Cute shop in a fantastic little town. Great selections. It made for the perfect dessert stop after a lovely creekside lunch. I tried a creation that had peanut butter and maybe ground up Rice Krispies inside a luscious chocolate shell with caramel garnish. It was so big that I ate half that day and half the next! I'd definitely recommend this as a fun vaca dessert spot. read more

First off I want to say I really really love this company. This is my absolute favorite chocolate company. Unfortunately I live in Atlanta now and don't have access to them.. I have begged my brother to drive up to Oregon for the past couple of months to get me some chocolate covered potato chips. I have been buying these for years anytime I have the opportunity, whether it's in store or in the airport. This is the first time ever that I have received a batch that I've been disappointed with. These look, absolutely horrible, they mixed the chocolate types, they poorly coated them which left them clumped together and some of the chips are stale. I'm so so disappointed... My brother deserves a refund! read more

Okay. I'm a regular customer and I like the treats okay. I use the place a lot for corporate gifts and things because they have nice boxed up goodies. Here's what I want the owners to do to earn their five stars. Please, set up your tipping so that your staff can get tipped ON THE CARD AT THE MOMENT OF SALE. I have been in twice and asked why I can't tip and the girls behind the counter have both said that they can only get tipped on a card if they ASK if you want to add a tip before they run the card, which of course is overly solicitous. If I don't have cash on me, they're out of luck. When I do, I tip in cash. Once I even went out to my car to get cash and come back in because this is the Covid-19 era and wait staff deserve a damn tip. Please show you care about your employees by instigating this simple change. I will update my review and keep coming in when that has happened. Let me know. :) I am not related to anyone who works at your store. This is a genuine concern I have as a paying customer. We decided to try some treats from RMC Factory. They smelled good, looked good and we decided to try cherry chocolates for my husband and English Toffee for myself. They were okay, but did not have an amazingly delicious taste to make the price worth it. The cherry chocolate was actually a cherry jelly type of center, no actual cherry in it. My husband much prefers cherry cordials from Florence Chocolates in Rexburg, Idaho. The English toffee was pretty good, though seemed to have a little bit of a chemical aftertaste. Nice! Got a giant apple covered with rocky road (marshmallows, milk and dark chocolate and walnuts) and split it 3 ways. We loved it! It was super delicious sweetness that went perfectly with the tart green apple. I am not sure what it is about these giant apples, but I cannot control myself, I HAVE to buy one to split with my family each time I see them sold anywhere!! LOL So we ate it while exploring Ashland today, and we ate it while exploring Jacksonville and then we finished it back in our hotel room in Grants Pass. This was one great big long lasting apple of love!!! The guy that helped us was super nice, offered us a sample of fudge, and was so friendly and sweet! Staff is very helpful and friendly. Just like any Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, you need to prepare for some sticker shock. But, it's handmade and they do a great job with what they make. I think there is something for everyone in this store. This Ashland store is somewhat small but they have it packed with great tasking chocolates and more. We always stop here when we are in town because everyone is so friendly and of course, we love chocolate. We never leave without purchasing something. read more

I have family in town so we decided to get some treats from here. I made sure to look up the hours and when I put it in google maps it popped up saying they were open 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Friday through Saturday. We walk in at 7:58 p.m. exactly and immediately were told "we are closed". I pull up where I got the hours and all she says is "that's interesting, we close at 8". Mind you it's 7:58 and the open sign was still up. We got no service and there was also no line. Pretty disappointing. read more

The chocolate and ice cream are wonderful here. There are so many treats to chose from. My wife and I ended up with several tasty treats. The prices were on par with what I would expect from a chocolate shop. The only thing that rubbed me wrong was the staff. It's not that they were rude, they just were not remotely friendly either. Rocky Mountain chocolate company has been around for a long time and has locations all over the nation. I go there because I know that they have quality goods. I was pleased to see the shop on our day trip to Ashland. I was so disappointed in the chocolates that I purchased. I bought them as a gift and they were inedible. They were old and the nuts were rancid. They were bitter. Sadly, my friend bought several items for her husband for a Father's Day gift. I texted her to warn her so she can try to find another gift. I realize that many businesses have taken a hit because of COVID-19 closures but it is not acceptable to sell merchandise that is poor quality to your customers. Throw it out and count it as a loss but don't sell it to unsuspecting customers. People won't come back after an experience like that and it gives the company a bad reputation. I live over an hour away from their facility I ordered chocolate covered strawberries a week before Valentine's Day to be picked up at 11 AM drove all the way in on Valentine's Day today February 14 and was told I had to come back at 2 o'clock to pick them up if I wanted them because they could not fill the order they had my phone number and could've reached out and told me this but instead told me I had to come back even after I informed them I lived over an hour away very poor service .... read more

