Dexter would probably rather live at daycare than with us. We've been bringing him 2-3x/week for daycare for the last 2.5 years or so, we've boarded him probably half a dozen times and he gets a bath once a month. We've never had any issues and he always comes home properly worn out from a long day of play and he loves everyone who works there (and they all love him, too!) It's also done wonders for his social skills. When we first started bringing Dexter, he was extremely dog reactive and was completely unable to focus on anything if there were other dogs nearby. Now that he gets to play with other dogs regularly, he's much more well behaved on walks when we pass other dogs. read more

Our Giant Schnauzer Levi goes to daycare about four days a week. He has been boarded there and is groomed at Dawg Tired. It always makes me feel great that they love our boy so much. The thing that really impresses me is they know each dog and understands personality and needs of each dog. The entire staff are well versed and professional. My dog usually bucked and fussed when I tried taking her to doggy daycare but she jumps and kisses each staff member that takes her leash for her bi-weekly visit. Taking a look at their facilities, I see that it's a lot more spacious, clean and doggy minded than some of the other local competitors. There were doggy swimming pools and an indoor/outdoor running area and hardly any doggies in dog crates. My dog enjoys coming here and comes back to me worn out and happy. read more

They really care about dogs and our doggo loves this place! We take him to daycare semi-regularly and board him at least once a year here. There is a required temperament test before any services except grooming. They have minimum requirements for vaccines and spay/neuter. Safety and health is a priority. Large and small dogs are separated. The staff is great at giving each dog attention and addressing any individual needs. We've never had any issues and our pup is always excited to come back. The groomer, Melissa, does a great job, even though our pup is not a fan of having his nails trimmed. I love the photo updates posted to the Facebook page and I can see how much fun my fur-baby is having. I definitely recommend this place! read more

I picked my dog Mac up from about a week of boarding to find that he had a gaping wound in his front right leg. Upon pickup, one of the unpleasant employees was quick to rush me out the door and saying repeatedly that Mac did not need to see a vet and it was just a small scratch. Upon further evaluation of the "scratch" it was clearly infected and very deep (literally to the bone). I brought Mac to the vet the following day and was informed that he did indeed need stitches, required sedation for the stitches, needed heavy antibiotics, and it was infected. This all cost nearly $400 in total to treat what was deemed as a "scratch" by the employees and owner at Dawg Tired. Dawg Tired did not call me at any point to inform me about the injury, or seek the medical advice of a vet. They claim to have treated him with antibiotic ointment, which was a treatment plan they came up with all on their own (again, did not consult myself or a veterinarian). While Mac has boarded here in the past, he has also come home with two of his harnesses and a rather pricey flea collar completely in shreds. When I brought all of these issues to the owners attention, he somehow found a way to place the blame on Mac and offered no sort of solutions, compensation for the vet bill or destroyed property Mac had been returned home with on three separate occasions, or even an apology. I am very disappointed as I was boarding my dog here several times per month over the last year, as I am active duty military and travel often for work. I would absolutely warn against bringing a pet here for ANY type of care, as there is clearly no protocol or policy in place for destroyed belongings, serious injuries to the pets, or even an unsatisfied customer. If I could give negative stars on this review, I absolutely would. read more

My husband took our sweet boy Gage here to get groomed last week and added a deshedding onto the grooming package. When we first picked him up he looked great BUT a few days later we noticed dried blood in his fur and A LOT of it. Upon further investigation, we found scabs covering his body. We brought our GS pup here after another daycare stated they couldn't meet her needs any longer. We absolutely love this place as does our pup. We used their pet grooming services for the first time today. It is more like a dog spa then a dog grooming place. Our dogs smelled so good, felt so soft, and had the best cuts. When we pick them up from our old groomers, they usually are high strung and pulling us to the door to leave. When the staff brought us our two small breed dogs, they looked so happy, happy to see us but also happy because they we relaxed. They were not panting or high strung like at the other groomers. I believe we have found the perfect place for our dogs grooming from now on. read more

