Great work and great, friendly service. My Honda Ridgeline was having misfire issues, and I finally narrowed it down to it needing either a valve adjustment and/or a piston ring job. Either way, with over 200k miles on it, it was going to be (hopefully) less expensive to swap the engine. I called around and Rockys miraculously said they had a used engine that just came in, and they could work on it later in the week. Unfortunately, if turned out that the engine wasn't exactly compatible. To try to make a very long story short, I ended up leaving my truck there for almost 2 months. I had to order am engine from the mainland that took 1 month to arrive. Once it did, they worked on it right away, and it was done within a week. They did have to change out several items from it, for to is age, but I finally got it back, and it's working great. The overall cost was a bit higher than expected, but it is what it is. The only reason for not giving them 5 stars is for to the fact that they didn't realize that they didn't have a compatible engine in the beginning, so I wasted 3 weeks, and spent over $600 in car rental fees, before finding out they didn't have a compatible one, and I needed to order an engine. At least the work is done, my truck is running great, and they were very responsive the entire time. They do great work. read more

I don't think there are enough words on the English language that can help me articulate how GRATEFUL I am of Rocky's Auto Repair! They saved me and my car!! I drive an older solid Toyota and with age, small details come up. As I was parking, my stick shift went completely "buttery loose " and it wasn't taking the command to Park, Reverse, or Drive. As a female that don't know much about cars, I COMPLETELY PANICKED! I called Rocky to see if he could help me and he knew what the issue was right away. The shifter bushing piece had broke. He was so reassuring and made me feel at ease! It was like talking to my dad or my Pops, and out of the sudden my problems and worries were gone. I called Rocky this morning because I couldn't get my car to start. He was unable to come down because he had some other jobs that morning and the earliest he could come was around lunch. Nevertheless, he was still super helpful. He asked me some questions about the issue like what happened when I turned the key and what kind of noises my car made. He said the symptoms sounded like the battery was the issue and that if I could get someone to bring me to an auto parts store like O'Reilly, they'd test it for free and I'd be able to get another one if that was the problem. It turned out he was correct about the diagnosis. The O'Reilly employee also tested the alternator to be certain it was the battery. The alternator was fine. I called Rocky back afterwards to thank him for the advice. If I need repairs in the future, I will definitely call him. Thank you, Rocky! read more

My Ac stopped working within the first week of January and after being told my Evaporator core was leaking, I called around the island to get some quotes. Although the quote was in the same general range as others I had gotten, Rocky was very personable over the phone and didn't act dismissive of my problem which was a nice thing to hear because I am of the female gender and it still feels like a lot of mechanics will take advantage of that Just because I'm not as well versed in car workings. After dropping off my car, I received a call that both him and Bobbie had problems starting my car and recommended I get a diagnosis done to fix either my Clutch Switch or my Ignition Switch. This whole endeavor had already been a lot more than I was expecting at the start of this year and I was about to try and replace both myself but when I asked Rocky about just replacing the clutch switch without a diagnosis, he cut me a deal and ultimately, I ended up paying for him to replace my ignition switch after he diagnosed the problem. After picking up my car, my engine started overheating on my drive home. I called Rocky and he told me to bring it back in. One of the other mechanics checked out my problem and found they forgot to put water in the car to help prevent the engine from overheating after replacing my evaporator core . So, even though they made a mistake, they fixed it with no questions asked. I even told my dad about all of this and he said that Rocky and his team are good and honest mechanics and that if I have any more car troubles, I should definitely contact them. The next day I had to go get the tap, I tapped it as much as I could then Rocky came back and finished the job in under an hour. No extra charge. I decided to call Rocky's Mobile Auto Repair because of all of the great Yelp reviews I read. Because I rely so heavily on Yelp reviews when choosing businesses to work with, I decided it's important I write this bad review. So I called on a Tuesday, explained my car problems to Rocky and we set an appointment for him to come out to my house at 9am that Friday. On that Friday, 9am comes and goes and I decide to call him at 9:45am incase something happened or he was running late. I got his voice mail and left a message (in my normal, nice- not irritated sounding voice) about me being his 9am appointment for that day and if he could please give me a call back. I have never received a call back from this guy. My appointment was on 7/12 and today is 7/22. I'm pretty certain he has no intention of ever returning my call. So I don't know.. Some people seem to have had great service with this guy. He honestly was just a huge waste of my time. read more
