She had only used mechanical systems in the past and, although an experienced seamstress, was unfamiliar with recent changes in technology and the latest computerized products. We had the great pleasure of being greeted by Miles when we walked into this amazing store. We explained our requirements and he immediately understood what was needed and began to show us appropriate options from Pfaff, Husqvarna, and Bernina. Miles was able to explain without hesitation the fine details of all of the products we considered and could helpfully relate many issues to his own sewing experience. We quickly narrowed things down to a computerized Husqvarna model, available at a very reasonable price. Who knew that Husqvarna dated back to 1689 and went from producing muskets to sewing machines in 1872. I always thought of them as a power equipment manufacturer, but that's a separate company these days. This is a huge store. The selection of brands and models to choose from is awesome. There's a good selection of threads and accessories plus some fabrics. There's even a vacuum section. Miles guided us seamlessly and was a great help. We would have been lost without his expertise. We had a great visit with no pressure. Miles wrote up a quote for the systems and accessories of interest. My friend thought it over and purchased the Husqvarna the next day. read more

Super knowledgeable and helpful! I brought my Bernina in for service and it was only 3 weeks for service time. I got the maintenance plan and I'm so glad I did, I needed the motherboard replaced ($500+) and they did it no problem! Lots of fabric, even garment fabric! Notions, thread, anything you need. I was looking in to getting a serger and when I found one, I took their free Serger 101 class and found it to be helpful in learning how to thread my serger and get to know a few basics of my machine. The instructor, Sydney, was helpful and everyone I've spoken to here has been friendly and knowledgeable. They have a small selection of fabrics but what they do have is great quality. read more

I had a good experience shopping for and purchasing a new vacuum here. Sydney was helpful and patient as I tried different models. They offer a 7 day return policy (as opposed to some of the other vacuum dealers here not allowing returns at all) but I've already tried out my Sebo E3 Airbelt vacuum and love it! They also gave me a good value for a trade in of my old vacuum. They ordered the specific color I wanted and it was ready to be picked up the next day. Thank you all! read more

I left a review shortly after purchasing an embroidery machine here. I am updating it now. While the staff are indeed friendly, the service is lack luster to non existent. I purchased an extended maintenance plan and thought it was a good deal, but they hold on to the machines for weeks at a time and every time I brought my machine in, it came out with different issues. The first time there was a nasty note from the service tech stating I needed to clean my machine better. I had purchased it about 3 months prior as a used machine, and explained it wasn't cleaned then before they put it out for sale. I had nothing to do with the state it was in. The second time I brought my machine in, it came back with the needle booting up in the left position instead of center. This was also somehow my fault. It also required me to rip out a lot of stitches because the default settings had changed. The third time I brought it in, it came back with the default stitch length removed and set to 5/running stitch. I've ruined fabric because of this. The machine has very obvious default settings and I'm not sure how they manage to change them to the wrong settings permanently. When I spoke to them abou this the answer is to keep brigning it in. My plan means I can "get it fixed as often as I want" I USE my machine. The turn around time is almost a month for service. What is the point of having a high end machine and a maintenance plan if it is always going to be waiting in a warehouse? The topping on the cake came this weekend, when I get a call saying my service plan expiring this week, and I can kindly renew it for another few years for another chunk of change and the price is going up. Would have been nice to know a little before it expired but this shop has consistently shown that they are more interested in more money for lackluster service. I also bought all of my sewing furniture through them. They will find a way to blame you for any problems, and are slow to do any actual work. I will be trading my machine in with a different store, and pursuing a service plan somewhere else. At the very least I expect not to be gaslit about machine issues and blamed for issues the service techs caused themselves. read more

I have taken 2 of their free classes since purchasing an embroidery machine from them. First of all, the ENTIRE staff is helpful and knowledgeable and most importantly patient. It has been great customer service each time I've gone in. Both classes were taught by Rosemary, an embroidery expert. She gives personalized attention to each student and shares her wealth of knowledge. Before I bought my machine, she sat down with me and helped me do a sample embroidery on a towel I brought in, using their floor model and demonstrating the machine's features. I just received an email from RMSV advertising their CMP (Complete Maintenance Plan). I encourage you not to fall for this program the way I did when I purchased my Coverlock 4.0 from them. I have never been able to use it because I am unwilling to let my machine sit on the floor of their warehouse for 2-3 months waiting to be serviced. I totally wasted over $500.00 on this plan when I purchased my machine. Buyer be warned. read more

