First of all, avoid this place. Trust me, you can do much better. Unless you're into the check engine light coming on the day after you buy a vehicle because they have reset the codes without fixing the problems. In my opinion, if I wanted to deal with shady practices like that, I'd go buy from a private seller. Corn Motors cajoles you into removing your review of their poor services via threats to stop working on any issues you're having with their cars. This means they are extorting positive reviews and leaving a lot of people they've screwed over pretty much silenced. This is what they attempted to do with me and many others. The story: I bought a car on a Saturday with a check engine light on because they said, "We just got this car in and haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Bring it back Monday. Whatever that is, it will be repaired." No doubt? Okay, cool. Brought it back, left it there. They reset the check engine light, called me and said the car was repaired. I picked it up, and...nope. I groused about this to them and they said bring it back AGAIN and they'd have their off-premises mechanic fix it. They gave me the name and address of that garage, which was Budget Fleet. No doubt another shyster business, if they're working with Corn Motors. "Drop it off and tell them what's going on." So I did. In the meantime I had an actual garage, Conway Motors, give me a thorough inspection. As you can imagine, Corn Motors went back on their word, and didn't fix anything. Even though that was the agreement and they sent me all the way to Budget Fleet, they wouldn't cover the costs to repair anything. Mind you, the car they sold to me is unsafe to drive this entire time. So, yeah, I left a bad review. That's usually what happens when you screw people out of almost 5 grand by selling an unsafe vehicle, with your word that you'll make it right, and then just decide not to. That's what happens when you're a shady bunch. I get back in touch with them about jerking me around on the car, going back on their word, not doing the repair they said they would, telling me they did it when they did not, etc. That's when they tell me they can't work with me anymore because I left a bad review. How that pertained to the problem I do not know. Yes, after they broke their word, and jerked me around, I did leave a review saying the absolute truth. And how quickly they noticed. They must sit there hour after hour refreshing Yelp. Maybe if they spent more time worrying about doing right by their customers and less time sweating about what the internet is saying, they'd have a better reputation. If you don't want bad reviews, my advice is this: instead of blackmailing people to take down their bad reviews, stop earning bad reviews in the first place. I'd start by providing better, more honest service. Another thing that highly bothered me was the push to remove my mask every time I was there. The cutesy jokes about how it isn't needed, and it's hurting their feelings. I just internally rolled my eyes. I was not yet vaccinated and kept it on, thanks. I guess it goes well with how they reset the check engine lights on their cars. A practice which should be illegal in Washington state for used car dealerships. So the car you buy isn't the car you're actually getting. The reviews you read aren't the reviews that people actually left. Fraudulent practices in car business, and plain old liars in personality.  Shady salespeople, and a con of a dealership with what appears to be *a ton* of fake five star reviews. My advice? Dig a little deeper into what the lower rating reviews have to say. It's a pattern. This place is bad juju with a horrid reputation. If the salespeople here can screw you, better believe they will. If I wasn't really interested in the car I would have walked away. Finally I told him I was able to come in to see the car but I was traveling a long distance so I wanted to make sure it was available. I was 30 mins away from arriving to the dealership and the dude calls me to say. Sorry the car isn't running great. I sent it to the mechanics so it's not here! WTF!? They never did get back to me as promised to say what was wrong with the car. Guess they don't need customers! Well, tell ya one thing. They don't like cash offers. I offered them cash and they refused. Then they lowered the price online to less than we had offered them when we tried to deal. They didn't even attempt to call me back and let me buy it. I called them back and said I was interested and they said well if it's still here we will sign paperwork. So surprise surprise it wasn't there the next day. Now had they just sold it to me initially. They would have made more CASH money. But no... Just a little mad. But, guess it wasn't meant to be. Sales staff are upfront about known issues with the vehicle and explained they had yet to put a whole lot of effort into it. Got a 2013 Outback for $1500 less than any other around and Blu book. Car in great condition. They took an extra $100 of to go towards repairs (car needed new rotors and wheel bearings in the front). Got exactly what I wanted because I'm completely comfortable fixing my own vehicles. Other than that the valve gasket is seeping (not leaking). Total repairs about $600 including front brake pads that were about 30% left. Still an awesome deal, offered great financing. Making the decision to buy a used car is tough. Finding the one you want is even tougher. On a Saturday, my hubby and I decided it was time to send off our used Mercedes to greener pastures and find a pick up truck which would be more practical for our newly purchased home and all the DIY projects we want to get done. We looked online, started dialogs with various car dealerships. Some we just dropped by on a whim, others we emailed with them ahead of time. And basically used the entire day to travel all along Puget Sound area from Bremerton to Puyallup. Even went to a location that advertises as having "Trucks, Trucks, and More Trucks". What we were finding was it was really hard to find a good quality used truck for under $10,000 and less than 150,000 miles. The market has really tanked when it comes to used trucks because of the government incentives to buy up all the used trucks in 2009. As a result inventory is low, and the demand for used