They took very good care of my dog--a small Yorkie. I know dogs cannot talk but he was clean and appeared happy when i picked him up. The staff seemed to care about him and were friendly and polite. He stayed 2 nights. read more

I have used Dawg Tired a couple times. I would post a 0 star review if possible. The most recent time I was thoroughly offended by the customer service that I received. The situation being recently during Hurricane Irma. I had the unfortunate luck that my flight back to Georgia was canceled. I was in and out of service on flights and when I landed I received a voicemail telling me that they would be closing soon, but never mentioned a specific time. I worked to call my coworker who was picking them up and he said he would get there before 7. When I got service again the next message I received said they were closed and I could pick them up tomorrow morning. My coworker that was picking them up made it to the facility by 6:00pm and everything was shut down. I still had not made it back to Georgia so my coworker got them in the morning and had to pay 48$ for boarding fee. I reached out to get the matter resolved because I was never told I would be charged for the night due to the facility closing early. Had the staff been specific about the time in either voicemail and the cost I would have been able to relay that message and assure pickup. That should not be an expense that a customer should have to pay due to their decision to close earlier than in policy. Additionally I was criticized for not packing my dogs enough food which is great to know that they chose to not feed them anything for 14 hours, as well as other owners were no problem. Personally I don't think that is relevant or matters in this discussion. When I was setting up the reservation I spoke with 2 different people that I would not be the person to dropoff/pickup my dogs and provided and authorized a coworker contact information. I verified that same information when I went in prior to the trip to pay for the boarding. and provided an information note with the dogs belongings with info. I am not arguing the safety or decision on the staff to keep the dogs, I agree with the decision. what I am upset about is the fact that I am required to pay due to their closure and lack of specific communication. Especially when it does not cost them anything extra no staff/service required during those hours. The accusation that they had no idea that someone else was picking them up is ludicrous because that was all on the reservation information and they accepted and released the dogs to this individual, whom they never contacted when they couldn't reach me. Lastly, I was criticized because I did not call after closing. If someone leaves a message that says we are closed and open tomorrow, typically people don't try to call because that means no one will answer. All and all I am thoroughly disappointed in the customer service that I received in attempt to resolve this issue, because it was unexpected and abnormal situation in dealing with a natural disaster. I was not in town and had no ability to get in town to get my dogs and it is clear that the owner and team are more concerned with being right versus keeping customers. I travel a lot through work and both myself and coworker will never be using DawgTired again. So the company has effectively lost minimum of 2 customers continual business for 48$. See owner Email reply below: "I was there Monday when my employee called you at 4pm. We waited 30 minutes for a call back and informed you that we were closed and needed to know when they were going home. Your response was "he hasn't picked them up, he's out of work already. I will call him and let him know you are closed due to the storm." 5pm rolls around and we have heard nothing back and tried calling again with no answer. I then made the decision after you had already told my employee earlier in the day they would be picked up by you by 4pm. We had no knowledge that someone else was picking up your dogs were being picked up by a friend. We gave you an hour when the policy is to wait only 15 minutes. I am rather disappointed in the lack of communication on your part to us when we called asking for an eta as we were closing due to power outages. Everyone else we called had no problem picking up their dogs. I personally was there until the storm was over there was no attempt from you calling us back or your friend trying to pick up the dogs. I had the phone with me all night. You never even called just to make sure your dogs had enough food for the night. This was a hurricane and safety of everyone was considered. This wouldn't even be an issue if your dogs were picked up at 4pm like you said when you called at 12:40. The charges will stand as you failed to call us back to let us know what was going on. If you don't understand that I put the safety of the dogs and my Staff first then this is not the kennel for you. Anyone else in my position would have made the same decision." read more

