Very unhappy. Had 2 root canals and he put on crowns. Now the tooth next to those teeth need a root canal. I have read all the reviews about this dentist and at first I disagreed but now I understand why all the bad reviews. Shame on you Dr. BURQUEZ. So my first time here, I ended up staying here for about 3 hours. Never mind that I had an appointment set because that means jack here. I had a general cleaning and was done. So my second time the first thing I noticed was the front door still had not been fixed. I guess professional appearance doesn't mean much, but then again based on other Yelp reviews it has been damaged for quite a few years. I go into the alternate waiting room, and they receptionist immediately took me to the waiting room. I'm thinking cool I'll get taken care of quick, until I notice there are two other people waiting in the waiting room, and each examination room I pass has someone sitting there waiting as well. I'm taken to the area past the ancient damaged door and put in a room. I'm feeling like I'm in some deep cavern alone since no one is around. So the doc comes in a few minutes later and bullsh*tes with me about all sorts of things. I don't care, just get on with it. He looks quickly at my teeth, and without x rays says I need deep cleaning, fillings, and all other sorts of cleanings, but he can't do the work right now as he is over booked. WTF!!!! I just got off work early to be here, and now i gotta do it all over because you're over booked?!? What the hell man! Come on, gimme a break will ya! So I go back to the front office and the lady tries to sell me on over $400.00 worth of crap and cleanings. All based on a two minute (yes two minute!) BS look over! I do think maybe he needs the extra cash to fix the front door, but not from my pocket buddy! Who ever hit the front door should have driven right through the place and taken the whole building out. And (yes those who read my reviews know this would be coming) burn the place down and throw salt on the ashes so nothing ever grows there again! Peace out party people! read more

AWFUL!!!! This dentist would not perform a simple 6month cleaning. DDS Burquez tried to tell me I needed additional dental work that was not required to bill my dental insurance a much larger amount. When I asked him why he couldn't clean my teeth, he claimed I had to have the other work done first. I refused. That same week, I went to another dentist in Irvine and was told my teeth were fine. I reported the incident to my insurance provider. Word of wisdom, there are some people that take advantage of a person if they sense fear. I would give this dentist a -2 if I could. Obviously this man knew I wasn't a fool and I could see past his greed & bull, so I left. No regrets leaving that dentist. This review is based on a recent visit. My family has gone here like 4 or so times before, and the staff is very friendly, the dentist is very friendly, but the WAIT time is a B***H! appointments seem to be useless, because each of the times that we've been here, we have an appointment, but we've waited at least 40 minutes to a little over an hour. aside from this, because we only go a couple of times in the year, everything seemed ok, until just recently. again, this review is mainly because of the wait time. i made an appointment for my son, as it's his first visit to the dentist, he is 4 & the visit is a bit over due. the appointment was at 3:30, my husband and son were there at 3:20, cut to 4:30, where i text my husband to see if they are on their way home, only to find that they are still waiting, as they haven't been seen by the dentist yet. wtf?! then cut to 5 and still no dentist. finally 5:30 rolls around and they are finally in with the dentist (2 hours later!!!!!). the dentist apologizes, saying that he was who knows where, paying his taxes (really?? wtf?!). then during the exam, gets a call on his cell & says that he's sorry, but he has to take it. a few minutes later, returns, then gets another call on his cell, excuses himself again (seriously??), so my husband got my son and took him out of there! when he told me what happened, i was so upset at the lack of professionalism, with the wait time and personal calls, plus you're doing this to a 4 year old! little children don't have the patience that an adult may have. i called the dentist to express how unhappy we were with their service (not that i felt they were gonna care), and i let them know that we were not going to pay for the "consultation", only to be told that the Dr. never entered any notes and that they normally don't charge for the first consultation. super disappointed. will be finding a new dentist for the whole family. read more

Horrible experience! After waiting over 2 hours Dr. Burquez didn't even know my son was there for teeth extractions. The girls in the office didn't seem like they really cared. I called them prior to make sure they had received the report from my son's orthodontist and they said they would call me back if they didn't get it. If I could put 0 Stars I would. He is the most lying deceiving person I know. He acts all nice and sweet but little do people know is that he will con you out of your money as soon as he has you in his trap. He is such a cheap bastard that he has not even put up his front office door since they knocked it down from the accident back in 2013. I was so disappointed with his work and had him reimburse me my money by me having to threaten to sue and call the dental Board to report him. Once I said that he had me sign a waiver stating I would not sue if he gave me back my money. Now 3 years later and my teeth are constantly in pain. I'm sharing this experience as I feel people should be aware of what his operation is all about. I am a senior with limited income however, I was approved by a credit company to pay for the work he told me I needed done. He did the work, he got paid and I paid the company. The work he did was not ok, I kept going back for adjustments but could never fix it. Then, he told me I needed some more work done to fix what was wrong. The cost was going to be substantial, they offered to go through the same credit company and I agreed. Signed all the paperwork and left. As I was driving home u thought about it and decided not to go ahead with the work due to the expense so when I got home (15 mins later) I called to cancelled the transaction and specially asked to destroy the paperwork I had signed. One month later I received a bill from the credit company for a monthly payment for the work I didn't have done. I alerted the credit company that the work was never done and was told that he got paid $5,000 + . After numerous calls to his office, asking to speak to him, never returning my calls, and the bills were becoming overdue, I had to hire an Atty. to resolve this. He then refunded the company. That was a very stressful experience and proof of how a professional can con people specially a senior. HOPE this helps someone. read more

