Mario is very easy to work with. Came out to look at our small fence project. Quick turnaround on the quote and the price was very reasonable. Scheduling was easy, good communication. Took down the old fence and cleaned up well. Did a solid job on our fence with some tricky areas around our big tree. Guarantees the work and called to follow up a week later.

Our fence fell. The posts broke from the strong winds. I called Mario and he gave me a quote. We sat down and talked about the job process and the price. Eventually, we reached an agreement and had the replacement scheduled. Pictures are attached. Mario is easy to talk to. He will accommodate your small requests. Highly recommended and the job was well done. Thank you Mario

I highly recommend Mario and his team from Rodriguez Maintenance & Landscaping. Mario provided a very competitive quote to replace my 80' long, 3' high pressure treated lumber retaining wall. He and his team were on time and worked everyday until the project was complete. Mario did exactly what he said he would do in the time he estimated for the project. Mario and his team were professional, polite, and incredibly easy to speak to. He provided continuous updates without me asking, keeping me up to speed on the progress they were making. It was apparent that his construction techniques were far superior to those used in constructing the old wall. The end result is a beautiful, strong retaining wall that will last for many years!

I hired Mario and team a few weeks ago to build a horizontal fence in front of my 43 ft retaining wall and remove 4 shrubs from in front of the wall. They came out on time and completed the job in 2 days, including cutting and removal of the trees, building the new fence, and staining the fence. Mario also went out of his way to clean up some debris I already had in the yard and use some of the remaining stain on my "unstained" gate. They are very personable and great to work with. I would recommend this company!

I cannot stress this enough - call Rodriguez Maintenance & Landscaping. Mario is incredibly communicative, prompt with estimates (& clear about what was included), and fairly priced. The work was beautiful. My neighbor and I each had different questions or concerns and Mario handled them all. We had just over 40' of fencing done in board on board style with common redwood. The project did get pushed back a few times but considering that Mario took into consideration our own tight timeline, and was dealing with the uphill battle of sourcing lumber, AND gave us ample notice around the possibility of schedule changes, I have literally no issues with this. If you want it done well, if you want someone who cares, if you want someone THAT SHOWS UP please call Mario ASAP

This is what my fence looked like before.

I went with Mario from Rodriguez Maintenance & Landscaping as he was one of the most responsive out of all the fence builders I contacted during COVID. I did get 3 estimates and Mario had the most reasonable estimate. I needed my fence repaired. Planks were falling apart, fence was leaning (see pic). My job was pretty small and I heard that not a lot of fence companies like to do these small jobs, but Mario was eager to take on the task. I presented him these pics and he came with an estimate within 24hrs. I made an appointment with him and he came out to fix my fence within a week. He worked within my budget. He was friendly, personable, and was even willing to teach me a few things about fence building as I'm a beginner DIY'er. HIghly recommend his services. I'm very pleased with his work. I would definitely use him again. Note: If you pay cash, he gives you a discount.

After reading all the positive reviews, I called Leyva Concrete and spoke with Alfredo. He came out, looked at the space and we talked through the process. A couple of years ago they helped me with a smaller concrete project, and I was so impressed by their professionalism and craftsmanship that I knew I would reach out again when it came time to redo my entire backyard. From the very beginning, Eric stood out for his clear communication and honesty. His quote was very fair compared to other contractors I contacted, but what really made a difference was how much thought he put into the design and planning. My backyard was in pretty bad shape -- uneven ground, cracked areas, and even a section near a retaining wall that wasn't very stable. Eric carefully looked at every problem and came up with creative, affordable, and effective solutions. He never tried to upsell or rush decisions. Instead, he made sure I fully understood each option, and he adjusted the plan to fit both my budget and my vision. During the construction, Eric and his dad worked with incredible efficiency and attention to detail. Every single day, they arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up so thoroughly before leaving that I could barely tell it was an active construction site. That level of care and respect for a client's home is rare and deeply appreciated. The final result completely transformed my backyard -- the concrete surface is smooth, solid, and beautifully leveled. They even paid attention to the small finishing touches that many contractors might overlook. The project was completed right on schedule, exactly as promised. Eric and his father are honest, reliable, and take great pride in their work. You can tell they truly care about doing the job right, not just getting it done. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to hire them again or recommend them to anyone who needs high-quality concrete work. They're the kind of people you feel lucky to find -- hardworking, trustworthy, and genuinely good at what they do.