While my sewing machine has come back from service working well both times I've had it worked on here, my customer service experience was less than stellar this time. I brought in my fairly basic but sturdy and reliable Pfaff knowing that the timing was off, and I shared this with the technician. He was very condescending toward me. I get the usual questions: do you clean it regularly? Have you changed the needle? Do you oil it? His tone, however, was "mansplainy," as he continued to ask the same questions over and over like he didn't believe me. Fine, maybe he doesn't know that I sew a lot...including challenging garments like jeans and swimsuits. But then I had to show him how to thread it properly! He was a little snooty toward my machine as well, insinuating that machines "this old" are sometimes hopeless and hard to find parts for. I would think that me bringing in an 18 year old machine shows that a) it's not a terrible machine if it's lasted this long and b) if it's lasted this long I must be taking ok care of it with regular oiling and cleaning. Even if it was hopeless, a little tact and compassion for a machine that is sentimentally important to me (I told him it was a college graduation present from my parents) would be nice. Then, when I came in to pick it up just about an hour after getting the call that it was in (earlier than promised, which is awesome), I stood in the store at the checkout counter for ten minutes before anyone would even make eye contact with me. Like I said, they were able to fix it and it came back earlier than promised. This Arvada location is also close to my home and convenient. But sheesh...if you are going to be rude about servicing machines because you only want customers who buy new ones, then don't offer servicing. I'll drive back to my old shop where the technician is kind and respectful and told me "never get rid of this machine!" read more

Incompetent!! they've had my machine that I use for my business for weeks. First they called me and told me that they forgot to send it out after having it since January 29th 2019. It is now March 12th 2019. Spoke to someone yesterday saying that I could come pick it up the next day drove an hour and a half to traffic for them to tell me they have no idea where my machine is and then a two-hour drive in traffic back home from Denver. If anything they seemed annoyed by me??!!!?! I'd save your time and money and find somewhere else! Looking now their reviews are pretty poor, probably can't afford another one star rating so I hope they get their act together. Still don't have my machine still don't know where it is. read more

I am writing this review not because I am dissatisfied with the company but because I have been having trouble with my Bernina 750QE that can't seem to be resolved. I purchased the extended warranty last year and thank god I did!!! I have taken my machine in 5 times for the same problem which started on April 21, 2018. When you need to clean and oil the bobbin area of your machine, you are suppose to push to release lever located to the left of the race cover. At that point, the race cover pops out towards you and you can clean and oil the bobbin area. Well I can tell you the release lever does not release at all!!! Even my husband could not get the lever to release. So now I cannot even sew. I have talked to the repair people at the shop and they said they have never seen this problem before. I just picked up my sewing machine which was in for the same problem on Feb 5, 2019. I went home and the machine sat for a couple weeks. Yesterday I decided to use the machine and it worked for all of 15 minutes. Then I got a message that my machine needed to be oiled (which it was just oiled!) so I proceeded to release the lever and it would not budge again! So I am taking this machine in again for the 6th time for the same repair. And I live in Granby Co so I have to drive 100 miles to drop off the machine and another 100 miles back home only to repeat this process to pick it up. So I have to drive 400 miles each time my machine has to go in for repair. I have talked to Bernina and they said the dealer can send my machine in to the factory. I will talk to them tomorrow about this, because it does not seem like the repair people can help me. This was a $6000 machine which I expected to work for many many years. I purchased this machine in April 2015. It is still under warranty, at least for parts. I just want to fix my machine. I am hoping the owner ROB sees this communication and can step in and help find a solution. Again, I love the store and the people in the store. But we need to find a resolution for this problem. These guys use to be located at 100th and Wadsworth. They are now at 88th and Wadsworth. I've never needed sewing products but each time I go in for vacuum supplies they are helpful and have what I need. Combined with their sale/coupon, I can always find the best deal. Someone always greets you when you walk in (a young man this time) which is important in any business. When the time comes to improve my sewing machine, I will shop here first. We used to love this place! We would go in and they were so helpful and friendly. My husband and I bought a high dollar machine at the sew expo (through Rocky Mountain) because we could get a better deal. Now, because Rosemary and Carol did not get a commission from our purchase (and we know this is the reason because we were told) we can not get good service to save our lives!!! We ordered bobbins ($109) and paid for them. When they did not come in after a month, my husband called and they said they could not find the sales ticket. We took in a machine for service. They said it would take a month... 5 weeks later we called. Oh yes, it's there... they just "forgot" to call. We went in to pick it up and neither Rosemary did not want to help us... and had a poor attitude about refunding (on a gift card) the $ for the bobbins we never got!! HORRIBLE customer service!!! So very UNPROFESSIONAL! DO NOT go here! We are going to try Littleton to see if it is a problem with all of Rocky Mountain Sewing and Vacuum or if it is an Isolated issue. If it is a problem, we will contact Brother for recommendations on where to go for service and update Yelp so others know where to go to receive good service. i walked in needing a new sewing machine. i was immediately greeted by tina. she asked me what i was looking for, and within a couple minutes she had me seated in front of a sewing machine trying it out. this blew my mind. i guess this place has free classes but i have not tried one yet. when i went in, there was a class in progress with some happy- looking customers sewing away. seems like nowadays you can buy everything online. but should you?? it is my belief that there will always be a place for brick-and-mortar stores like this; as long as we all pitch in an support local businesses. i also received a thank-you note from tina which was nice. you wouldn't get a note like that from an amazon purchase, now would you? thank you for your help tina! read more
