Came to check out their Easter flavors and while the mini eggs looked appealing, it was 99% eggs and 1% ice cream. The carrot cake was too spiced for my liking, so I stuck with a classic, whiskey hazelnut

It was a hot summer day and after having dinner in a hot, stuffy restaurant we felt like cooling off with some ice cream so we went to Earnest Ice Cream on Fraser St. Our family was lucky enough to snag a table when we got there. It was super crowded in there. Super full from dinner so I just shared 2 scoops of ice cream with my husband and my daughter. We had coffee ice cream and vegan cookies n cream ice cream. The ice cream here is awesome and the scoops were very generous. Only thing is...I wasn't a fan of how crowded and noisy it was inside. Had so much trouble hearing when people were talking to me. I much prefer the North Vancouver location of Earnest Ice Cream which is more spacious and less crowded. I can hear myself think more at the North Vancouver location. Parking was challenging. There's free parking on the street but only if you're lucky enough to snag a spot. It was very busy when I first arrived. I circled several times before I finally got lucky and a car pulled out of its spot on Fraser St. As soon as I saw that a car was leaving I parked in the same spot as soon as I possibly could.

had to make sure I get my ice cream fix when I'm traveling. tried this place and it definitely did not disappoint. Some of ice cream flavors are pretty unique like whiskey hazelnut. Got one scoop of the matcha ice cream. Friendly staff. Street parking. The place is small but there are seatings inside. Also they provide water for you to drink. Will definitely want to come back.

With lines out the door and around the block into the evening, it's pretty telling of this spot. All the flavors we tried had a strong punchy taste (I'm a huge coffee flavor aficionado) and the texture was dense and creamy as it should be. There's seating inside which is useless when people are crowding around, but at least there's some outdoor curb/bench/flowering arrangements to post up against. I'll subtract a star since I had someone in my party with a severe nut allergy and the staff used the same rinsed scoopers vs having dedicated ones, and it appears they process the ice cream through the same machines so there's a huge likelihood of cross contamination.

I love earnest ice cream! Their ice cream tastes so fresh and I love that they have rotating flavours but also a couple staples so you can either try something new everytime you go, or stick to your favourite flavour. I got the coffee and london fog flavour, and my mom got the cookies and cream, both were so delicious. Not to mention the employees are always so kind, and I love that you get to sample a couple flavours as well.

Fantastic ice cream spot in Vancouver! Easily some of the best ice cream I have ever had, we tried the cookies & cream, strawberry, and coffee ice cream (in a sundae) flavors, all excellent quality and very fresh tasting. Even though they were busy the service was quick and friendly. I was on vacation visiting from the states, but Earnest will be at the top of my list of places to come back next time I am in the area.

#VancouverIceCream #whiskey-hazelnut #year-round-treat Earnest is a good word ;-) IMO, this business is deserving of 5 stars for being an earnestly good local company in maintaining high standards for their products and for keeping up its sustainable business practices all these years. They sell cool ice cream flavors and have a zero waste concept that led to the creation of their own ice cream jars. (Saves a buck each time you bring it back for refills) I find the ambiance at this original Fraser location very cozy, it was especially great to stop by in the summer time with its cool air conditioning and light music. This is my happy place to visit when I feel in need of a scoop of cheer me up ice cream and also when bringing out of town visitors for an ice cream brand that is "only available in Vancouver". My personal favorite ice cream flavors are whisky hazelnut, London fog, salted caramel, matcha green tea... plus its offerings of "limited edition" flavors. Staff are nice and patient so chocolate lovers feel free to ask for a tiny spoon sample of their various chocolate flavors in store to find one to your liking. My default go to flavor is the whiskey hazelnut because it's an unique flavor that is only available at Earnest Ice Cream. Highly recommend this awesome pairing for anyone who likes hazelnut and whiskey.

Stopped by mid week on a hot summer day around 3. There was a small 10 minute line up but well worth...especially with air conditioning inside on a hot day. Sampled the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and the Chewy Pretzel Blondie. Both were great and I was surprised how much I like the Chewy Pretzel Blondie. Went with my go to Salted Caramel again this time, but thinking next time it will be the Chewy Pretzel Blondie. Another positive ice cream experience at Earnest.

Stopped by for some pints! Tried their tiramisu flavor and cereal milk flavor. Loved them both so got a pint each! $13/pint.

Toasted coconut icecream is to die for. It's so delicious and I already went back several times for it

Whiskey hazelnut. Need I say more?? Good vegan options as well. Quick service but I wish they had a better system for identifying who ordered what when it's really busy.

Been to Earnest Ice Cream many times over the years. Place was bumping on a Friday evening. $5.25 single, $7.50 double and $12.00 pints. 18 flavours to choose from. Shared a vegan peppermint patty ($5.25). Decent texture for vegan but not my favourite in town. Peppermint flavour was enjoyable.

Always great chatting with the staff about their seasonal offerings. Good selection of flavors and it's worth the hype and lineup.

I prefer the original milk flavor over the dark chocolate because the dark chocolate is too sweet to couple with the honey comb. Service is prompt and they can get busy at times when people come in batches. The location is great in gastown but not as crowded as I expected. The seating is very limited even though there is additional seating upstairs. There is however a bench outside.

I ordered the Original Peak, with a twist of vanilla and dark chocolate with cereal at the bottom. The first thing that stood out was the airy and fluffy texture, almost lighter than traditional soft serve. The dark chocolate brought a mild cocoa note, while the cereal added a crunchy, slightly nostalgic contrast at the base. That said, I expected the vanilla to have more of a rich, milky flavor. This is not the place for plain vanilla; it's the combinations (think honeycomb, matcha, or seasonal specials) that bring the experience to life. Based on the shop's concept, Soft Peaks is known for using local organic milk and keeping sweetness restrained, which tracks with that lighter, less sugary profile. Adding something like cereal or crunchy toppings makes a big difference. If you're a vanilla purist looking for a strong dairy note, this might feel a bit subtle.

Located in a random spot? Check. Only one staff member working? Check. We've been a couple times and I have yet to see it busy. A few people pop in but no one ever lingers. Most likely because there's no seating. There's also a sign on the counter stating you can only sample 2 flavours during peak hours. There's usually 10 to 12 flavours to choose from; always something unique and interesting. They also have sundaes, ice cream sandwiches and doughnuts on the menu. - Mango raspberry swirl and London fog ($7.00 double) - waffle cone is included and it was better than expected. The ice cream itself tastes a bit denser but still has a creamy satisfying texture. The London fog was fantastic! The mango raspberry was more mango than raspberry but also quite good. - London fog ($5.00 single) - came back on a Monday and they only had four flavours that day. We went with the London fog; just as good as the last time. - Dark chocolate and black sesame with honey ($7.00 double) - the dark chocolate tasted like a fudgesicle but better. Not too sweet and hefty; it was so heavy it almost fell off the cone! The black sesame was delicious. Not quite like the ones we had in Japan but tasty and flavourful. I'll be back again and again! Love the laid back, no frills vibe at Rooster's. One of our favourite ice cream spots!
