It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but my recent customer service experience has been one of the most frustrating in my life. I hope this review can help others to avoid my terrible circumstances in the future. I brought my 2017 Tundra in for a 90k service to Rodland. I am very consistent on my services and would go to Rodland for my big mileage services. The service went fine although it was $1000 (expected). Roughly 10 months later when I was driving on the freeway my transmission drain bolt fell out, fluid drained out, and my transmission is toast. I brought my truck to a local mechanic where I was stranded. That independent mechanic was adamant that the cause was either the bolt not being torqued to spec or a new crush washer not being properly installed at my last service. I did not hit anything or sustain any damage. The mechanic thought for sure Rodland (who last touched my transmission and serviced it) would take responsibility and help me with a new transmission in some form or fashion. I called Rodland and asked if they would be willing to tow it to them (or I would pay to) and help me with this service issue. Rodland denied any responsibility, said I could tow it to them, but that I would have to pay full price for a new transmission and they said other shops would probably be cheaper. After escalating the issue, they said they would look into maybe getting me a discount on a new transmission. After looking into it, they stated the transmission is not available (on back order) and all they could offer was for me to pay full price for a rental car from them in the meantime. No loaner (they don't offer them) or discount on rental was offered. I ended up ordering a new transmission through a different Toyota dealership who was willing (Marysville) and I have been quoted a wait time of roughly 3-4 months for delivery. So in conclusion, going to the dealership for my 90k service ($1000) lead to my drain plug falling out 10 months later, transmission failing, zero offer of customer service help (anything would have made me thankful), and now a 3+ month wait for a new transmission from Toyota. Please for your sake ALWAYS make sure your drain plugs are properly replaced and tightened after your services. I will now ALWAYS do this. I love Toyota, but this was (and still is) a real tough pill to swallow. I hope this review helps Rodland and/or a customer in the future. read more

He helped me decide what kind of service/diagnostic to do for a battery that I was having trouble with, and provided an accurate time frame for the service and battery diagnostic (~1.5 hrs). I waited in the reception area, and there was also a lovely lady who was overseeing the space and offered coffee and a biscotti right when I walked into the room. My car was ready in 1 hour, and JuanCarlos reviewed the battery results and gave me tips on how to improve the charge better. I was very disappointed in the service I receive at Rodland Toyota. After I had noticed some accumulating oil on the front of my engine on my 2023 Tacoma I took it in to be diagnosed. The verdict was given as a 'seepage' on the timing chain cover which would not be covered under warranty. The service advisor commented that if it had been a 'leak' it would be covered. After returning home I removed the skid plate and noticed a significant leak with wet oil on many of the components and an obvious drip coming off the bottom of the engine. The subjective wording in the difference of a seep and a leak seems very deceptive. I fully intend to go through arbitration with Corporate Toyota to get this significant leak repaired. read more

I asked him several questions about financing options and specifics about the vehicle. I was not able to come in and see the vehicle but I let him know I would get back to him. A few days later I contacted him again and wanted to see if he could help me hit the numbers I had in mind for payments and such. I write this review to try and help the next guy or gal who finds themselves looking at Rodland Toyota for their next new or used car. A friend was a lifelong Rodland customer but now refuses to even get his car serviced from them (even though it is only a 10 minute drive). I live over an hour away from Rodland, but found a car I liked online. Due to my long distance drive, I coordinated the purchase over the phone. I worked with Jesus. After some jockeying on price for a trade, Jesus agreed to MSRP on the new car and an agreed upon price for the trade. I confirmed with Jesus over the phone before I left my house. My wife heard the call on speakerphone. When I arrived, I met with another dealer, Charlie, as Jesus was busy. Without discussing price, they had my trade listed at the agreed upon price and the new car at MSRP. However, they marked the new car up $500. At first, Charlie wasn't sure why saying that every new car gets the $500 package. Then, he came back telling me it was for window tint. Window tint that I never agreed to, asked for, or was otherwise told would be installed. Further, it wasn't listed online, in the sales documents Jesus provided, or in any messaging. This was also explicitly against my wishes (MSRP only). Despite this, Charlie told me the tint was already discounted from the $999 it normally would cost (Michael's Toyota of Bellevue installed the same tint for me for $250 and still profited). Ultimately, Jesus agreed to discount the markup in half fully acknowledging we agreed on MSRP (he disagreed on the agreed pricing on the trade). However, I can't bring myself to do business with people who will willingly lie to make you drive two hours to get you in the door. Jesus said we never talked price on the phone even though I told him only an hour prior with my wife on speaker to corroborate. Charlie lying and telling me window tint at $500 is a steal compared to the $999. Even Jesus admitted that was a lie. I would expect the sleazy bait and switch tactics from a used car dealer, but not an authorized Toyota dealer. If you find a car you like here, try and get a different dealer to trade for it. Or else, read the fine print with a magnifying glass or I'm sure they will try and scam you too. read more