Despite their claim of being the "#1 concrete driveway contractor in the SF Bay Area," and assurances of quality and timeliness, my experience with BAYSL was overwhelmingly negative. If you value a correctly done or on-time project, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Communication has been a HUGE issue. Repeated calls, texts, emails, and follow-up attempts were consistently ignored. Furthermore, BAYSL failed to honor their written "1-year workmanship warranty" when problems arose, choosing instead to abandon the project and cease contact. The project involved a steep driveway requiring traction lines, which BAYSL assured me they could handle. Despite extensive discussions and detailed visual aids provided to ensure alignment, the execution was deeply flawed from the beginning. The initial wooden form was uneven and wavy, requiring my intervention to correct. The first concrete pour was equally problematic. On a day exceeding 90 degrees, the team appeared unprepared and struggled to implement the agreed-upon traction lines, resulting in a visibly messy driveway. Ultimately, they agreed to cut out and redo the entire driveway. Trusting their expertise, I allowed them a second attempt in October 2023. I was assured they had prepared and tested the necessary tools for the traction lines. However, on the day of the replacement pour, their new tool appeared unused, and my concerns were dismissed. Predictably, the second attempt to create traction lines also failed, resulting in a rough finish. While a discount was provided to placate me on now owning an ugly driveway, the issues did not end there. Within 6-8 months, cracks appeared in the concrete, and the overlays used for curb cleanup began to break. I reported these issues in June 2024. After a week's delay, they promised to follow up, but it took another two weeks and a follow-up email to receive a response. Eventually, AJ and Danny inspected the damage and agreed to address it. However, this was followed by another period of silence. After multiple follow-up emails in July and August, AJ finally outlined a plan of action in mid-August and promised a date for repairs. Despite my prompt response, there was no further communication. Subsequent follow-up emails in September and October were largely ignored, with a brief reply in late September stating repairs would occur "in the coming month." A request for a phone call was also ignored. By late 2024 and early 2025, their Yelp and Google listings indicated temporary closure, and their company email address bounced. I assumed the situation was a lost cause. However, noticing their Yelp page reactivated recently, I decided to try again. Unsurprisingly, there was no response to my outreach. As a last resort, a friend contacted them for a landscaping inquiry, and Dennis responded, expressing interest in new work. This provided me with a working alternative email address, which I used to contact Dennis and AJ again about the outstanding repairs. Dennis responded that they "never got any of the emails" and were "waiting for better weather conditions" - despite months of inaction across various weather conditions. He also stated he was no longer involved in day-to-day operations and directed me to Danny. I texted Danny, who said AJ would contact me. I have yet to hear from AJ, and Danny no longer responds to my texts. In summary, BAYSL demonstrated a pattern of poor communication, unprofessional execution, failure to honor their warranty, and ultimately, abandonment of the project. Their initial claims of being a top contractor in the Bay Area are in stark contrast to the reality of my experience.

This is ONLY because we checked daily work and instructed them to fix mistakes and sloppy work. They spent a lot of their time redoing what should have been completed right the first time. Daily progress (or lack there of) showed us that the owner/project manager (Tevita/Mata) is not a good project manager nor that he gave his crew clear direction on this project. The process after contract signing was horrible...not at all professional. The project took much longer than Tevita initially quoted (over 2 months vs the 2 weeks he originally told us). This resulted in change orders and cost overruns. He also tried to charge me to fix their breakage/mistakes/errors (e.g., fixing the sidewalk his workers broke). His crew was not respectful of our property (we had to live with their mess...it's not a vacant lot). They did not regularly clean up the work site nor organize equipment and materials left onsite. Seeing their lunch garbage (cans, bottles, wrappers, etc.) at the end of their workday was common. This continued even after repeated complaints to Tevita and to his crew. No one on site could to provide straight answers as to that day's work or when specific project goals would be completed. Whenever I would spoke with him, Tevita made excuses, provided misinformation, denied deliverables he previously promised, and deflected from answering direct questions. He has a habit of talking over the customer when asked questions he doesn't like. On at least one occasion, he raised his voice and started yelling to avoid answering questions. If it was not in writing, he'd say it wasn't what we discussed. I have never had such issues when working with professional/reputable companies. Tevita and his crew failed to meet every single deliverable date he set. I found him very difficult to work with. I feel that he does not show proper respect to the customer. Instead he appears to think that the customer, the person paying him, should accept subpar work. I suspect that he may also not fully understand the processes involved with the work being performed. I feel that Tevita and Lamata Concrete are not professional. They didn't use professional equipment and they didn't manage the job site or their onsite work time professionally. Their workers typically started late morning and were gone by early afternoon. Lamata Concrete has major logistical problems. They couldn't get an adequately-sized crew or required materials to the job site at the start of any given day, typically interrupting workflow for hours to go fetch supplies. Had they staged materials and tools at the worksite (where there was ample area to store all materials needed for the entire project) and had his crew worked a full 8 hours per day at the job site, I believe they could have finished weeks ago. They are SLOW...3 weeks for a stamped concrete driveway and pathways. I definitely CANNOT recommend them for a cinder block wall. It took way too long (over 2 months) to complete. I feel like they have never built this type of wall. I regret hiring Lamata Concrete. I CANNOT recommend Lamata Concrete nor would I use them again. They were such a hassle to work with compared to the many other professional/reputable companies I have hired. My opinion...take their negative YELP reviews seriously and ask for references and talk to those references. Tevita's response is a great example of how he makes excuses, provides misinformation, denies promised deliverables, and deflects from addressing the real issue. I find it a bit childish and very unprofessional.
