Food is good. Prices are high could be due to inflation. I want to inform new customers that this establishment only takes cash. We went to Chase ATM so we could pay as we don't carrying much cash. I wish we were informed that its cash only before ordering. They should post signs and have staff verbally tell people as I still believe most people expect to pay by card. I ordered the frozen strawberry Margarita which was good. For my entrée, I enjoyed the shredded chicken burrito served with rice and refried beans. My husband ordered tacos with different types of meat like chorizo and a Corona beer to drink. Overall, food is decent but the lack of communication regarding payment was a disappointment.

Delicious! I had the pollo supremo and added pickled jalapeños and it was so good. This is a very cute and cozy restaurant with good service as well. I just want to go back for more pollo supremo but unfortunately was only visiting from Indiana. Shootie patootie. Definitely check it out if you're in the area! Xoxo, Is this thing on?

Carnitas burrito which comes with rice and beans. Also queso with chips.

I was not expecting amazing, authentic Mexican food this far up north but this place does not disappoint! Food is a little pricey but most stuff is up here. Burrito was huge and filled with loads of meat. White fish tacos are a must, packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the beans as well. Definitely will be coming here again!

Great food! Great ambiance! The best guacamole I have ever had! Blood Orange Margaritas! Need I say more!? I had the shrimp tacos which were delicious! The tortillas were homemade. Everything is fresh and delicious!

Outside the fray of downtown Petoskey, El Cilantro has a much more relaxed vibe. It's close to the state park and ideal for hungry campers or bikers riding from Petoskey to Harbor Springs. The server definitely gets five plus stars. Helpful, fun and attentive. We enjoyed the complementary chips and salsa while waiting for our food. Our shrimp tacos, which we shared, were enough for two or one very hungry person. They looked appealing, served in a casual "basket" plate. Though everything was fine and satisfying, we both felt there was a lack of seasoning that would have made our meal next-level. We are from Southern California and may have higher standards and more experience with Mexican cuisine than most. The level of flavoring and spice would surely appeal to the palate that does not crave much heat or traditional spices. As campers, we will definitely keep El Cilantro on our list to visit for future trips.

The shrimp tacos were outstanding- best we've had! The Birrias were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. I also really loved their salsa - freshly made and you could tell. We used to visit this location years ago when it was Scallywags, and it felt a little nostalgic!

This little order-at-the-window restaurant is amazing and located inside…read morea well-known vodka-gin distillery on a country road between the Michigan Lake-lined cities of Petoskey and Charlevoix. Crazy that this Mexican food eatery with a small yet delicious menu sits within a 42,000-square-foot building that formerly served as an equestrian center. Now it's an eatery inside several rooms - a part of the largest distillery in Michigan. The BIG room, on a colored, swirling and polished cement floor is decorated with couches, picnic tables, a large screen for videos and corn-hole boards and other games. My spouse and I ordered a quesadilla filled with chicken, avocado, peppers. onions and cheese ($16). YUM. Prepared on a 10-inch tortilla, it was served with limey-tasting sauce of sour cream in a tiny ramekin. We picked it up at the window in the long hallway on the side of the distillery and ate at a picnic table with our bottles of Mexican Coke and Lime Jarrito in the big hall. Although the price is a bit more than we usually spend for a top-notch quesadilla, we probably will return for fish (cod) taco $6.00. The only major drawback is the distance between the parking area and the restaurant and distillery. It's up a myriad of steep steps, although there is a drop-off area near the building for those who are physically impaired.