trucks is high. Tired and confused we headed home, but not without checking out online one more location. Corn Motors in Everett. From the get go, our experience was completely different. Within a few minutes of sending an email we got a very nice phone call from John. He sounded so down to earth and personable without sounding like a sleazy car sales guy. He let us know the car was available if we wanted to swing by the next morning. Before going to bed, we got a really great email from the owner of the establishment. It was really cool to get a letter from THE Mr. Corn. Owner of the dealership. I thought that was special. Next day, we rise early and head over there. As promised the truck was there and boy was it a beauty. One owner, well taken care of, low enough mileage to be reasonably priced within our means and the sale price was well under $10,000. This was rare find! We knew we had something very special. Again, John never put pressure on us. There was only one catch. The truck was GIGOONDUS!!! Ford F-250 with extra cab. You can literally hear your voice echo in the back of the truck. We had assumed a smaller truck was the way to go, but finding one that didn't have engine problems and many miles on it was looking like a no go. And truth be told the gas mileage on a smaller truck is not much different. The smaller engine is worker harder with a heavy load and is therefore burning just as much fuel if not more than a big engine that isn't working as hard to get you to where you need to go. It felt like we were betraying our values by getting a bigger truck than we had intended, but it was a gem of a find and it did fit the criteria that we were looking for. John kept things flowing and a very pleasant pace. He even knew how to pronounce my name which earns big brownie points with me on any given day. We even brought our dogs and they were very accommodating. Both sales people on the floor made our doggies feel at home. We talked about making a deal with our Mercedes as a trade in. And in all fairness, they were very transparent and gave us a fair shake of a deal. We were able to finance a portion of it, and in the end I'm proud to say we left there that day with a new truck! Many times with a used vehicle, you're initially excited then it wears off afterward as you realize the hidden issues involved with the purchase. However, my hubby and I had quite the opposite reaction. We left there feeling like we weren't quite sure if we had made the right decision, but given that we had done all our research, we knew this was the best deal we were going to find. By the time we got home with it, and the next day checked it out some more, we were REALLY happy with our purchase. I had been in touch with them for about 2 months prior to purchasing, was never pushed or pressured, checked out 5 other dealers and still came back to Corn Motors. While it's a small dealer, they are a family-run dealership and it shows. They care that they sell quality cars and they stated they get their inventory from local auctions and have an outside ASE certified mechanic inspect their vehicles and do any work they see fit. Above all, these guys even came to Seattle to pick me up so I could get my car with ease. This was a MAJOR stress reliever and I'm thankful. I am not a huge Yelp reviewer but our experience at Corn Motors was too good not to share. This place is a little hidden gem on Evergreen Way! John (who helped us out) really went out of his way to put us in a car we love and we are super thankful to be able to say he did just that! The electric vehicle I purchased unfortunately had some issues a couple days after my boyfriend and I brought it home, and we just figured we were out of luck and should have done our research on this specific kind of car. But that's where we were wrong. John called to check in and got word that we were having a few problems with the car and he immediately made some calls, did some research, and went above and beyond to take care of us and get me back in a car that was I was happy with and that was also functional for a long distance commuter like myself. Long story short - he did far more/worked harder then he needed to and I'm that much more grateful that we chose this lot to buy from. It should also be noted that we were back and forth between the dealership for a few weeks or so trying to sort everything and the entire staff at Corn Motors truly helped in every way they could and genuinely wanted to make it right for us, which made everything so much easier. Excellent experience from start to finish. I found my car online, emailed about it and got a response back within hours from Chris. We set up a time to test drive and he called me the morning of just to confirm. He was with another customer when I arrived so David helped me. Everyone was super friendly, honest and flexible. My dad and I felt confident that we were being treated fairly throughout the process. I live in Tacoma, we checked out a couple places in Puyallup but I had my heart set on the Hyundai Azera at Corn Motors. I loved it even more when I saw it in person. I was test driving it within minutes of showing up. The entire process was over in less than an hour. And that includes the sellers and my dad swapping ghost pepper stories. Do NOT ever buy a car from this dealership. Let me share with you a little about our nightmarish experience. My 21 year old son saved and worked his butt off to finance his first car. They assured us it was a good running reliable vehicle. Within the first three days it was in the shop twice --needed to catalytic converter replacement. --but they refused to even replace that telling us it was a fuse until the car told them otherwise. Shortly after that they called him and said that his financing fell through and in order to get appropriate financing he would need to come up with another $500 down. --which of course he did. 10 days later my son was in a skiing accident. Broken bones kept him from driving the car for eight weeks. When he was healed and ready to drive, mind you the car hadn't even been driven 2000 miles since purchase and maybe for a total of 10 -15 days, crank bearing shot engine gone. My son literally drove the car to work and back between the time it came out of the shop the first time and his skiing