The course has the fastest, most challenging greens of any public course in the area and most of the holes are fair for weekend golfers.

To start there are red tee times if you book 9 days in advance that charge a fee, but I booked a tee time that had an applied "booking fee" because I booked 8 days in advance but the tee time wasn't showing that when I booked. The driving range is very sub par at best. Nice mats, but can't hit anything over a 5 iron to warm up and you're in a hot zone for the 18th hole slicers. The beer drive thru barn is pretty cool but on a hot day there is no water refill on the course and no water refill in the beer barn so you're forced to pay for one to stay hydrated. To finish, holes are situated close to one another and you're in a gauntlet of trying to not get hit. This course used to be premier but now it's not worth the price. Can go play a round at a course that charges $80-$90 on the weekend and get better conditions.

This review is only about the par three golf course. Not Kimball Farm facility in general. My…read morefriend and I arrived around noon for nine holes. The ground keepers were mowing all around us and the sprinkler systems were on in front of every hole we wanted to play. They would shut them off as we went, but it was still a very strange and soggy experience. At one point one of the workers was yelling in my direction right as I was trying to take a shot. The greens were extremely slow and tended to be warped around the hole so that a good putt would often not go in. Add all this to the goose poop which was ever present throughout the course and needless to say to, I found this experience to be very lacking. Kimball Farms is a cash cow and there is no reason they can't maintain their and putt course much better than this.

The layout is…read morefun, fair, and gives you a little bit of everything: open holes you can let it rip on, tighter ones that force you to think, and some sneaky greens that can catch you off guard if you're not paying attention. Course conditions are usually very good, especially considering the price point. The fairways roll nicely, and the greens tend to be well-kept and quick without being unfair. Pace of play can vary depending on the day, but overall it's managed well. Only reason I'm holding back that last half star is the clubhouse and food scene could use a little boost -- nothing bad, just nothing to rave about either. That said, the staff is friendly, the value is great, and I always look forward to coming back. Definitely worth a tee time.

He barked at my son and I to make our way to join another two-some playing. This two-some had a cart and we were walking so eventually we played on our own rather than join the other group. I was half expecting the staff to come barging at us yelling to join the group. He seemed like a jerk. The course though is very unique and pretty challenging. Lots of holes are narrow with woods on either side, water, sand and underbrush bushes and marsh. In other words, there are many ways to lose a ball if one's drive, second shot, and pitch are not accurate. The Par 3's are some of the toughest I've ever encountered. One has a dip in front of the hole with water and vast brush in front of the green. To the side is woods and a steep drop on the other side. The 9th hole is a Par 3 that has vast underbrush in front, woods on one side and a barn like building on the other...super challenging. I can see beginners being frustrated on this course but it is challenging but fun for players with a bit more experience. I enjoyed myself overall. Just wish the staff I encountered wasn't so unwelcoming (we paid, were customers...why be gruff?). If the owner/manager is reading this, talk to your staff. Friendliness goes a long way. Still a beautiful course.