There were so many treats I wanted to take home with me, but I was good and had some will to resist. Their caramel apples are delicious but the people who work there need way better customer service. The girl who was working was extremely rude. We came in half an hour before it closed as she was cleaning and seemed super pissed that we went in. She wouldn't even let us through the door because she was cleaning and blocked the entire door, so we waited patiently until she finally moved. We simply asked her if they were still open and she was very short and made no eye contact whatsoever. We did not even get greeted nicely. Worst candy-store candy I've ever had! Came in here for the first time with a friend recently and purchased two mocha truffles, a piece of cookies and crème bark, and a piece of oreo fudge. So disappointing I could barely eat it! The truffles must have been marked incorrectly. They tasted more like some unidentifiable fruit than anything like mocha. Not tasty at all. The cookies and crème bark tastes like pure sugar and is literally too hard sweet to eat and actually enjoy. The oreo fudge was old and tasteless. I know it was old because I've made my own oreo fudge before twice and it tasted much better and fresher, and did not crumble like Rocky Mountain's did. I don't think fudge is supposed to crumble! Tasted dried and chalky and once again, way too sugary even by sweets-shop standards. The girl at the counter Ellie, was also not too friendly. Never cracked a smile. Spent most of her time frowning at my friend who, for some reason, frequents the store quite regularly. You'd think a loyal customer would at least get a warner greeting... Not sure how this place is still in business. Such a terrible experience I will NEVER come back again. read more

I'd give this place more stars but the kid behind the counter was rude. My boyfriend and I stopped in after lunch in Ashland for a sweet fix. There was another older couple inside and everything looked good. The kid working behind the counter offered the other couple some samples and ignored us. I browsed because I was looking for things to buy as souvenirs for my family. They had pumpkin fudge out on the case and I reached to grab a wrapped square to purchase and the kid snapped at me. I thought it smelled a bit funny, but I have a very sensitive nose, so it may have just been in my head. My daughter loves this place, but mostly to go gawk at candy (which is weird). She usually ends up getting ice cream. The girl behind the counter was very sweet, and made me a delicious sugar-free, nonfat, decaf vanilla latte without giving me the stinkeye. We come here every time we visit because they have such a good selection of chocolates. My favorite is the Rocky Road cluster. My husband likes the pecan clusters. Walked in and was immediately told "we close in 2 minutes, or... I'm sorry, 1 min," by the long, dark curly haired girl. We were planning on only taking a couple things to go anyways so we found it very off putting. Weren't sure whether or not she wanted us to just turn around (I assume she did and honestly wish she would have just said that instead of making us feel so uncomfortable.) She wouldn't cut the single caramel apple we got and followed us out the door to lock it immediately behind us. We tried to be as quick as possible but I guess the girl had somewhere to be and couldn't even wait an extra minute. I'd understand if it was a restaurant or a place with time consuming recipes or messy clean ups but wrapping chocolate to go is something else. The owner was very rude. She's an old lady that treated my brother, my friends and I like trash. She kicked us out because my brother was chewing gum in the store. The chocolate was almost as bad as the owner was mean. Would not recommend this store to anyone. I do not support poor quality foods or rude people. read more

This has been my go to candy place in Ashland but now I'm not so sure. I was in line with many others for their hot chocolate on the night of the Festival of Lights parade. After waiting 25 minutes through the line and another 15 for a new batch of cocoa to be made I finally got 2 cups and was on my way out the door when I tripped and dropped one of the cups :( I went right back to the counter and told them my sad story. Their reply " we don't usually replace spilled drinks! What? They made money hand over fist that night and couldn't refill the cup?