They sold me a GR Corolla with 3k miles on the odometer that was a dealer car. It's on 13k miles now and my clutch is fried. They blamed me for driving aggressively and wouldn't fix it. I do not drive aggressively. It is well known that there is a break in period for manual cars in the first thousand or so miles. If that isn't followed it can drastically shorten the life of the clutch. They know this and yet now on top of buying this car just few months ago I now need a clutch replacement. Just a horrid dealership. Imagine going to buy a new $70k truck and wandering the lot for 20 minutes and not getting any help. When you go inside for assistance, there is not a single employee inside, not even a receptionist / greeter. When someone finally appears, they are dishonest about invoice pricing when you find the attached documents in different trucks detailing the ACTUAL pricing including invoice and dealer holdbacks. When you inquire with the salesperson, he tells you those documents are 'fake pricing. Needless to say, I left confused and bought a nice 2025 Tundra Platinum at Marysville Toyota for a great prayer ce with amazing service. read more

I did not buy that night, but have left countless emails and voicemails with no return correspondence at all. Am I a serious buyer? YES. I bought my 2025 Tundra Limited at Swickard Toyota because the Rodland team couldn't care less about returning a message or providing basic customer service. To top it off, I even reached out to Managing Partners, Allison Olson and Lindsay Crow via social media and neither returned my call either. Poor service starts at the top. I had an amazing experience at Rodland Toyota today. I first built a car at Toyota's website. Then, they showed me local dealers that had the exact build I created. I sent a message asking for availability, and they confirmed the vehicle was available. My wife and I drove up there to see the car. Unfortunately, I did not read the email thoroughly. They did clearly indicate the vehicle could be "reserved". I missed that, and that's on me. Anyway, I went inside and I talked to Frank Gandarias and Cindy Tran. I explained what I was looking for. They did not have the "exact vehicle" but they had one that was pretty close. I went ahead and test drove the car. I liked it, but wasn't ready to purchase. Regardless, I provided them with the keys to my trade, which they evaluated fairly according to what KBB said I could get in trade. They also provided me a complete breakdown of the purchase costs, including showing me up front that there was a warranty/service contract included in the pricing they provided. I would have purchased that coverage anyway, so having it shown up front was appreciated. I'm 60 years old, and if there are two things I can not stand in this world, it is buying a car, and buying a house. But, this experience was different. I don't need a high pressure sales pitch. I don't need a 4-square. I want to have a conversation with the dealership about what I want, and the prioritization of different features, etc. What I experienced today was great. I felt listened to. I felt that they wanted to put me in a vehicles that met the needs of my wife and I. They understood the importance of the heated steering wheel, the need for crossbars and a tow hitch. They discussed my needs with me in sufficient detail that I know they understood what I wanted. While I did not make a purchase today, it was not because of the dealership. The interior of the lower class model simply doesn't meet the needs of my wife and I. But, the dealerships personnel were truly professional and I appreciate the way they listened and tried to help. I didn't buy today, but when I do, I will go here first. read more

We had an absolutely horrible experience with Rodland's after buying a truck from them recently, so I want to share our experience as a warning to others. I wish I had read the other reviews before giving them my business -- a very big and expensive lesson has been learned. In July of this year, we bought a 2019 truck with very low miles. We were told it had only one previous owner, so we felt confident it was a safe purchase. Exactly 43 days after buying the truck, it wouldn't start and appeared to have an electrical issue. After towing it to our closest Toyota service center (not Rodland's), the technicians discovered that the wiring harnesses had completely melted due to a canopy and lights that had been installed on the truck before we bought it. The repair took one month and cost us over $10,000. We immediately reached out to Rodland's while the truck was still being repaired to see if they would be willing to help, considering we had owned the truck for less than a month and a half and had only put a few hundred miles on it. Their answer was no -- not one single cent. They didn't offer a loaner car while the truck was in the shop for a month, not even complimentary car washes for a year... nothing. Their response was simply that we bought the vehicle "as is" (aside from the 3-month/3,000-mile powertrain warranty), and they weren't willing to assist in any way. We weren't asking them to cover the entire $10,000 repair -- just to help with the cost of parts or cover a portion of the bill, given that the problem clearly existed before we purchased the truck. Even the Toyota dealership doing the repair was shocked that Rodland's refused to help at all. They felt so bad about how we were treated that they knocked a few hundred dollars off the bill and threw in some freebies to soften the blow. Rodland's does not care about its customers. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

I had a great experience at Rodland. We had the pleasure of working with Nick Rodriguez. This was my first time working with Rodland, let alone a Toyota. I traded in my car and got fair value, Nick also helped my wife and I find a reliable and affordable used car. Nick did not pressure us into anything and remembered our needs and requirements. There was no add-on sale pushed and he even removed things based on our initial conversation, removing the whole stereotypical back and forth.
