Stopped in at Ford's Garage at the Smith haven mall after a long work day, I've been meaning to check this joint out for a while and I certainly picked the perfect spot, right off the bat I was welcomed by the lovely hostess Kat who made me feel at home from the second I walked in the door, I sat at the bar and was greeted by my server Angie who was an absolute delight, great conversation, service, and recommendations. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I would like to thank Fords Garage, they're fantastic staff and especially Kat and Angie for a great dining experience. Horrible experience! First and last time going here. I went with my family. My mom was attracted to the restaurant because of the decor outside and everything. We sat down at our table and were given menus. We didn't even get the chance to look them over before getting asked what we were going to order. After a couple of minutes, we finally did order. For our appetizer, we ordered the BBQ Ford's Classic Wings. The wings were delicious, nicely seasoned, and the ranch paired nicely with them. The wings were saucy and kinda messy--and we didn't have any napkins around us. The waiter eventually came to our table and we asked him for napkins. He came back with some blue rags--I get it, it's part of the whole restaurant theme and everything. For our entrees, my sister ordered the Salmon with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with a side of Ford's Fries. My dad ordered the BBQ Pork Ribs with a side of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Lastly, my mom ordered the Beer-Battered Fish N' Chips with a side of fries. After putting in our order, the waiter came back and said they were out of ribs--my dad switched to the Grilled Sirloin Steak, with the same sides of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. After about 30 minutes, we received our dishes. We weren't able to eat because we didn't have any utensils at the table. We asked the waiter for utensils and waited around 5-10 minutes for them. It seemed like he had forgotten to bring them to our table. We had also ordered more ranch and barbecue sauce. After a couple of minutes, the waiter came to give us our utensils; he also cleared the plates we had used for our appetizer. My dish was a chicken sandwich, and the bread had a stamped logo of the restaurant name. My mom had the fried fish, which looked really big. My dad noticed that instead of coleslaw for one of his sides, he was given broccoli. He decided not to say anything and just eat it. We began eating our meals. My mom cut into her fish and immediately noticed something was wrong. Her fish was undercooked, and she couldn't even eat or look at it. My chicken sandwich wasn't hot or warm at all, and in my opinion, was flavorless. My mom only ate the fries from her plate--refusing to eat the undercooked fish. My dad ate his dish and it was fine--other than having the wrong side. My sister ate her dish, and there was nothing wrong with it at first. We waited and waited for the waiter to come by, which felt like forever. He eventually came by and dropped off the sauces we had asked for earlier, and my sister told him about our mom's dish. He took the dish away and we patiently waited. At this point, I had lost my appetite and could not continue eating. My sister was still eating--as she ate her mashed potatoes, she found a hair in them. I told her not to move it or take it out, and to leave it in the dish. A couple of minutes later, what seemed to be the manager of the restaurant came to our table asking about the undercooked fish. In addition to the fish, I mentioned how my sister had just found a hair in her mashed potatoes. Both my mom and sister explained everything to him. He offered to cook another fish for my mom, but she said no. He continued and continued to offer, asking my sister and mom if they wanted any other dish--they said no. He then said the two dishes would be taken off our tab. He continued to offer us food; this time, he offered anything off the dessert menu. We politely declined and just asked for the check. He then took my sister's dish away. Shortly after, the check came to the table. What is worse than the terrible food? The prices! Given that two dishes were taken off our tab, we were only paying for our appetizer, drinks, and two dishes. The food was not worth even half the amount of money we paid. After leaving the restaurant, I went on Yelp and looked at the reviews--which I should've done much earlier. I saw a lot of reviews about bad service and one or two reviews about people feeling sick after eating at the restaurant. My only hope is that my family and I don't get sick. Overall, it was a horrible experience: bad service, bad food, and bad prices. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Save your money!!! read more

