My dad and I spent two unholy nights at this rattrap excuse for a motel. The door to our room was missing the deadbolt and appeared to have been kicked in. The wall containing the outlets for the TV, microwave, refrigerator, and several lamps lacked power, so no TV for us (not that I watch that pedestrian crap, but still...). The wall behind the toilet contained a large moldy void. I can only presume the motel was built over one of the seven earthly gateways to hell and that the hole was a portal through which demonic spirits enter and sprinkle moldy residue throughout the bathroom. The air conditioning unit sounded as though it was powered by an XF-84H "Thunderscreech" aircraft (look up that arcane reference!), yet struggled mightily to keep the room at a comfortable 72 degrees. Well, enough of the bad. What of the good, you ask? Well...umm...the bed was free of urine, feces, and blood, so that's a huge plus. Rodeway Inn has my permission to use that line in their advertising. Also, for $52/night, I suppose I shouldn't complain, but this is Yelp and I'm a spoiled brat, so here's a one-star review anyway. Are there worse places to spend the night? Certainly. Mendoza Prison in Argentina would probably score worse. After all, the toilet worked, so I didn't have to pee and poop in bottles and bags. Paid for the SMOKING room a month ago for two people. When I arrived they said I needed deposit because there are two of us and there aren't any smoking rooms left because I paid for it a month ago..very dirty and stained chairs. Temperature about 100. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! if i could give -100 stars i would, NOTHING abt this excuse of a "hotel" is good. me, and my husband were looking for a affordable hotel in the area last minute for the night, and this was the closest. First room they gave us reeked of cigarettes smoke, the lamps were broken, the bed was dirty. It had very visible stains as if they haven't been washed since the previous people stayed there was hair in the bed and dirt all over it. we asked for another room. The second one was even worse but all in the same way so we asked for a third room and finally settled for that one. WORST DECISION EVER!!! Start things off the room still smelled horrible but the beds were clean and I checked for bedbugs and didn't see anything since we were just staying for the night. We just stayed in that room. Everything was fine until 6 AM the next morning I woke up to what sounded like keys trying to open our door. I thought it might've been someone outside, but then I realized when our deadbolt lock clicked open, it was our room. I immediately woke up my husband and told him someone was breaking into our room. We had the top locked to where the door could only open to a certain extent. Come to find out it was the guy from the front desk, he opened it as much as he could, My husband said hello to see who is there he said he was the guy from the front desk and started trying to explain some thing but then just kept saying sorry, said he would be at the front desk and shut the door. We jumped up and put our clothes on in the dark which were on the floor. grabbed our stuff got in the car and went to the front. I stayed in the car while my husband went to go check us out and see why he came into our room. He claimed he didn't know which room we were staying in and that's why he came in, he never knocked or tried to contact us in anyway he just barged in. While I was sitting in the car, I felt something biting me on my ankle. I looked down and it was a group of fleas where is shown on the picture. then I looked at my house shoes which were fuzzy and there was at least 30 fleas on each shoe. I jumped out the car and took my shoes off only to realize they were all inside my sweatpants inside and out I tried to knock them off my shoes, but there is still so many. we never seen any fleas when we went in any of the rooms, but it's very clear that they were embedded in the carpet. I ran inside to tell the guy at the front desk and hoping of getting a refund because overall, our experience was just terrible and all he said was I'm sorry ma'am it won't happen next time as I'm picking at least 30 fleas off of me. He said he would have someone look at that room the next day so he could get the problem with the fleas fixed. I didn't take any pictures of the rooms, but they were in horrible shape. also there was only one plug in the room that we could plug our phones into because the other ones didn't work our chargers wouldn't stay plugged in the wall and would fall back out. i wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. stay at your own risk. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would, walked into the lobby with low expectations. The lobby looked absolutely awesome. We got to the room and was instantly disappointed. Only reason we didn't leave right away is because we were visiting from another state and knew no one in that area. Stained carpet, electrical wiring out not even covered or wired right broken sink counter, leaky tub, stained walls. Broken bathroom vent, not even a deadbolt. Methhead knocking on our door at 11 pm , mold growing on the tub. Absolutely will never go to a RODEWAY INN without looking at the room first. Gross. read more

