I've been coming here for over 15 yrs for a GEL mani/pedi and have always been very impressed with their work.

We should have gotten up and left when the nail tech didn't know how to do a coffin nails shape. The tech kept having to ask what to use and seemed like she didn't want to or know what to do. She asked someone else to show her a coffin nail but we would have been waiting 15/20 minutes for that person to show her, so went with an almond shape instead. Nails came out awful. One thumb could have used a lot more shaping, well all the nails could have, but thumb looks lumpy. One nail even has a bump in it. Someone else had to come do the design. The design, goodness it would have been better if they said they couldn't do the design. Instead it looks like a little kid did the design. Would not recommend. read more

An overall 2.75 star review. Parking is shared with adjacent businesses in a strip mall like area along a busy street. As a first time customer, it is not comforting when I ask for a list of services, you tell me that you'll tell me later how much my service will be. If you raise your prices for whatever reason, it should be something the customer can reference, not based on who's aware of the increase and the new amount. It then becomes subjective and not the standard. Plenty of nail polish colors to select from for your pedicure or manicure. The issue is, they have nail polish that has a surcharge since it is considered "long wearing". If this is my first time here, how am I to discern which is the standard price polish if they're all grouped together? In addition, let the customer know before you apply so that they can make an informed decision and not experience surprise at check out from undisclosed fees. Spacious and clean, I was greeted upon entering. I do dislike if you're sitting in the back of the salon yelling at me up front. I purposely didn't reply so that she could get up and come close to interact with me. My preference is if you're talking to me, talk to me and not the entire salon. There was a brief wait before being instructed back to the pedicure chairs. The lady who prepped the station was nice and I truly wished she had been my technician. Instead, some other lady sat down and asked if I had chosen my color and began clipping my toenails without inquiring if that's what I wanted. I had to intervene when she began using the file and buffer aggressively across my toes and nipping me a lil bit. I asked her what she was doing and she simply looked up and began again. The process was sterile (not in a hospital kinda way but devoid of interaction). At that point I realized that she or the shop was more focused on quantity and not quality of service. The nail polishing process was sloppy. She spilled polish on me a few times and instead of using something. To proper remove it, she used her thumbnail and later followed it up with an applicator brush with nail polish remover to clean up the mess. This was due to not blotting the brush before applying the polish (base coat, polish and then top coat). If you take your time this is something totally avoidable. It was to the point where polish was in between my toes and getting on my own sandals. This frustrated me. I went up front to sit under the UV light and fan to ensure my polish was dry before departing. If not, you'll notice air bubbles or the chance of smudging is higher. I sat for 15 minutes and noticed a lot of people coming near me to scan a QR code. I look at it and they encourage patrons to pay via Venmo. They charge $2 if you want to pay by credit card but the preference is cash payments. I agree that credit card fees for merchants has increased but they need to have this information listed at eye level at the register for better awareness of what is expected. I asked to check out since no one seemed worried that I had been waiting. After being told my pedicure would be $43, I inquired why. She said because I selected a long lasting polish. As a newbie to your salon, it would be helpful if you had told me this prior to application and checkout. I told her I wasn't paying it and she told me she was just busy and could I just pay. Nope, I got time today. The guy who sits near the front tells her to charge me the listed price. See my paragraph above for the problem of not having a current price list. He said I'll have to pay extra next time. Wrong! This will be my first and last time at your establish. So the listed price was $38 which seems high for the level of service rendered. To be done, I paid cash and carried on smartly. I had high hopes for this spot. Realizing that I won't get the level of service I'm willing to pay for and deserve, I'll add this place to my one and done list and chalk it up as a lesson learned. read more

I thought she would put down something over it and on the table, but nope. She took out a very small square piece of paper towel. She took an open dirty tray with the clippers etc out of her draw to begin. The tray was not sterilized or packaged as it would be if they were clean. The cuticle clipper was rusty and the nail file, which looked like it used to be white, was black! This place clearly does not care about using clean equipment to do your nails. Rose has been doing my nails for almost a year now & even though our family moved out to Warwick, I'll still trek to the island once a month to see Rose. When Rose does my dip manicure... IT LASTS! Today I made a same day appointment for a fill and repair of three nails with a gel polish finish. I was there for 2.5hrs before I left (service incomplete). First, I explained everything I wanted and the information was translated/conveyed from my owners son to the nail tech who was working on my nails. She began to use a nail tip to attempt to get the rest of the broken nails off. I told her that was painful and I'd rather soak them off (nail had already broken down to the tip of my finger so it was not long at all). While soaking them off she then tried two more times to try and use the nail tip to remove the nail in which caused my already weak and wet nail to hurt even more. She proceeded to start the shape and the fill. Secondly, during the shaping process, I currently had almond shaped nails and waited to go to coffin (just cut off the tip). She messed up all the shapes and rounded some and slanted others. Displease with the shape, I asked if she could fix how flat the nail was (add a small hump like the others) she was unable to do so. After 2.5 hours of sitting in the chair and watching my nail tech be corrected by the owners son and the nail tech sitting beside her, I asked to speak to a manager/the owner. To be clear no one stepped in to fix the terrible service experience. Almost as if it was a night of practice nail technicians and no one holding them accountable to provide decent services. Third, after showing the owner and her agreeing they are not right, she could to service someone else and told me to come back tomorrow if I wanted them fixed. I paid for my service and went up the street to a nail salon I was driving past to get my nail shape and color corrected. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I do not recommend this establishment at all! Service was terrible to say the least!!!! DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY SERVICE. read more

I went to a place on Thames st. and was so disappointed in the lumpy dip manicure I was given, I drove past Rose Perfect Nails one day while running errands and I'm so glad I did. Unhealthy/ unsafe practices. As I was getting a pedicure, one of the female nail techs blew her nose while running water for another client. After blowing her nose, she used the same tissue that she blew her nose with to wipe down the arm rest of the pedicure chair. Gross!!! Then, she looked at me and walked to the back and did not wash her. As if she dared me to say anything to my technician as he came back to service me. i'm not sure where to start... i had asked for light green acrylics . the woman asked me if i wanted to do tips with the green dip and i said sure. ( mind you i've never gotten this done so i didn't know that the green would become brighter) she did the tips and they were very bumpy! then she painted them and they were a witch green. i thought it would fade out when she bluffed them. we removed them after i said i didn't like them, my hands are stained green!!! i washed my hands and she used lots and lots of removal. i got a manicure after because i didn't want to deal w this anymore... she left green under my nails and i realized that the tips had melted onto my skin. there is a picture of my sisters toes that they messed up. ........ i was in there for around 3 hours read more

Booked a mani-pedi for me and my daughter for college graduation. TWO HUNDRED dollar later and a job that looked like a 2 year old did it; no clean up to the polish at the least either - thick and you could see the various layers. I'm leaving my first feedback so no one else has to have the same experience. It was too late to find another place so we had to redo it ourselves. Neither her "manicure" or pedi saw cuticle treatment, trimming, moisturizer, etc and her polish was a dip and was SO thick it was just awful. The 'manicurist' also nicked/cut three of her cuticle areas and fingers with the drill so three of her fingers had bright red cuts that swelled and got inflamed - not a look you want for your college graduation. For this price and service, we could've gone to the salon at Newport Marriott or the like. read more