I absolutely adore this spacious garage themed eatery. Bright colors, vintage pictures and signs and actual cars! The Honey and I had dinner here on Sunday, April 12th, 2026. We were in the area and decided to check it out. We were seated promptly and our server James greeted us warmly when he arrived at our table. The Honey had the meatloaf entree with two sides and I opted for the Ahi Tuna Bowl. Both meals were absolutely delicious! My bowl was bursting with lettuce, cabbage, avocado, wonton strips and the salad dressing just pulled everything together! We were satisfied but still craved dessert. James suggested the homemade Key Lime pie....he said the company was Florida based. He did say all the desserts were good but, if you like Key Lime we needed to try it. For a Monday lunch I was happy this place was open. My first time here it did not disappoint. Not crowded there was fast and accommodating service. Staff were pleasant and bustling around. Our waitress gave us time to really look at the menu and put our app orders in before entree. There were weekday deals available also. I love how everything was Ford mechanic shop themed, it made for an eye catching experience especially for my friends 1 year old. The staff quickly prepared a booster seat for her as well. Although there was not a kids menu available in the regular one, when we inquired there was a variety offered for the young one. We got the nachos with chicken it was a HUGE PORTION, definitely too much for two adults we took more than half home. I had the Cali Roadster burger which was just my size (smaller than the traditional burgers) with avocado slices , garlic aioli and pepper jack cheese. Yummy but slightly messy wouldn't ask for that on a business lunch. The kid got Mac and cheese with some grilled chicken and mom a bison burger. Zero complaints. It was a nice first time experience. Ford's Garage atmosphere is like going on a mini themed vacation in the middle of smith haven mall. From the fun tire sink in the bathroom to the spinning wheels on the bar above the bar, there's an eye catching display everywhere you look. The food was good. I had the burger salad and was really glad, since it allowed me to taste the quality of the ground beef and it did not disappoint! The boom boom shrimp app was great and my son had his pork baby back ribs were good. But his tater tots were cold - nearly frozen in the center. He told the waiter who was about to bring out new when my son ordered fries instead. The fries were tasty but it was a really tiny portion. They also forgot the burger sauce on my salad. It sounds nit picky, but there weren't many pickles on my salad, either, which is part of what would set it apart from a regular salad. (It was supposed to be their take of a famous keto dish - Big Mac in a bowl.) The service was pretty slow, too. To end on a high note, we might return if we were in the mood for a really good burger but it's not a place I'd rave about or recommend. Everything was cooked perfectly and had that nice crispy texture on the outside. Also got the berries gorgonzola salad with shrimp which was really good and tasted fresh. This was our second visit to the restaurant. The first time the food was excellent but the service wasn't the best. Despite that, we decided to return because we really enjoyed the food. On this visit, we were seated right away, but unfortunately, no one came to our table for nearly 30 minutes--not even for water--while other tables that arrived after us were already being served. It was frustrating, and we were just about to leave. We flagged down a staff member, and shortly after, the manager, Javier, came over. Javier was incredibly professional, apologetic, and genuinely understanding. He immediately brought us water, took our order, and had appetizers out within minutes. From that point on, the service turned around completely. His attentiveness truly made all the difference. To make up for the initial delay, we were kindly offered a complimentary appetizer and dessert, which was handled in a very professional and gracious manner. Once again, the food was a solid 10/10. The burgers were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection, and the cocktails were good. While the evening started off on a rough note, the way the situation was handled left a lasting impression. I live local to this restaurant and until tonight I have had positive experiences. I was very disappointed in my take out order tonight. So much so I am writing this review, I dont usually do this. I got my daughter a kids grill cheese with sweet potatoes tots and the sandwich was barely cooked. She said it was like a school cheese sandwich. The tots are always good. Then I got 3 oreo milkshakes. I think they are like $12 a shake! the cup was barely filled. When I asked why she said that how they do it. I said thats rediculous and she stared at me and said "you dont want them?" my kids were expecting shakes so I took them. I left frustrated and disappointed and then came home to undercooked food. Simple and good! We originally came here on a Friday. Very frustrating they don't take reservations and we couldn't wait an hour so we came back on a Tuesday night. The attention to detail is fantastic. The napkin rings, the cars on the ceiling, the motors, just everything is five star. I ordered a Malibu bay breeze but they don't carry Malibu. The rum they gave me was pretty good, just not the same. My husband enjoyed his alcoholic root beer. He ordered a burger and I ordered chicken fingers and fries with pickles. My chicken fingers were actually pretty good. I wasn't expecting them to be the best but they did the job. For the amount of seasoning on my fries, it lacked taste. This seemed like a cool place to dine