First - the space is so comfy. The waiting room is cozy and the room where you actually get the tattoo done had everything you could need, homey touches but still extremely clean. There was soft TV playing in the background that you can easily ignore OR pay attention. Second - the art was just amazing. My tattoo took a while and was painful - which I knew it would be - but they really did everything to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. Included are my before and after photos.

We were the only people in the waiting area and there were two employees sitting behind the counter. Eventually, a man (presumably our artist) came out, sat behind the counter, started eating pizza, and didn't acknowledge us. Without looking up, he said, "I'll take your money, but you're gonna be disappointed." At first we were confused and weren't even sure if he was talking to us. When we said we still wanted to try, he basically said we'd be stupid to get them--while repeating that he'd still happily take our money. He never introduced himself, never made eye contact, and seemed irritated by our presence . I have 21 tattoos and I really appreciate when an artist gives me advice and honestly, I appreciate that he was trying to warn us about wasting our money, but his hostility and lack of respect was a deal breaker. We ended up walking out because I didn't feel comfortable letting him tattoo us. All of this could have been avoided if they had simply told us they didn't want to do inner lip tattoos instead of letting us book. I wouldn't recommend going here unless your want to be ridiculed.

Would not recommend going to a place that cleans their equipment with just dawn dish soap. That's from what I have seen and not to mention how they treat their workers and apprentices. I should only be uncomfortable from the tattoo, not the environment I'm in. Please visit any other shop in Rhode Island for quality!

The price is very reasonable/affordable (I wouldn't of been sold if the price wasn't fair) and the service is extraordinary. I felt like i was welcome and was very comfortable while i was there. I started small with just a Koi Fish and ended up doing a full arm with a dragon and phoenix rising up to my shoulder and the koi and lotus on my forearm. so far only the outline have been done but it already looks great. I can't wait to see how it's going to look once its all fill in. All in all. I highly recommend Jj's Tattoo shop to any one who is interested in having a tat done. once again "the price is very fair and the work is outstanding" Be warned!!! You might like your tat so much you might end up with a full body tat. LOL. I almost did. I went in for one tat on my forearm and ended up with a full arm. LOL
