My Lexus GX470 had an awful noise that turned out to be the Air conditioning compressor and condenser. Roy and Harold advised to replace but hold off on an expensive valve. Nicest group of guys I have ever met at an auto repair shop. Drove asking to schedule an appointment to have my car look at and I was told they are about two weeks out on appointments. That's a good sign. They asked me what I was looking for, next thing I know I've got three people standing around my hood listening and looking. When I was given an estimate for the one repair I requested, I then decided to ask for a few others. And without a pause they agreed to do them for me. We have used Rodlands for over 10 years. We have always had honest service and fair pricing. Recently I got an oil change at a "reputable" dealer. They told me that my car needed new brakes urgently. I took my car to Rodlands and he looked and said, no, my brakes were just fine and had plenty of life left in them. He could have scammed me and made some money, but instead he was honest. This is the first time, that I've only given one star. When people cost me hundreds of dollars, for their lack of knowledge, or communication with their other coworkers, I'm not happy. I went in at the end of last summer, with my AC not working properly. I called one shop, that said that more was wrong, than just needing a recharge. Rodlands unfortunately was where I chose to go instead. They recharged the AC, it worked great, but I didn't use it again, till the first warm day this last spring and the AC, didn't work! It had all winter, to leak out. I call, to give them a chance to work it out, and get it fixed, the guy I talk to, says they need to order a dye, to find a leak. Ok, sounds good, but my heater isn't working right either. I get my car in, another mechanic, is to work on my car. When I get the car back, I find out, no dye has been used and the AC has been recharged, no leaks found even though they know it's leaking and fluid has been added to get the heater working. Of course, I paid for those services and nothing was fixed, not even the heater. I call back, to say, that I can't keep paying and not get anything fixed. The man tells me, I was told it would be difficult to find the leaks and the heater problem, has nothing to do, with the AC, that it might have to get worse, till they can find it. Errrrrrr I never mentioned, would have been nice to have ordered the dye, like I was told. I ended up, going elsewhere, where they used dye, fixed the leaks and the heater and AC were linked as a problem. Also, they found a problem with my radiator, that needed fixing, or my car, would over heat causing more damage. I think, it all depends on the mechanic you get and wether they even take notes, or communicate to work together on a repair. I'm pretty sure, they make a lot more per hour than I do, and I feel robbed! read more

I am a big fan of supporting small businesses and I am so glad I chose Rodland Auto Service for my needs! I am a single mom with not a lot of time, or money, to be getting jacked around by dealerships or other sketchy practices. I took my car into Rodland's and was pleased to find it is a family owned and operated business, that diagnosed my problem accurately the first time, and didn't charge me thousands of dollars! When I called, I spoke with Roy who listened to the issue I was having and told me to bring it in and they would take a look at it. When I got there, I was greeted by Harold who diagnosed the problem, gave me an estimate of both time and cost and didn't pressure me to make an on the spot decision, so I checked with some other shops, and was given way higher estimates of both cost and time. Not only did they adhere to their time estimate and have my car ready when promised, the cost was slightly less than what I was quoted! Such a relief!
