It was all delicious and the beef was more tender than meat that I normally purchase in a grocery store. There was a lot, a lot, of fat on my untrimmed tri-tip, but it was delicious nonetheless. If they could somehow get into a beef counter situation where customers can see what goes on in the butcher shop itself, that would take them to five stars for me.

It's a cool looking store with lots of great stuff. Everything is beautifully displayed. This is a great place for someone who loves the barbecue. On this day we chose some seasoned chicken thighs, and a package of seasoned chili Verde. The people are great. They are very helpful with giving you ideas on how to prepare the different meats. We wandered around and checked out the variety of products they offer. The store is laid out very nicely. On checkout, we mentioned it was our first visit there, and we got two free sausages of our choice. Can't beat that. We cooked the chicken thighs that night. They were tender and delicious. We had the chili verde day yesterday. We slow cooked it in the afternoon, and enjoyed it in the evening. This is a very comfortable place to shop and we're looking at going back. I asked about their signature marinade to get an idea of flavors and they stated it was like a Mexican polo flavor. I made it with some white rice and it worked out really well. The chicken breasts were so thick! You could easily filet them and double your amount. They also didn't appear to have the white lines that I see in the supermarket chicken breasts. I've read those are due to hormones in the chickens. Is it true? I don't know. They have a nice variety of cuts and if you like sausage, they have several flavors! Definitely worth checking out. The shop isn't very big but they have pretty much all the basics you would need if you're planning a BBQ or a simple meal for you and your family. Overall, the shop is clean and tidy. This is no fault of theirs, but whoever designed that parking lot, well, lets just say they didn't consider larger trucks driving through. The parking lot layout for that entire area is just wonky.

We get the Asajo cuts because they're so easy to enjoy. They cook up super fast on the grill and they're soo juicy and flavorful with each bite. You cannot go wrong buying the Asajo cuts from this meat market. Come prepared to spend a lot of money but you will not be disappointed. When I'm LA we go to the one in Pico Rivera. I will definitely consider driving from Visalia over here knowing this meat market taste like the one in Pico. The customer service was real good too.
