This is hands down my favorite gourmet chocolate store. We travel annually to CO for our family ski trip and I always come to Vail to buy this goodness! My top favorite is the Dark chocolate smores cluster! The dark chocolate is so rich and out of this world. You can't stop once you take a bite. I also order dark chocolate pecan cluster for my husband coz he loves pecan. I get milk chocolate clusters at time but I'm not crazy about it compared to their dark chocolate. Definitely mediocre chocolate at a very high price. I mean, I get it. It's Vail, but give me a break. Half of the things I got were super super stale, almost inedible. I got about 20 dollars worth of chocolate just to have during my road trip. The chocolate covered s'mores was the most stale of all and I'm pretty sure it was the most expensive. The chocolate and caramel covered marshmallow wasn't my favorite. It had a very weird texture and flavor. The m&m bark was alright but the chocolate wasn't that tasty. Overall, I'd steer clear unless you ask for whatever is fresh or made very recently. The worker was very nice and helped us with all our questions. Was visiting on vacation and was so excited to find individual vanilla creme to purchase- I bought SIX of them (Not a cheap endeavor but they were a gift) I get home to find out only ONE is vanilla and the rest are completely different and contain peanuts. Do not support this business. Today, I witnessed a Latino couple that I did not know treated so horribly. The couple had a 1 y/o baby girl and the woman checking them out was extremely rude. First, she told the dad he absolutely could not pick 2 flavors of ice cream in his scoop (there are nice was to say this but the woman was militant in her response), then the mom asked to switch her flavor of chocolate (she never touched the chocolate, it was in the countertop in a bag) and the woman said they don't do exchanges, then the mom went to sign the cc receipt and she demanded she keep her fingertips on the other side of the plexiglass that was still up from Covid. This was RACISM. Honestly I've never seen anything like it. I asked to speak to the manager and the woman snarked at me that she was the manager. Her name is Emily. Needless to say, I lost my appetite and did not buy anything for my family. The couple thanked me on their way out for saying something. I told my 7 year old I was with to always do the right thing and stand up for people. This manager, Emily, is such a poor representation of America. I usually veer from leaving bad reviews but I've got to say the young guy working here was one of the rudest people I've ever dealt with. I work in customer service and have for 7 years and I understand working around tourists 24/7 can be tough. But I try very hard to be nice to people in the industry because I do understand and this kid was so unpleasant. He had an attitude from the get go, I made sure to say please and thank you, never got a you're welcome. When I had a question about a flavor he rolled his eyes and answered with an attitude like I was stupid. After walking out and walking around for 10 minutes I realized I lost my ID which was with the credit card I used to pay here, so I walked back in and asked him if anyone had turned an ID in. He looked at me like I was an idiot for about 10 seconds then again with the attitude replied "uhm no?" My family comes here every summer because we love their ice cream and the cute shop. Tonight, however, the employees were unbelievably rude, dismissive, and aggressive toward us. Today we came into have some chocolate and the lady behind the counter who is about 5 foot seven, Caucasian with brown straight hair treated another customer (a very nice teenager) just simply terrible. It was embarrassing to witness. I was helped by another employee getting a dozen chocolate covered apples. When she asked my friend if she could help her my friend told her that that was very rude and unacceptable how she treated that teenager. oh my gosh. If you're a chocoholic you NEED to check this place out. Literally chocolate lovers heaven. Although it was 4° outside I got the chocolate ice cream in a chocolate and oreo cone. Both the come and the ice cream were heavenly. We got an avalanche bark apple to go. I feel like the avalanche bark is probably the best thing this place has to offer. Crunchy, gooey, chocolatey goodness all in one bite. If you're not a fan of apples they have it in a bar form. I would highly highly recommend trying anything with the avalanche bark. read more

Great treats! My favorites are the caramel apples. I prefer old school with the double caramel but they all look awesome. They'll even slice it to go. The apples have always been perfectly crisp. Free treats for pups too! Suggestion: Forget the single caramel apple (the double caramel can't be beat) and replace it with a salted burnt caramel. read more

Glad to see they finally changed the time to 9:00 pm instead of showing a sign way down below on the window it should now be clear to people who want to go to this place so they don't lock the door in your face a few minutes before 9:00 which they did anyway. I have to agree with the other yelp customers it is a sad day when the employees do not want to work there because they already have 3 jobs and nothing left to give the customer but a nasty, bully, attitude. All they want to do is go home so they take it out on their clients. I think if they would just be nice and say we have to make the bus time or they won't make it home then people would understand but instead they just turn into pure nasty energy which our world does not need more of we need happy, supportive, caring people who serve ice cream and chocolate it is suppose to be a "Happy Business" I was treated rudely by two individuals there and I will never be back even if the ice cream and chocolate is good. Retail is not an easy business. They either need to shape up or ship out...as they say get out of the kitchen if it is too hot for you it is never worth it in the long run. We were excited to get some chocolate for my family last night. My son and I can't have gluten but many times places offer GF options. So we all went in excited to see what they had. A girl asked if she could help us and I asked her what GF options they had. She kind of chuckled and said "Gluten Free? Isn't that bread, as you can see, none of our chocolate has bread on it so it's all gluten free". So I said to her that there are Oreo dipped chocolates over there and graham crackers dipped, those aren't gluten free. I said that See's candy is gluten free but not all chocolate and candy is. She said very rudely "well you should know if you can eat chocolate or not, do you eat chocolate ma'am?" I said that I do if I know if it's Gluten Free first because I have an allergy. Then she says rudely "well I have no clue and you can go look it up online" At this point I didn't want to spend a single dollar at that store. I'm really kicking myself for not trying the chocolate dipped twinkie. Now I'm going to be calling every other location in the Denver metro area looking for this. RMCF is my preferred chocolate dealer. Now if I could call them at 2am to get my hook up I'd be dialed and high off the chocolaty goodness. Walking in Vail village many people were walking along the cobblestone with cones in hand. We started heading to a deli for ice cream and were were advised that RMCF was the place to go for the creamy goodness. The Iced cappuccino truffle was excellent, and I wish I had ordered a snowball and Kahlua truffle to go. My father appeared to back to being 6 as he walked out with his double scoop of choc chip cookie dough ice cream in a huge waffle cone that was dipped in chocolate. Minty doggie bones were bought to treat the pooch back home. Minus a star since the staff was rude, acting if they had better things on their agenda then fetching sugary treats. read more

The ice cream is great, but don't you dare get there at 9:31 PM. Never mind that the shop is open till 10 PM, the ice cream case locks down tight at the stroke of 9:30--with attitude. We got ours, but we saw the staff turn away at least 15 people who were hoping for some dairy delights. I guess the profit margins must be higher on the chocolate delicacies.
