It was a pleasurable experience, perfect on a rainy Saturday spring day. The service was fantastic!! Starting with reservations, which was a "comedy of errors" to the moment we left. Esther's friendliness and attention to our comfort and taste elevated our experience. We started with the light, flakier tasty warm classic scones. Then we moved to the delicious, satisfying, variety of finger sandwiches - the traditional cucumber was perfectly refreshing to clean the palate before the sweet phase of our meal. In the mix there was a spinach-cheese tart which it would have been tastier served warm. I selected a violet dark tea which was lighter than I expected, perhaps it would have been stronger if would have let if brew a little longer. The assortments of pastries/sweets were delectable and mouth-watering - macaron, sponge cake, coconut chocolate drizzled macaroons, custard, and a truffle. All inviting, succulent, and scrumptious. I got a decaf espresso tonic which was seasonal and had orange and mint. My sister had a lemonade, my mom had a chai, my dad had black tea, and my brother in law had a strawberry matcha. With a small space, they've done a creative and beautiful job. This being their grand opening (second day open), people are already visiting and tasting mouth watering pastries. Cathy Bouchard, the owner, and Jody Michalski, the General Manager, greeted me with a smile and enthusiasm. The women behind the counter were helpful as they learned more about each pastry. What a delight! I was privy to a short education on the new drink that exploded with a tropical fruit taste and a hint of chocolate. You've got to try that and when they begin selling it, buy it, you won't be disappointed. They have a delectable mini key lime pie that is seasonal and to die for.
