Visited this pawn shop for the first time to look for vintage jewelry to purchase. I looked at a couple bracelets and could see from their price tags that they were significantly overpriced for their size/stones. (I am an avid vintage collector and know prices) The store was nicely organized with plenty of room to browse. I purchased a vintage micro mosaic brooch that was inexpensive at $40 which is the going price for this type of brooch on Ebay. Meh. I had heard that shopping at pawn shops you can find some good deals on jewelry, but from this first experience I feel like I received some false information. The place was clean and the men who worked there were polite and provided great service, so for that they get 4 stars. They did tell me that this was the nicest of all their pawn shops. read more

I have to say something because I had a very poor experience almost every time I have gone to this location. I usually only go into a pawn shop if I am in a real pinch and they seem to have mastered the dark art of taking full advantage of desperate people while playing with their emotions in a condescending manner. They have misrepresented items and sold them to me and then gave me 25% of what I paid for it when I brought it back. As well as undervalued items that I know are genuine and insulted my intelegence. I understand that they need to make a profit but I wish there was a pawn shop in the area that was more community, customer service driven. This store never seems to be busy and I can see why. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra miles to go to a different location. Two thumbs down. read more

Tried to sell some items here. Tried. Although there were two, maybe three employees, and only a handful of customers, I couldn't get anyone to help me. In fact, I couldn't get anyone to acknowledge my presence. No eye contact, no "I'll be with you in a moment". No anything. So, after 20 minutes, I left. No sale. No need to ever return. read more

I have been to this pawn shop twice. They were courteous and very accurate in their business dealings with my necklace.

I bought a platinum ring from Rocky's for a reasonable price. What I like about the company is how many locations they have. I was able to visit multiple stores before landing on the simple ring that I chose. The staff varies in quality. I talked to very seasoned jewelry sales people, and young people just taking the job. Your experience with the staff will vary, but the experience of finding what you like, and making an offer is a no-brainer. As a business owner, I really respect what Rocky has done and their advertising for the business. They have billboards across the land, and take up the back window of the local taxi's. The bottom line is that you see them. They don't seem to waste as much money on electronic advertising, and they seem much more permanent than companies that spend a lot of money on google search, banner ads, and social media. Give them a shot! You never know what you will find. read more

Don't let them rip you off!! Went in there today to try and get a short term loan. They offered less than 10% of what the jewelry was worth. I have a written appraisal from a trusted local jeweler for the value of the jewelry I was putting up as collateral. Thank goodness I didn't take this places word! The people who work here weren't wearing masks and when I asked the guy working one on one with me to put one on, he got upset and only wore it for a few minutes before removing it again. Save yourself the trouble and danger. They have other locations where they actually care enough to mask up. read more

I walked in and was immediately helped by a friendly young man. I asked if they bought silver. He said, "Yes, we are experts at this." I showed him what I brought in, which was a METALOR One Kilo 999.0 Fine Silver Bar with the certificate. He took a look at it and asked me what I wanted for it. I said, "Silver is going for about $17 per ounce right now, so something around there would be nice." He said, "Because of the size of this, I'll have to get my manager to approve it." She came over and was looking at it and seemed very perplexed and was turning it over in her hands trying to figure out what it was. Within about 15 seconds she said, "Because of the weirdness of this, I'll have to pass." It was clear she didn't know what she was looking at, nor did she care to find out. Weirdness of a certified metal bar? LOL Maybe some training would help here? Anyway, I went down the street and sold it for $540, which I would have taken $500 for. Your loss! read more

The staff here are amazing people. My Husband and I had to pawn some of my valuables to go on a work trip. When I came home my house had been burglarized. I'm so glad that I had my most precious items at Ricky's for safe keeping. I've also found some amazing pieces there. The staff is so friendly and inviting. Horrible Palm Desert staff I have never felt belittled my entire life Til I went to this place... I bought 3 pairs of earrings from them, then after the sale I tried to sell some of the jewelries that I didn't want anymore and the guy said "we have conflict of interest here" and told the girl with him (another employee) "she just bought earrings and now trying to sell stuff..." both giggling Hello people??? You guys know I could hear you right??? SO WHAT!?? Poor customer service if they are the owners of this place they needed to be TRAINED on CUSTOMER SERVICE, it doesn't matter if the people are buying or selling or pawning you guys SHOULD PROVIDE great customer service or at least have a proper WORK ETHIC! My first and last encounter with this place. Their website has a place for you to put in information about what you'd like to pawn (did that) and no one ever responded. A waste of time. So I took in a brand new camera in the box that had been used once. The girl behind the counter was obviously bored and in serious need of a personality and some training. I explained that I spent over $400.00 on the camera and the extras I bought. She flatly told me without looking at it that it was worth $40.00! Her exact words were "we only pay 10% of what an item is worth." I also said I have a laptop computer with me. Her exact words were "we don't buy used computers." Obviously she hasn't read their website...or she likes to make up things as she goes along or Rocky's is a sham with false advertising? My advice is go anywhere else or sell your items any other way then subjecting yourself to this fiasco.