accident. This dealerships response to the pile of crap they sold him for almost $7000? "Wow that's unfortunate" and "if you can get another mechanic to prove in court that our mechanic did something wrong we will sue him". The truth is, this car was unreliable and a pile of shit when they sold it to us. They knew it. They got their money from the bank but left my son high and dry financed to his eyeballs in a car he didn't even get 2thousand miles out of. they're not losing any sleep knowing he now has no transportation--and still needs to come up with car payments so not to ruin his credit. I didn't even mention how long it took them to answer his calls. One entire week he sat by the phone and waited for them to respond--I listened to them belittle and scold him on speakerphone. Disgusting untrustworthy slime balls. The a epitome of used car sales. They don't care about the customers as long as they get their money. They don't care about what kind of crap they're selling you, as long as they get their money. Do not ever buy a car from this dealership. EVER. Update: after telling me I was unreasonable over and over again on Facebook, and telling me that because I got involved they would do nothing to rectify the situation with the unreliable mechanical mess of a car they sold him, the dealership selectively removed their comments--to make it look like I wrote comment after comment--with no response from them. CORN MOTORS, in Everett, is one-of-a-kind in every way--all the best ways! I'll start with the most important qualities the CORN brothers (CORN sales associates?): INTEGRITY AND HUMOR. Check. And, I've always I've always put a lot of "stock" in a car "sales associate's" good character, which, before you get down to business, is great coffee (Costco French Roast)--same as I buy. Check. Check. Check. Good omen to me! I had first talked with Jerry McClain on the phone about a car I really wanted. They hadn't even had it a day, but after all my research I KNEW it was the perfect car for me. Then I had my friend call to say I was enroute to Everett and to hold that car, even though he had had several offers (Many car dealers tell you that, but it was true). Jerry kept his word! That's amazing for anybody to keep their word these days. I was due for some good luck: a car with low, low miles; ONE owner; car fax; repair records, etc. He was truthful, casual and funny--but not in that CORNY way some car salesmen are. (they wear a clip-on tie). He looks like a professional football coach. Then I met David--the finance guy. He was wearing a baseball cap and expensive sunglasses hanging just above the brim. Maybe it was a ploy that David said I was getting a real deal (they could've priced the car $1000 more than I paid). I DOUBT IT THOUGH. He too was amazing. (And I'm not just saying that because I got two free Brown Bear Car Wash coupons). Here's the most unique parts about CORN MOTORS. When you first drive by the place, in Everett, you can't help but notice the "original" sign: CORN MOTORS. It had a stalk of corn below it. No kidding! Either this is a CORNY ploy to sell cars, or a farm stand--or both. (the owner's name is CORN). They are ahead of the times by the way they do business. You don't have to sift through the latest "deals" and "sticker prices" or even the "no haggle" deal." CORN MOTORS is the real-deal. They make you feel at home. You get the feeling you'll be invited over for Thanksgiving dinner before you leave. Best Car place ever tucked on Evergreen Way in Everette by the mall. Experience based on a phone call to review the inspection of a vehicle purchased. The gentleman on the phone was rude and "diagnosed" the vehicle over the phone. The reason I called was to get a copy of the inspection that I am entitled too, he did not send me a copy and said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. Walked onto the lot for a specific car and John grabbed the keys and we went for a ride. The car was great. The price was a little high for my budget but I told him I would think about it. He was very cool about that... didn't try to push me into some other car! I had a lower offer from another dealership and called John right after. I said they could get me financed for a different car but I like the one you have better, what can you do? He said, "if anyone can do it, then I know we can make it happen." I went in, we brainstormed some ideas on how to get it done for me, and just as promised we got it done! Well, that was a month ago. My car was a 2013 but it was used, so I waited to put this review out. I've been driving the car an average of 150mi per day and its awesome! We had a hang up about a week ago, my check engine light came on and my car was shaking going down the road... I was distraught and frustrated like... great, I just got my plates for it and they have my money... now I'm screwed! Wait for it... I called the dealership just as a long shot that they may give a crap. They didn't even hesitate... they were like, Yeah! bring it in! I brought it in with my two toddlers in tow. They took the keys and they were off to the races! Since my car is a turbo, John, insisted that someone familiar with turbos look at it. This was at 4pm on a Friday! He came back a little while later and was like, bad news! We're gonna have to hod onto it til Monday. But here's the keys to the Lexus outside, take your kids and go enjoy your weekend, we will be in touch. Turns out they had to replace a coil and a spark plug in the motor, and then the guy servicing it was like, and I wanna change his oil just to give him a fresh start! My wife and I have looked all over hell and back trying to find the right car for her. Ran into many sleazy sales people that put a bad taste in our mouths along the way. We came into Corn Motors not expecting to walk out with a different car and she picked this Honda CRV that she fell in love with. These sales men pulled up records from car fax without question. This Honda has been thoroughly serviced it's entire life and we were very comfortable with the purchase. It's my first car purchase ever and the vehicle was for her job for driving. It felt right. I would recommend this lot to anyone who asks. How up front and honest these people were here really made a great impession on me and I will be coming back.
