He'll take some pictures of your swing, show you how to align/swing better and encourage your progress. He knows how to observe, advise and communicate in ways that truly help. My game has improved markedly as a result - down from mid-90s to mid-80s and could not be happier with the results. BTW - regarding all the gripes below, don't pay any attention to them. The course has the fastest, most challenging greens of any public course in the area and most of the holes are fair for weekend golfers.

The ground keepers were mowing all around us and the sprinkler systems were on in front of every hole we wanted to play. They would shut them off as we went, but it was still a very strange and soggy experience. At one point one of the workers was yelling in my direction right as I was trying to take a shot. The greens were extremely slow and tended to be warped around the hole so that a good putt would often not go in. Add all this to the goose poop which was ever present throughout the course and needless to say to, I found this experience to be very lacking. Kimball Farms is a cash cow and there is no reason they can't maintain their and putt course much better than this.

The layout is…read morefun, fair, and gives you a little bit of everything: open holes you can let it rip on, tighter ones that force you to think, and some sneaky greens that can catch you off guard if you're not paying attention. Course conditions are usually very good, especially considering the price point. The fairways roll nicely, and the greens tend to be well-kept and quick without being unfair. Pace of play can vary depending on the day, but overall it's managed well. Only reason I'm holding back that last half star is the clubhouse and food scene could use a little boost -- nothing bad, just nothing to rave about either. That said, the staff is friendly, the value is great, and I always look forward to coming back. Definitely worth a tee time.

Played 9 holes here. Well, as courses go it's gorgeous. The…read moreholes were excellently maintained and it's beautiful to walk this course. Little traffic noise and no airplanes make it ideal. My caveat is that some of these holes were super confusing. They have this weird tee setup where you play one set for your first 9 and another set for the "back" 9. But the tee markers aren't all that different in color and more than once it was confusing for us to know where to tee off. Or to hit too. Some blind holes - especially the hole that was actually two holes - there were two separate greens you aimed at depending on you playing your first or second nine. The driving range is also weird; it's super short so they use these wacky plastic balls with bumps on them. They don't go that far, which makes them good for a short driving range. But you have no way of telling how far you hit a "ball". It's super strange. Nice facility, beautiful course. I found it difficult for me but that's because I'm a terrible golfer. I probably won't be back just because I wasn't fond of the setup of the holes. It's a little wacky.
