The Godfather and Godmother are unique pies, they're probably different than anything else you'll ever try. Service is okay, delivery time terrible, but I've alway gone back for years. But honestly, I can't afford them anymore. I order delivery (less than 3 miles from their location), and a 13 inch Godmother ended up being $34 bucks. I've eaten thousands of pizzas over the last 20 years, by the slice, by the pie, by the square. Thick crust, thin crust, stuffed crust. Wood oven, coal oven, electric oven. Rod's is hands down the best pizza I've ever eaten. I'd have voted for their lunch buffet as one of the new 7 Wonders of the World. Heard about this place a few times before and we were in the area. It was ridiculously terrible. Nobody greeted us, we were simply pointed to a "please seat yourself " sign. We sat down and nobody ever came. I got up and grabbed a few slices from the buffet and I would compare it to Chuck E Cheese. My family and I came here after the St. Patrick's Day parade in Hot Springs. Although the restaurant was quite empty, all of the servers seemed to be running around like they were swamped. When we walked in, the hostess seemed very "frazzled" (for lack of a better word). She seemed to forget some items, and then told our party, as well as about 2 other parties, that we would have to wait so she could take a bathroom break. Once seated, our waiter was friendly, but was running around looking extremely busy, despite the fact that he was only waiting on 3-4 outside tables. Granted, he may have been waiting on tables indoors, too. I can't speak to that. As for the food - it was rather pricey. My family ordered a sausage pizza on sicilian crust, and it was good. I ordered a grilled chicken parmesan sandwich with sour cream fries. The sandwich was huge - but the chicken was somewhat flavorless. The fries were good, but nothing more than your normal steak fries in my opinion. I had originally asked if I could get a side salad instead of fries, and was informed it would be $4.99 extra! It would be nice if Rod's offered any other side other than fries. Not a terrible experience - the outside seating was nice, despite needing a few extra lights on the patio - but nothing spectacular, particularly for their prices. read more

What is up with all the overpriced food in Hot Springs... $17 for a small 10'' pizza? Heard good things about the Godmother/Godfather, but not a fan of all that meat. We ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. Solid, but not mind blowing. Lots of BBQ sauce, good crust, but skimpy on the chicken and onions. We ordered easy on the cheese, but it came out bubbling with cheese and grease. I hope that wasn't "easy", otherwise I can't imagine what regular cheese looks like. We also felt like we needed a salad, so we got a caesar salad. It was to-go, but they still put the dressing in instead of on-the-side. Who does that on to-go orders? And it was $6 for a pile of wet iceberg lettuce. The place is pretty run-down and reminds me of the interior of an old Mr. Gatti's. And just a note that they now have on the door: they are no longer accepting restaurant.com certificates, in case anyone planned on purchasing one. read more

Delicious pizza, I LOVE The Godfather, but it is super expensive. However I think it is priced right considering the amount of toppings that goes on it. My poor rating though is for the extremely slow service. I've dined in and had to wait, which is fair as they cook your food fresh. But recently I placed an order online to be ready at 6pm only to be told it wouldn't be ready until 6:30pm. They have been around long enough, they should know how to prep for orders to get it out in a timely manner. I feel their standards have slipped over time and just isn't what it used to be. read more

We have ate here several times but this past Saturday night, 2-11-23, may have put an end to coming here. We drive over 2 hours to eat here and the experience we had was uncalled for. The waitress was very unprofessional, cussing while at our table and then again we heard her let the F bomb fly with a roomfull of patrons! We then heard her yelling from the kitchen at whoever was reprimanding her. She put our order in for our Godfather no olives and mushrooms and garlic cheese bread. We sat there for almost an hour before she asked if we ever got our cheesesticks, we told her we ordered garlic bread with cheese, she said I'll go check on it. She never put it in and when she did we got cheesesticks brought out to us. We told them it was wrong she came back again same scenario. We canceled the order for the garlic bread with cheese because the pizza was going to be coming out soon....wrong! They brought a godfather out to people that had only been there 15 minutes and asked them if it was there's. Left it on their table to go check came back and got it and took it to the back. Came back and said your pizza is almost done. After sitting there an hour and a half and knowing they were going to bring that same pizza back out to us we left. read more

The service was great! I loved the salad bar. We ordered The Godfather which tasted great, but it did have a over powering flavor of the sausage. We prefer a more balance of toppings. We tried the Celler Burger which was awful. No seasoning at all literally, and it tasted straight out of the freezer. The waitress claimed they don't season them due to customers have complained. I do not know if this place has changed hands but the kitchen is not in order at this place. We ordered an appetizer 2 pizzas and a shrimp Alfredo. The ship Alfredo cam out with the appetizers. The first pizza cam out 50 min after the Alfredo and the second pizza they forgot to make so that took another 30 min. The waiter kept making excuses but never offered a discount or sent the manager. So after that we just asked for to go boxes and left. That was the worst $105 I have spent in a long time. We recently hired Rod's Pizza cellar for an event we held Tracy was awesome to deal with I would definitely recommend her. But more importantly the PIZZA! we had people from all over the country at our event and the pizza was a homerun success. I'm a very picky person that has eaten Pizza all over the place and this is one of the best pies I've eaten. The pizza was massive and even more important than that it was very very good. I had read all sorts of positive reviews and came in to give it a try. I was pretty disappointed. But I will gladly give it another try. Next time I will try another dish. Now...their pizza was really good, though. It was just the garlic bread and spaghetti that I was terribly disappointed in. Sorry, but I can make way better spaghetti and garlic bread than that. However, as stated, I will gladly give them another try in the near future. Also, the staff were VERY nice. I was very pleased with that. read more

