I was met by the manager/owner(?) who paged an employee to assist me in selecting the proper length and width of the bolts and nuts. Matt examined the broken piece and selected a proper replacement bolt for each of the broken pieces. I thought that I would be spending my afternoon with pliers and a wrench. But to my surprise, Matt attached the bolts and tightened the nuts. I definitely recommend Richmond Hardware for their courteous employees and expert service. Thank you.

The only downside to this place is their hours.They close at 5pm - cant go after work and they are closed sunday - which is 50% of the week available to me for doing home repairs etc. The short of it is that this place is an awesome hardware store and I much prefer supporting them over the big chains.

Weeks went by and I would drop in to check occasionally, "Did you do that thing?" and they gave me excuses, so I gave up and just did it myself in an afternoon. This isn't my grandfather's hardware store, where the clerk knew things about the houses in the area or the soil; local expertise. The stock is the same cheap Chinese junk that you can get anywhere, nothing is really built to last. Despite the calls to support local businesses, I don't see them out doing things in the community that might merit my loyalty. There's no lollipops for the kids or a big fat cat like when I was a young man. It's staffed by surly, bearded boys who politely tell you they are sorry but we don't stock what you are looking for. So if you haven't been for a while, trust your instincts. It's not that good an experience.

They have a paint selection as well which is crazy -- they are very efficient with the layout. This store stands out over other shops in the area for two reasons: the staff are super helpful, and the items are priced incredibly fairly. The staff is always eager to help and I have never had a negative experience. I get items here for half or less of what they'd cost at other home stores on the street. It's hard to find loyal and caring employees yet some are there but I have seen to many frustration among customers at this location. Unfortunately you can not satisfy each customer and not every customer is easy to deal with. But being visible and helpful and will go a long way. Personally if I need a project done, I compared Lowe's to Home Depot and find almost every time Lowe's wins out. But Home Depot can make a huge impact with more Managers around and known with name tags that say MANAGER. This will show customers that they will get the best direction and help. Seasonal employees I feel hurt business cause they are NOT FOR THE COMPANY AND JUST NEED A JOB.... advertising for Seasonal in a store should be removed and only hire a better representative for Home Depot. On line shopping seems to be the new direction and brick and mortar stores should downsize and have satellite locations with minimal delivery!

When you try to make sure that they are, they reply with "I heard you".I did not get her name because she is VERY SLOW ( took approx 15-20mins just for "curbside pickup"). Had to carry heavy items back to car when I specifically did curbside for this reason. The Employee that brought it out (another female) told me " if they can carry it, then I can" not even knowing my medical condition. Employees at this location need better training in every aspect of customer service.