until you wait for their slow service and salty food. I wanted to like this nostalgic restaurant given its creativity, history, and location. However, the execution pales in comparison to the cute concept with cars, rags for napkins, and garage doors for window views. As a fan of the Ford GT40 for symbolizing how American ingenuity can beat and sweep the European race cars, such as Ferrari, at the Le Mans, I wish this restaurant could emulate their level of excellence. The only things that I enjoyed were the tower of onion rings on a funnel, truffle fries, and sweet potato tater tots. Otherwise, I had issues with the following: - Large slice of fish and chips with only malt vinegar and without tartar sauce - Estate burger was seasoned with a layer of salt to the point that it was inedible, especially if anyone has high blood pressure - The meat in the overdrive melt seemed so dry that I could barely swallow each bite without gulfing down their guava fizz mocktail, full of ice. This luncheon could be worth ~$35 per person if we could eat and enjoy it. Service took forever to get seated given tables seemed mostly designed for four people, not a family of five adults with a toddler. Moreover, the food took forever to cook and serve given they seemed to allocate more staff as hostesses standing around with nothing to do to chat than the few waiters and servers. The staff was friendly and helpful to earn tips, but the back-end operations would benefit from some major improvement in efficiency. read more

It's been a while since we've been here as we had a not great experience when they first opened. Now that it isn't crazy busy like it was when it first opened, the experience was so much better. I've already had the Monte Cristo here before which was amazing, it was reminiscent of Bennigans back in the day. The sandwich was amazing, though both times I ordered it, it was cold in the center, but even still the taste was great. This time I decided to try a burger, and it was fabulous. It's the second best burger I've had on Li, Village Idiot's marinated burger is #1 for me. The burger here was cooked exactly to the wellness I asked, a challenge at other restaurants I go to. It was flavorful, the bun wasn't too thick, and it was nice and juicy. The fries were essentially straight versions of seasoned curly fries, also tasted great. The pricing is very reasonable, dinner and desert for $66. A similar meal next door at Cheesecake Factory would be about $90. We will be back! read more

But this ended up being a pleasant surprise, I'm not really sure why there seem to be so many negative reviews. We were seated quickly, our waitress was friendly, and the burgers were very good. Can't ask for much else. The theme is really cool, all of the automotive incorporations. Even the restrooms were worth using just to check them out! Here's the Scoop! Came here after Church for lunch. First off upon entering the decor is impressive. It has the garage feel. The wall decor, seating and table set-up is very creative with C-Clamps as napkin holders. The menu has many tasty looking pics and descriptions of their entree line up. This retro designed restaurant has a comfortable seating with full variety of and specialty drinks. Outdoor seating is large as well. Many large screen TVs throughout the restaurant. The food that we ordered (see pics) was simply delicious. I was very impressed and look forward to diving deeper into their menu on my next visit. So Yelpers if you're in the area of Smithhaven Mall and want to have a tasty meal with a twist on some of your favorites, come and give them a try. Plenty of seating for large groups. I've owned Hemi SRTs and I have to admit I've never owned a Ford. I could make make some Ford jokes but that's not what this review is about, it's about Ford's Garage and the meal we had over the weekend. Smithaven Mall, its the place where I spent my time as a teenager. To open this cool looking restaurant in the former Bobby's Burger Palace spot is like a shot in the arm for my mall. When they opened Texas Roadhouse in Selden, it was impossible to get a table so I expected the wait times to be long. Everyone is Christmas shopping and would like a good meal outside of the food court. I have to say Ford's Garage delivered. And to have the *ONLY* Long Island Ford's Garage in Suffolk County makes my heart sing. So suck it Nassau County! I honestly have to say, the quality of food that was served to us was very good. Take for example the Chicken Bites starter. The chicken was fresh, it wasn't over fried and the sauce had a little heat. The burgers being served are huge. YUGE! Ford's Garage makes all types of 1/2 pound specialty burgers. They also sell 1/4 pound cheeseburger choices if a big burger is too much. First time here, the Smoked Brisket Burnt Ends melt looks like a sharable sandwich: Smoked Brisket Burnt Ends Caramelized in Bourbon BBQ Sauce, Tillamook® Sharp Cheddar, and Bacon Jam on Country White Toast. Mmmm mm! This sandwich was also a very good, quality sandwich. The Piston Onion Rings are one of the best onion rings I had in a long time. Another solid side dish. Cold beers, 25 burger choices all being served in a cool setting. So why four stars? I mean, in the Men's room, I did pee in a beer keg? um.. awesome My only gripe?