Let me start by saying, that the dentist has always been my biggest fear, and Dr. Burquez helped completely rid me of that phobia. I hadn't been to the dentist in over ten years until I finally could not take the pain any longer and decided to man up. After a weekend of constant pain, I called the office Monday morning to explain I had severe pain and to see how soon I could schedule an appointment. Dr. Burquez was kind enough to see me the same day and begin working on my teeth! The office staff is very professional and have made me feel at home each visit. Dr. Burquez is a very friendly man that made me feel extremely comfortable and kept me informed step-by-step. During my procedure I felt no pain whatsoever, and even found myself nodding off at times. One visit to a caring dentist like Dr. Rudy was all I needed to get over my fear of dentist. ok anyone that knows me knows that i wait until i am dying before seeing a dentist. i am 55 years old and have been living for the past 20 plus years with 8 teeth on top and 8 on bottom. needless to say it has been forever since i could smile. recently i broke my front tooth and went to see dr. burquez. let me tell you what i discovered. good dentist's do exist!!! this man clearly loves what he does no matter how long he has been at it. he treated me like a human being!!! in the past i have been known to leave dentist's offices crying vowing to never do that again! dr. burquez is the first person in forever that actually cared about what he was doing with me. you see i ended up having to take out all my top teeth which was no easy task and never once did he allow me to feel pain, in fact he numbed me up before even giving me shots of novacaine (really who even does that?) not any dentist i have ever seen. there was even an issues with a tooth being attached to the bone so when he had to extract it clearly it was not going to be quick and painless. however it did turn out to be as painless as possible because he made sure of that. so i can honestly say now that i no longer dred seeing the dentist (as long as it is dr. burquez). i know there are a lot of people out there that feel the same about seeing the dentist as i did and i just wanted to be able to share my story so that they too can find someone to believe in like myself. this man is such a gentle soul and truly cares about his patients and these are not just words but actual facts!!! so all you skeptics out there just know great dentists do exist!!!! you just need to see for yourself. also thank you dr. burquez for taking such care and making me a believer in good medicine but mostly for giving me back my smile. elisa martinez read more

Dr. Burquez has been my dentist for the last 4 years and I'm extremely happy with him and his staff. First off, I'm a big baby and he definitely baby's me and is very sweet and patient. He's very honest and will tell you the truth about what you REALLY need and not try to sell you more services than you need. after many years I finally had it .. I've been with this practice for over 10 years not once have I had a cleaning even after I've asked . was told I don't need one .. I've had horrifying experiences not by the owner but by other dentists he brings in and the owner dr Burquez just says 'I'll take care of you next time' and never does .. this weekend I had a dental emergency and the number that was left on their answering machine to call for emergencies was incorrect.. today when I called to find out what is going on with the message left on their answering machine Andrea the receptionist was completely apathetic .. she said they are working on having someone come out and fix the problem .. lol the problem of what?? changing an answering machine message?? unreal .. when I said 'your message says you open at 10 am and you weren't there where were you' she simply said 'oh we open at 10:30 am today' .. really??? wow!!! I told her I want my records and I'm leaving the practice .. I'm just down right not happy with the excuses ... I've been a patient of Dr. Burquez for well over a year now and I have to say that my inital experience was great! He is a very down to earth, CHARMING man and because he makes you feel right at home, I instantly loved his office. For this, I am giving them 1 star! HOWEVER, over the past year, most of my experiences with this office have been aweful. His receptionsists are rude and THEY (the staff - including Dr. Burquez) do not return calls as they promise. I intially went in for a consultaion on veneers, after receiving a flyer in the mail (shouldve been my first clue). They proceeded to tell me that I needed work done, BEFORE we could even speak about what I had gone in for. I agreed and after that work was completed we FINALLY disussed the veneers. BTW, HIS FLYER WAS ALL ABOUT VENEERS, but come to find, that he really is NOT the cosmetic dentist, which he claims to be. He does not have a ny pictures of patients to show of his cosmetic work. He brought his wife in to show me how lovely he work was, as she was his first cosmetic patient (her teeth were NOT beautiful as he stated), but I did not want to be rude. He kept trying to get me to do porcelin caps (as they are stronger, he stated).. After that meeting, I was VERY weary and went home feeling frustrated. He spoke highly of his cosmetic lab, but could not answer any of my questions (i've done my homework on veneers).. all he could say was "dont worry, I promise they will look beautiful".. I trusted what he was saying, as he was very convincing, but still was not comfortable with the work. We had set a date to get the veneer work done, but when that day came I cancelled the appointment. He told me on his own that he would give me free at home bleaching, as this was another thing I needed done...After I cancelled, I decided not t get the work done after all. Unknown to me that he charged me for the work, when he hadn't even started it yet! (I had applied for care credit previously- but never gave them permisssion to charge me- especially when they hadn't done anything yet!) Iwas so upset and they agreed to charge back the credit card. this took a couple of weeks of excuses before it got taken care of!.I felt bad and since had already started the bleaching, I offered to pay the full price of $400. BIG mistake. They would only give me 1 or 2 of bleaching viles at a time. I asked how many do I get and they said until you rach the whitness you want to acheive. i had to go back several times after to get "refills"- so inconvenient, and had to wait FOREVER (at least an hour) just to get 1 little tube! So now, I called last week and left a message with Andrea on Thursday that I needed a refill. She stated that she would have the Doctor call me back. It never happened. Today is Weds of the following week and after, I called them back, she stated that she spoke to the doctor and he said I would need top make an appointment. Also that I would have to pay ANOTHER $400 for more bleach! WTH. First of all, he way over charged me the first time- I only got a total of less than 10 tubes (3 uses ea tube- for both top and bottom)!!! How does that equate? Do the math, really $40 per tube?! Not only are they unprofessional, they are also scam artists. I asked for my dental records and will not be retuning to this office. DO NOT BE TAKEN BY HIS CHARM. He does appear to be very nice, but his office is an unprofessional mess. read more