They receptionist here is very rude. The lady I interacted with as an older African-American lady and it was clear she had zero interest in being there. I was told to pick my pup up by a certain time and I got there right on time and she wanted to charge me a late fee. I asked to call management and to have her handle the situation. The receptionist walked away as I was asking her questions, said she doesn't care that I have to pay that fee, and that there is no one in management to talk to. She said that management/owner is out of town. Appears as tough she wanted to pocket the money herself. There are tons and tons of grooming places around town and this place just isn't worth the disrespect. On top of which, I got the de-shedding package and extra brushing and she came out shredding just as bad as she went with. I have been going to other places in Evans and Grovetown and have been getting a MUCH better service. (She tried to lower my price so I do not leave this review but it is not about handling the situation after you realize the client is leaving a bad review, but to handle it on the spot because you want to be fair and provide good customer service). read more

When we got our first dog we weren't sure about daycare services but when we started using Dawg Tired we loved them. The workers were friendly and polite and our pup always came home exhausted which was awesome. But when they had an issue with her during daycare no one informed me of the issue any time over the course of the week that she went in multiple days, even though I ALWAYS asked how she was when I picked her up, so it was a complete surprise when I was told she wasn't welcome anymore. I asked that evening if the owner could call me the next day to shed light on what specifically she did that was an issue and they took the request down on a note. When I didn't hear for a few days I called and they again took a note. It has been almost 2 weeks now and no call to explain what it was that she did that was the problem. All I wanted to do was discuss the issue and see if there was a solution that didn't involve kicking her out of daycare which she loved and got great socialization with other dogs. It is too bad we couldn't come up with a positive solution. I guess on to the next day care to see if they find a problem with my pup. We boarded one of our dogs here and will never board our dogs again. We did the trial run, and he did great. He has struggled with anxiety and is a rescue so I was very proud to see him trusting other people again. After several days of day care we left him for a long weekend. When I picked him up the next morning the lady told me (in front of about 5 people) that he could never come back because he tried to jump the fence and the couldn't assure his safety. This guy has NEVER tried to jump any fences before. He's also a small dog so how can they assure the safety of a large breed if they can't a small breed? As a pet owner, my heart broke for him and I was extremely embarrassed in front of all the other customers. Since boarding him, he has gone back to being extremely timid and anxious. I don't know what happened to him, but for him to be this way he had to of been treated poorly. It makes me sick to know I left him at this place and trusted these people. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone by the way they treated me and my dog. They have you pay a fee for temperament trial to see if your dog gets along with other dogs and to make sure your dog isn't aggressive which makes sense for the safety of the dogs. Well, my dog passed the trial run and started to get boarded there when I go out of town and go to the daycare once in awhile so she can run with other dogs while I'm at work. I boarded her over the weekend when I had to leave out of town and when I got back and picked her up, she smelled like urine as well as her bed. My dog doesn't pee in the house nor on her bed so not sure why she smelled so bad and as well as her bed. I didn't make a big deal out of it and took her home. The next day I dropped her off for daycare for the day. When I picked her up I decided to confront the owner and ask is there a reason why you return dogs smelling awful after they get boarded and the owner said that sometimes they don't realize they smell cause they get used to the smell which I get it, but still. After that, the owner decides to say that my dog is no longer welcomed to their place because she jumps. Um, isn't this a dog day care? Don't all dogs jump? Am I at the right place? He said she jumps on top of a table that I guess is by the dogs play pen and I'm like isn't someone always supervising the dog cause if there is then she shouldn't even reach the table. He's like well yes there is but they don't see all the dogs at once. Um ok.......then when he goes back to get my dog since she was there for the day for daycare he opens the door and my dog was on a table and goes see what I mean and I'm like well is there someone in there and he goes not right now....again....confused. So, I guess my dog wasn't welcomed anymore cause I confronted the owner and because she is a dog she is not allowed to jump. Confusing, I know. As I grabbed my dog and left out the door, I heard the owner talking about me and laughing with the customers that were behind me which was very unprofessional. So, I just want to go ahead and put this out there so the next potential customers are aware of what might happen to their cat/dog. read more
