I had my heart set on eating Rodeo Cafe today. The yelp hours and sign outside the restaurant said it was open until 3pm. We got here at 2:15pm and they told us they were closed. I don't live near here and was bummed out Rodeo Cafe did this without notice. I've been a very loyal customer to Rodeo Cafe before it started growing, very disappointed. I guess that's what happens when restaurants start becoming food chains and forget about their customers. Quantity over quality of service!.... Smh read more

Was excited this was opening. I've been to the Norco one. They just opened so service is a little slow, but we were seated right away and it was all worth the wait..... The food is phenomenal, it's like they don't do multiple tickets at a time so you get your meal, hot and fresh. The workers were all smiling and friendly. We've been 2 x already lol read more

The service was great , very attentive . We ordered the green chilaquiles , great flavor . That is usually a concern but the food was well flavored it was not bland . Ordered the menudo with no pata. The Good: place looked great, service was great..... The BAD; the ranch dressing was sour, the meat on the french dip was old, the biscuits where as hard as bricks, chicken fried steak was just ok, was told by server and casher, that the ranch and the biscuits was made a week ago and the cook not use to the microwave yet. read more

This place sat pretty empty for the past 3 to 4 years. It was a Mexican restaurant but obviously there were a glut of Mexican restaurants in the TriCommunity (Pinon Hills, Phelan and Wrightwood.) Finally we went there to check it out and as we approached the parking lot, I started to think we come back a different day. I was floored to see the parking lot pretty much full. In spite of number of folks already inside, we were greeted quickly and seated within minutes. Usually a new restaurant will have training issues but that wasnt the case. Everyone was well experienced or well trained in customer service. Since this is our first visit and I had surgery earlier in the week, I ordered waffles They were tasty and served hot. I didnt finished the waffles considering but I am looking forward to finish them off this morning. There were a lot of working cowboys and their families. To me their presence added an extra validity of new restaurant. So give it a go. Im sure youll be delighted. read more

I have lived in Pinon Hills for 20 years and was excited to have a new restaurant here something different was nice. I have tried this place a handful of times. Today I ordered a waffle which tasted sour maybe a quarter of it was eaten and I was charged the full price. As a waitress I would have never charged a customer for something they did not eat and to top it off when I got my bill for the second time I was charged and extra meal and had to let them know so they can take it off. So check your bills people. read more

We got here about 2:00 (they close at 3:00) and had a very tasty lunch. I had a beefeater (the parmesan crusted bread really elevated the sandwich). My husband had the rodeo burger, and although it was a bit overcooked, the beef was still very moist. French fries were perfectly cooked. The only thing I would say is that many places have started charging a lot for sodas, including this place at $4.00. The positive is that our waitress was very kind in providing a to-do cup with a fresh refill. The place was very open and clean and I would not hesitate to go back. read more

terrible service took 45 minutes to get a drink. I went there with my family at 11:30 AM and we left by 3:30 PM. All of that was waiting and the food was terrible. My brother got a burger and it had hair in it and we knew who it was, it was one of the waitresses. I got the BLT and the bread was terribly hard cut my mouth 20 times never going back. read more

I've lived in Pinon Hills for over 20 yrs and was so excited to try this place. What a waste of time. Waited to get my order taken. My biscuits and gravy came out, I can't believe this was served to a customer! Old biscuits, gravy was disgusting, I sent it back. Ordered soup, waited waited waited, asked where my soup was? Was told they were cooking it, I said, how long does soup take??! Kept waiting, my soup never ever came! I got up and left. Won't ever be back. It was better when it was Casa Ortega. Great service. Breakfast was amazing. We had the hot links and eggs with biscuits and gravey. The biscuits and gravey are some of the best I have had. Spanish omelet was delicious. Coffee is typical diner coffee, but fresh and not burnt. Will come back again and try dinner and the menudo. read more

My wife and I stopped by for a quick lunch and we both ordered a burger. The burgers had good flavor, our only complaint was that we ordered the burgers medium rare and they both came well done. We did inform our waitress and she also told the kitchen staff. Looking forward to another visit soon. First time going after locals raved about how good food was, we went on a Sunday at 1130 , it was packed, but still we got seated right away, it did take some time for food to arrive , as expected, but food did not disappoint. Husband got ham steak with bone that filled a plate, son got chicken fried steak, I got the rodeo Tortilla, think that is what called, like a burrito with red sauce on top filled with egg, cheese, peppers and onions.! It was amazing both son and husband said would get next time. Flavor was outstanding! You can tell all ingredients fresh. I wanted to try something different that they are known for, this will definitely be our new family breakfast/lunch spot !! read more

Went by three days in a row and the restaurant was closed by 1130 each day. Each time I went in they looked open and had customer but claimed the kitchen was closed. The sign outside says open daily 7am-3pm. Would love to experience this restaurant myself but unfortunately they seem to have issues staying open. Not a very good look when first opening. read more

I have lived in Pinon Hills for over 30 years and have seen the ownership change numerous times. I support local businesses. This establishment needs help. I went there for a To Go order during the lunch and they were not busy so there was no excuse for my order to be incorrect. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, bread toasted, no butter, double toasted, no condiments, Swiss cheese and I paid extra for the onions, tomatoes and lettuce. What I received when the woman met me in the parking lot was a buffet of food in the bag, everything dropped out of the containers. I received toasted bread drenched in butter, a mix cheese of some sort, barely any onions, wilted lettuce and tomatoes that looked like they were for the chickens. I was very irritated after waiting almost 30 min for my to go order, and it wasn't what I ordered. I was starving so I attempted to eat the grilled chicken breast that was in the bag out of the box and it was so dry. I spent $18 on lunch today to support our locals and could not even eat it. I was so disappointed. I did not want to give your restaurant a star but in order to post this review I had too. Good Luck read more
