I rated this company 4 stars because too many 5s looked (frankly) paid. I'm not paid. This hasn't been fun. But sharing what I learned about mouse/rat companies: there are exterminators who will trap some critters and there are companies that solve the problem (of critters). Google cost of exterminator near you (I did), and you'll be baffled by Rodent Control's price. But it's not the same service. Exterminators trap and spray. Remediators do the same, but also fix. (It's partly a construction job.) Background: I made 10 calls and had 5 in-home inspections in total. 2 of the 5 were "buggers" (Orkin and Terminix) who say they do rodents but sell you bug prevention. Terminix also added cost for the REMOVAL and replacement of attic insulation ($6000). I don't have insulation (yet). I saw their nearest competitor of the same class of service, Rodent Stop. Excellent inspector, felt confident in them too, but I went with Rodent Control. Here's why. Job Details: called Thursday, inspection same day. I saw other vendors Friday, decided on Rodent Control, then worked through contract over weekend (thank you Ivan). I confirmed final details and paid my 20% deposit Monday. They were here the next morning at 9am. From the start, it wasn't a sales pitch. They sent Ivan who gave the most thorough inspection (photos!) of attic, crawlspace, kitchen, and roof. Even better, and reason I chose them: Ivan was in charge of my job, onsite during setup and to close/inspect (over 2 hours). It gave me 110% confidence that what was said (promised) at inspection by sales team would 100% happen day-of. Two other coworkers spent 9-5 completing the job. They built a screen, fixed screens, patched holes (cement), cut boards, plugged, baited, disinfected, sprayed, cleaned and cleared up. If you're looking to get rid of invaders AND solve the problem down the road, I highly recommend Rodent Control. As for my 4-star vote: I'm changing the scale, this is meant as a 9/10. Updated: Their front desk manager saw my review and called to apologize. She said they fired the customer service agent who helped me, and asked me to give them a second chance. Rodent Control came out and they did a free inspection. The owner then called me and texted me to update my review. I said I would, but I said I wouldn't update my rating. My experience with them was fine. Nothing great, nothing bad outside of my initial review. ---- Purely based on 1 phone call: the customer service agent who called me was unfriendly, rushed and incompetent. I explained we had a duplex property. To which she asked clarifying and repetitive questions that all landed to.... "We have a single family duplex with attached walls." Then she said they couldn't do an estimate without entering both units, despite just one being infested. I explained we have a tenant. Then she asked again if we owned the house. "Yes, we have a tenant and we own the house. " When I agreed to inspecting the entire property tenant included, I asked her to explain their initial visit process to me and she said "uhhh what do you mean?" I asked her to sell, I mean explain to me what it's like to do business with them. Do you do a free estimate? Do you do treatment same day? Hello, any information on your business? Then the real kicker was when she said they don't do appointments on Saturday! "The way you do the small things is how you do the big things." I had discovered that I had rodent in my attic due to the usual sounds. My wife wanted the problem solved asap. I looked through the local businesses in my area and found Rodent Control. I read through the reviews quickly, and called to schedule an appointment. They scheduled me for a Sunday afternoon, 2 days after I called. That's fast! Sam came out to inspect the property around the outside. He then looked in the attic and found plenty of evidence that we had critters. We discussed a plan of action, and scheduled it for Monday the next day. The crew arrived ready to go with a plan to seal up all access points. I can't say enough about the professionalism and general politeness of the crew. Their task is to seal up all access points, sanitize the attic area and set traps for any rodents that may be up there. They worked all day and the quality of work is way above average. They wear booties on their shoes when in the house and they are extremely knowledgeable about their business. They are returning in a week to follow up on the traps and address anything else that needs attention. A friend recommended Rodent Control to me because of the high ratings they received on Yelp and they were local to our residential property in Burbank. But most important of all was their specialty in RODENTS, and not a generic "Pest Control". We had a RAT problem that are much more intelligent and elusive than ants, roaches or whatever bugs are thrown into the term "Pests". Tom Kaminski, our service representative had the superior smarts and heart to tailor Rodent Control's expertise and tools specifically to our RAT infestation in our two story house built over 70 years ago with multiple entries/openings, which probably looks to a RAT like a giant piece of Swiss Cheese. Joking aside, Tom carefully and methodically investigated the house for entry points and risk areas. Our other quote from another "Pest Control" company was the same price but they also wanted us to enroll in their "monthly maintenance" program with baited traps. After hearing Tom's strategy to totally eliminate a RAT's ability to exit or enter the house as THE defense, made sense. And he went on the explain that there should be no need for follow up maintenance with rat traps since Rodent Control's strategy is to prevent RATs from exiting and re-entering the house. Tom is courteous and professional. They came and did a great job closing up points of entry and cleaning and sanitizing inside the house and setting indoor traps to catch the last RATs that will ever live in the house. read more

I (begrudgingly) agreed to their high price to rodent proof my house. I paid $1k to rodent proof a much larger house 5 years ago in the bay area so to get quoted 3-4x that felt like I was being overcharged but I hate rodent so much so that I was willing to pay it. Another local company was about 25% cheaper with a 2 year warranty and one was about 35% higher with a lifetime warranty, which is hard to beat but who knows how long they'd be around or how long I will live for that matter... I digress... so I decided to go with the middle of the road with a 5 year warranty. 2 guys worked for 6 hours and I have to say they did an incredible job. Of course the final test is whether the rodents return but visually everything looked like they were done by true professionals. After they were done cleaning and proofing, they set 20 traps and will return in a week to check them. Overall I am very happy with the service. I also appreciated Devon, the inspector's professionalism. I just hope they honor their warranty should I need it in the future. read more

They set up an appointment, and Joe came to the house and walked me through what needed to be done. Thank you Rodent Control! I have three properties that Sam came out and inspected. The first property we knew we had a problem. It was an army of rats that found their way into the attic. A few weeks before this happened, I cut down a lot of bamboo in the back yard. Well the rats decided that they were going to get back at me for destroying their home. They tore up the ducting and were having a good old time until Rodent Control came out. Sam was amazing identifying the issue and the many entry points. He sent out a crew that was spear headed by Mario. Every single man who was working that day showed the utmost professionalism. I wish I knew all the guys by names because I would mention them in this review. Seven dead rats later and the problem is solved. Both Mario and Sam told me that no rodent will get into my property. It is sealed tight and so far a month has past and there are no signs of rodents. As for my other two properties, they are both 750 sqft bungalows. One tenant saw dropping in her laundry room which is located outside in the back and she heard something in between her bathroom and bedroom walls. Sam came back out and he identified that rodents in the walls are mice and the rodents outside by the laundry room are rats. Sadly my other property also had rat droppings under the home. Mario and his amazing crew came back out and closed up all entry points and set up traps. I hope the rodents were outside when they left, but we will find out soon when the guys come back and check the traps. Lastly, Rodent Control is pricey but I know that they did a top notch job.