ROACHES, Bugs, nasty, unhygienic, not sure what all the stains are on the carpet (as very last inch is stained) carpet torn and ripped, stains all over the ceiling, walls, head boards and not sure why the tub was the color it was, nor why the sink has been repaired so many times it just down right disgusting. Walked in and walked right out. Just down right NASTY and unsanitary. Choice Hotels should be embarrassed, ashamed, and disappointed by this property or to even have their name on it. Well... it's a Rodeway Inn. I've never personally stayed at one, so I really didn't know what to expect upon arrival. However, I quickly found out as to why they didn't have much occupancy. The rooms were incredibly outdated, and ours specifically smelt like a two pack a day smoker had been in it previously (and my bed sheet was ripped, with no mattress protector on under it). The "lobby" if you want to call it that was honestly kind of a disappointment but as soon as you see this place and begin to walk into the building you can almost expect the lobby to be disappointing. Bugs are definitely questionable and a possibility here, but none were encountered during my stay fortunately. The ONLY plus sides to this place was just how cheap and affordable it was (and it really is cheap!) and how happy we were with the man that checked us in, he did a good job. Those were two good benefits to this stay! This place honestly has so much potential to gain way more business if it was kept up a little bit more and they renovated it and made it more modern. It's in a decently good location that could attract way more business if only they did the aforementioned things. Believe it or not, I would actually stay here again. First of all, I am not one to give out negative reviews unless truly disrespected. I would give zero stars if I could!! Horrible, horrible customer service and a scam. Lady at the front desk who seems to be main manager and owner had me sign a $50 no smoking clause and put my card down around 3pm when I checked in to the front desk. Okay, great I do not smoke. I go to meet my friend at a brewery for his birthday and we get back that evening and finally walk into the room. It has an old Smokey smell. I immediately think oh no the deposit and go to inform the front desk. It is a different lady at this hour who was working the evening shift. I inform her it's room 102 and she says oh yeah that room is known for the smell you are fine and won't be charged. Eh this sucks to stay in a room that wasn't as advertised but okay I paid $70 for this motel and I get the quality I paid for I think; whatever. Im just sleeping here anyways. The morning of checkout the original lady is there and I inform her of the smell and that I spoke with the lady overnight and she accuses me of smoking and being a terrible person and customer. Very disrespectful and condescending towards me. I ask her to please come to the room with me and we can look it over together and she refuses and says that I still won't get charged since I said I didn't smoke. But it would take 2 business days to be refunded. Low and behold 2 days later I have my charge go through. Now she did not charge me the actual $250 smoking fee because she knows I didn't smoke but tried to see if I let the $50 get lost in the shuffle. I called to complain and ask again this morning and she cussed me out over the phone and said there's no way to prove I didn't smoke. Extremely frustrating and scammy and now I have to go through the hassle of disputing with my credit card TLDR: don't stay in room 102 because it smells like smoke but is advertised as a non smoking room!! Carpet torn up, there was still coffee in the coffee maker from previous people, dirty tub, dirt on wall above toilet, and the friendly management. I'm moving from Texas to Colorado, and my sister was flying in from Dallas to help me drive. Her plane was delayed, then canceled, so she spent the night in Dallas. When she arrived in Houston the next morning, her luggage didn't make it! So I asked the hotel manager if I could remain in the room until my sister arrived (which was at 1 pm), and the answer was NO, unless I wanted to pay for an extra night. The front desk lady was very rude and kept insisting that my payments never went through. I just looked that my bank statement today and seen that they charged me twice. They stole money from me. We stayed in a nonsmoking room, the room still smelt like a faint cigarette. There were questionable stains everywhere. I have stayed there off and on for the last four weeks. It was only because of price. It is a rundown smelly place. They attempt to make it smell good but the industrial cleaner that they use permeates everything! I brought my own sheets & my own pillows. I was afraid to turn on the blue lights. There were stains on the carpet. Several times I found German roaches in the bathtub. It is extremely cheap. There is a reason that it is so cheap. Internet does not work and they don't seem to want to fix that. Television is horrible as the remote did not work and they did not want to fix that either. I have moved to another hotel and am paying $50 more per night which is a bargain compared to staying there and being so frustrated. How do they keep the association with choice hotels? While Ash try's his best, he is overwhelmed. But there's a lady (think that it is his wife) who could not care any less about anything that you have to say. She has a dead fish eyes and sincerely does not care! You would get better results talking to one of the roaches in the room! read more

As a Choice Privileges member, I was appalled at the rudeness of the management staff. Common courtesy and respect are something that they do not have. We booked a room for a SHSU graduation, but due to the terrible thunderstorms that blew thru, I was unable to continue with the reservation, so we called several times and finally at 9:15am in the morning of the reservation date and spoke to a very friendly young man named Hunter, who didn't know what the policy on cancellation, but he put us on hold to checked and returned to the line to confirm our cancellation. We did have other family stay, keeping their reservations. They can tell you their stories of their stay, it is not ours to pass along. We heard from our family of other problems with the man & woman at the front desk at night. We called to RECONFIRM that our room was cancelled, the woman continued to speak over me, not allowing me to explain the issue. The woman said that she was with a customer and she hung up on us. We called back and a man answered, saying that they FIRED Hunter because he cancelled our room, costing them money and that we still had to pay. Next time that we are in Huntsville, we will not be booking a reservation at this hotel. Choice needs to perform an investigation into the management, rooms and upkeep before the city does. Judging from the reviews of those who have stayed onsite, although old, there is a difference in being clean and deplorable. If Hunter did get fired, good for him, he can now go find a better employer. read more

They made us share towels. They booked a family of 4 but refused to give us a towel each to shower. The owner blamed it on lack of housekeepers. But we talked to 3 housekeepers and there were only 4 cars on our whole side all day and they told us they couldn't give us more towels than 2 per day or they would get on trouble. We don't want to steal your stained towels! We just want to dry off with dry towels and not share wash rags! Unsanitary! Dirty place. Hairs on beds and linens with stains. Bed dips in so much in the middle only one person can sleep on it and the night latch on the door is broken. None of the outlets work. The plugs just fall out so we can't charge our phones and they don't offer coffee. They had 3 housekeepers working together for hours on 4 rooms and apparently the Indian owners like everything, including their guests, to be dirty. How gross is sharing wash rags? This maybe the worst hotel experience i have ever had. Nevermind that the management and the fromt desk staff are all English as a 2nd language types where comminucation is a hit or miss thing.