No... Just no. Run away! Run far, far away! This place was awful. It was like a bad dream where everything that could go wrong was happening. It was way over priced (around $60 for two adults and a twelve year old), we sat for twenty minutes before the obviously annoyed waitress took our drink order. The pizza was burnt and it looked like they sprinkled burnt pizza crumbs all over the breadsticks. As for the "games" they offer, totally misleading. I was thinking maybe a few arcade games. Nope, tiny little TVs mounted far above the tables ( most are broken ) and the lame little hand held games you have to plug into the tv (also mostly broken). We will never ever go back. If you live in Hot Springs, you know about the pizza at Rod's. Two slices of the delicious Godfather pizza will fill you up for half of the day. The service is always nice and respectful to the customer. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the other pizzas are good, but just too average. If you get the Godfather, you might want to ask for some to-go boxes, as well. Plus, on Sundays, they have football games on the big screen. I think you'll enjoy it. read more

This place was fantastic- a gem of a find. We were visiting here and stumbled on this place through the recommendation of a server at another restaurant. It's not fancy pizza but it is definitely creative and delicious. And I absolutely loved the homemade pepperoni. I had a small pizza that lasted through 2 meals. This was horrible. We went here thinking it would great since my husband had a wonderful experience a few years back. We were wrong!!! The trio of fries didn't exist. They were out of two out of the three fries. The fried mushrooms were watery and nasty (and frozen). The fried ravioli was frozen. The meat version looked like canned dog food...and kinda tasted that way. The pizza was just as bad. The dough was a basic flour dough void of flavor. It was soggy. The cheese was so chewy we had to cut the pizza into bite size pieces. It was 6:30 at night and we were the only people there...should have left when we noticed this as we walked in. The final price tag? 31 bucks and some very very angry stomachs. read more

From what I hear there is new management as of pretty recently. On to the pizza. They have a thick and thin crust type. My party only ordered thick pizzas. I think what it means is a puffy crush vs a more crispy crust. The crust was nice and puffy and not hard at all but it lacked the character and flavor of the best crusts I've ever had. I had the Razorbaccio specialty pizza which was all meat. I also opted for the layer of provolone cheese melted on top which I would recommend even though it costs a little extra. As for the topping and sauce they were pretty flavorful in my opinion. I really enjoyed the meat. Although the sausage didn't look like it was custom made. All in all a great pizza. With a little improvement to the dough recipe (maybe even a garlic butter crust) this would really up the quality of this pizza. read more

Great place to come. Pizza is delicious. I can not have gluten so I was happy to see the gluten free pizza. It was a think crust. I went during lunch and they made it for me instead of the buffet, but still gave me buffet pricing and the drink and salad bar. She said it wasn't my fault I couldnt have it. I was recently in Hot Springs on family business and wanted to try the local pizza places. I located a place near the hotel and ordered a 13" thin crust pepperoni pizza. I live on the East coast where even low-end pizza is still pretty good, but this is something I really did not expect to find even in Arkansas. The cheese was just OK but the sauce was something else. It was watery with a strange taste -- as if you had taken a bottle of cheap tomato sauce, diluted it, and then spread it on a pizza. The crust was the best part of the pie, but still not good enough to save the whole pizza. The service here, on the other hand, was good -- so there's that. If you are visiting from out of town I would recommend you either stick to the national pizza chains or wait till you leave Hot Springs to order a pizza. read more

The toppings were pretty good (I got pepperoni, jalapeno, and tomato on mine) -- the crust was way too much for me. We ordered a 17" pizza for 3 people (which was way too big). It was 12 HUGE slices of pizza. Might go back sometime -- but I'd have to try the thin crust pizza. Also, the quoted us 45-60 minutes for the pizza at the time that we ordered -- think you might be able to call ahead with your pizza order -- if not, they do have a take-out window. read more

Okay I gave them 4 stars. It's simple the pizza was good and exactly as advertised. I had the Chicago style Godfather, it had everything in the kitchen on it then covered in mozzarella - side note the mozzarella was a bit salty. My wife had a "build your own" New York style cheese and mushroom. It was good but again a bit salty. The service was good. The inside of the restaurant is old but clean. The toy train circling the dinning room was pretty cool. I would eat here again read more
