasmine rice and vegetables was outstanding and served with a side salad. Restaurant manager Cathy was very visible in the dining room checking in with every table and asking for feedback which you don't see very often nowadays. Even got a personal tour of the new party room ( looking for a location for a future event). Overall good food reasonably priced , excellent service and nice decorum with live music offered on the weekends. A great place to grab a drink and listen to music while catching a great burger or the Gatsby Grain dish bowel . You won't be disappointed.

Spinach, artichokes, béchamel, shaved parm, mozzarella, garlic dressing, and baby arugula all working together in perfect harmony. Easy 10/10. We wrapped things up with the Kung Pao Cauliflower Bites, and they were such a pleasant surprise. The tempura cauliflower stayed crispy, the General Tso's-style sauce had just the right balance of sweet and heat, and the cashews, sesame seeds, and scallions added great texture. Drink-wise, we shared a bottle of wine from their solid selection, but I also have to shout out their massive cocktail menu, so many options that I'll definitely be back to explore it properly next time. Horrible experience! First and last time going here…read more I went with my family. My mom was attracted to the restaurant because of the decor outside and everything. We sat down at our table and were given menus. We didn't even get the chance to look them over before getting asked what we were going to order. After a couple of minutes, we finally did order. For our appetizer, we ordered the BBQ Ford's Classic Wings. The wings were delicious, nicely seasoned, and the ranch paired nicely with them. The wings were saucy and kinda messy--and we didn't have any napkins around us. The waiter eventually came to our table and we asked him for napkins. He came back with some blue rags--I get it, it's part of the whole restaurant theme and everything. For our entrees, my sister ordered the Salmon with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with a side of Ford's Fries. My dad ordered the BBQ Pork Ribs with a side of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Lastly, my mom ordered the Beer-Battered Fish N' Chips with a side of fries. After putting in our order, the waiter came back and said they were out of ribs--my dad switched to the Grilled Sirloin Steak, with the same sides of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. After about 30 minutes, we received our dishes. We weren't able to eat because we didn't have any utensils at the table. We asked the waiter for utensils and waited around 5-10 minutes for them. It seemed like he had forgotten to bring them to our table. We had also ordered more ranch and barbecue sauce. After a couple of minutes, the waiter came to give us our utensils; he also cleared the plates we had used for our appetizer. My dish was a chicken sandwich, and the bread had a stamped logo of the restaurant name. My mom had the fried fish, which looked really big. My dad noticed that instead of coleslaw for one of his sides, he was given broccoli. He decided not to say anything and just eat it. We began eating our meals. My mom cut into her fish and immediately noticed something was wrong. Her fish was undercooked, and she couldn't even eat or look at it. My chicken sandwich wasn't hot or warm at all, and in my opinion, was flavorless. My mom only ate the fries from her plate--refusing to eat the undercooked fish. My dad ate his dish and it was fine--other than having the wrong side. My sister ate her dish, and there was nothing wrong with it at first. We waited and waited for the waiter to come by, which felt like forever. He eventually came by and dropped off the sauces we had asked for earlier, and my sister told him about our mom's dish. He took the dish away and we patiently waited. At this point, I had lost my appetite and could not continue eating. My sister was still eating--as she ate her mashed potatoes, she found a hair in them. I told her not to move it or take it out, and to leave it in the dish. A couple of minutes later, what seemed to be the manager of the restaurant came to our table asking about the undercooked fish. In addition to the fish, I mentioned how my sister had just found a hair in her mashed potatoes. Both my mom and sister explained everything to him. He offered to cook another fish for my mom, but she said no. He continued and continued to offer, asking my sister and mom if they wanted any other dish--they said no. He then said the two dishes would be taken off our tab. He continued to offer us food; this time, he offered anything off the dessert menu. We politely declined and just asked for the check. He then took my sister's dish away. Shortly after, the check came to the table. What is worse than the terrible food? The prices! Given that two dishes were taken off our tab, we were only paying for our appetizer, drinks, and two dishes. The food was not worth even half the amount of money we paid. After leaving the restaurant, I went on Yelp and looked at the reviews--which I should've done much earlier. I saw a lot of reviews about bad service and one or two reviews about people feeling sick after eating at the restaurant. My only hope is that my family and I don't get sick. Overall, it was a horrible experience: bad service, bad food, and bad prices. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Save your money!!!
