Stopped by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and it's always a great place if you're craving something sweet. They have a huge selection of chocolates, fudge, caramel apples, and other treats, and everything looks fresh when you walk in. It's one of those places where it's hard to leave with just one thing. One of my favorites there is the zebra caramel apple. The apple is crisp and covered in rich caramel with white and dark chocolate drizzled over it. The combination of flavors is really good and it's definitely worth trying if you haven't had one before. The shop has a fun atmosphere and sometimes you can even see them preparing the treats behind the counter. Overall it's a great place to stop if you want good chocolate or a classic caramel apple. Popped in here to get some gifts. They keep a large selection of caramel / candy apples on hand. I got the Strawberry Cheesecake Apple on their recommendation and my husband absolutely loved it. The good: I got an apple pie flavored caramel apple for under $10 here right before closing. They had many caramel apple options including interesting ones like strawberry apple pie. The worker here was quick and super fast at cutting up our Apple and ringing us up (being close to closing time probably helped). There were a few tables outside of the shop where you could enjoy your treats too. I liked that the caramel wasn't hardened and wasn't too thick. The bad: It doesn't taste as good as Disneyland's apple pie caramel apple. The interesting: The apple was more sour than I expected. They're located upstairs in the mall. read more

I recently visited this chocolate shop in the mall with a friend, and unfortunately, the experience was not great. When I asked about the "Dubai chocolate" that's been trending on TikTok, the staff member gave me the dirtiest look and stood there silently. It was super awkward and embarrassing! She eventually corrected me in a really condescending tone, which honestly made me feel so unwelcome that I decided not to buy anything at all. Got Reece's peanut butter cup covered caramel apple. Highly addictive. Couldn't stop eating it. Was gone within 10 minutes. Does get stuck to the roof of your mouth. Honestly I was super disappointed that for $20 they're misleading people to buy a "viral Dubai chocolate bar." You're better off ordering from a home baker because this this bar is basically just green caramel with weird hard bits inside. It does not taste anything like a real pistachio bar and anyone who says otherwise has never had one. Rocky Mountain Temecula posted on instagram that they were selling the viral dubai chocolate so I called them to place an order for pick-up a few days later. I bought 2 bars....for $20 EACH and they were so so SO horrible. I was excited to share them with my friends and family but NO ONE could finish their piece...one bite and we all put it down. The filling is supposed to be crunchy and taste like pistachio but it was SOGGY, STALE, and LIQUIDY???? They definitely didn't use pistachio nut spread and tried to make their own concoction but failed miserably. And the chocolate part tasted so cheap...like some weird off brand you would get at a dollar store. I called Rocky Mountain Temecula simply asking if they had a return/refund policy, without mentioning the dubai chocolate yet btw and the worker responds "I'm sorry we don't offer refunds or returns on the dubai chocolate." The fact that I never said anything about the dubai chocolate yet but she automatically did tells me that I'm not the first customer asking them about it. It sucks because it's not even just "okay" it's overall a really bad product that has to be thrown away. Inedible, really. Please stop making these, RMCF Temecula. The caramel apples here are absolutely delicious. I've been here a few times now and had pretty good experiences. The first time I came, I was greeted by a friendly employee who was very proactive and answered all of my questions. She offered to precut my caramel apple for me, which I appreciated. The second time I came, a different employee was working. While she was friendly enough, it was obvious that she just wanted to go home (there were still at least 30 minutes before closing). She didn't really seem like she wanted to precut the apples, so I just decided to take them home and cut them myself. As for the apples themselves, they are really good. They taste fresh, and the chocolate seems to be of high quality. I haven't tried any of the other products on offer, but they looked good as well. I do wish they refrigerated the apples though. Best I could tell, the cases they're kept in aren't refrigerated. Overall, Rocky Mountain is a solid dessert spot. It is a little pricey, but that's expected. I would totally recommend them to anyone who is craving something sweet. read more

My daughter and I were craving some caramel apple since she just got her braces off finally and was so excited to finally eat caramel again. We were at the mall and decided to splurge and get one of the Mud Pie (the one with the Oreo cookie crumble over the caramel) after paying 8$ for this sucker we were so disappointed...there was barely any caramel on the apple and it kept sliding off the apple not maintaining that gooey caramel texture you get from a well dipped caramel apple. And the Oreo tasted stale...ugh. Maybe should have known since mall wasn't that crowded that the caramel apples weren't going to be as fresh. read more

This was about 3 weeks ago but just now have time to post my review. I bought three coconut haystacks which are my absolute favorite. I got the milk, dark and white chocolate. They tasted stale to me. I am not sure if they make their chocolates the same day and I hope they do but this was a big disappointment :(. AWFUL SERVICE. there were 3 girls working in the store and no customers whatsoever. so i decided to walk in with my boyfriend. these girls, just stared as we walked in and then went back to talking, didnt say hi, ask if we needed help, tell us about specials or anything whatsoever. now this was my first time in the store, and every rocky mountain is different. owned by different people, carry different items, different prices, and obvious different hiring standards. So, we walk in and look at the apples and the caramel does not look up to par whatsoever. it was gritty, dark brown and burnt. the apples we bought were rotten and smooshy on the inside. I bought the apples against better judgement to taste them, even though there were fruit flies in their case and the caramel looked inedible. As we were cashing out, buying the disgusting apples, the girls just stood and stared gawkingly with stupid looks on their faces, like we had ruined their conversation by being in the store, buying products to keep them in business. The girl cashing us out was extremely rude and tossed our change at us. I will not be going back to this location, and ive already told everyone i know about the awful experience. How any of these girls got jobs in this store is seriously beyond me. All i know is if i acted like this or treated a customer with such disdain and disrespect i would be fired on the spot. I guess some people just dont care about their customers experiences in their store. I will not be returning to this location ever. The ladies there were very nice to me. I go there for the chocolate caramel apples. Their chocolate and caramel tastes of good quality. They are delicious. I haven't tried anything else, but I'm sure it's all great. I recommend it for the chocolate caramel apples. My favorite is the one with marshmallows inside the chocolate. read more

While I'm not ordinarily a big fan of Chocolate, I do get the craving from time to time. It just so happened that I had one while walking by this newly opened shop in the Temecula Promenade mall. Upon my entry to the empty shop, I was greeted by two young girls who both looked at me, and then continued talking amongst themselves while I looked around. There were many varieties of chocolate-covered-whatever's to choose from, so you definitely aren't at a lack of chocolate-options here. After apologizing for interrupting them and asking their recommendations, I was promptly served and given nice friendly smiles when I left my change as a tip. I tried the chocolate dipped pineapple, and chocolate dipped orange peels. Both of which tasted only moderately better than something I could get at Trader Joes across the street for 1/5 the price. So needless to say, I probably won't be going back unless I've got some sort of chocolate emergency. (Or if I want to try my hand at one of their candy apples which would make me feel 5 years old again) tl;dr: Not a bang for your buck. read more
