If you haven't been to Rody's Tavern, I highly recommend a visit! Don't let the "tavern" portion of the name divert your enthusiasm. This local sports bar serves up some scrumptious eats! The service was quick and friendly - and the food was surprisingly delicious! I ordered the Red Goat Chicken sandwich and it was lovely. The chicken was grilled and seasoned perfectly, the creamy goat cheese offset the sweet/spicy pepper jelly too. I would definitely order this again! Oh yeah...and I got toys that did not disappoint!

Yes, we were back at Rody's. The food here is awesome. I would recommend it again and again. The bartender lady is wonderful. I hope they appreciate her. I had 10 wings. Their Winter menu just came out. Check it out Greensboro!

A good night out with the guys. Wait staff pleasant and efficient. Standard tavern food items, nothing that stands out as unique. I got 2 items Tomato Bisque (so glad I got it flavorful and nice texture that has some grit to it. So stimulating). Also got the standard no frills cheeseburger. Filling as had plenty of beef patty (thick). Good enough taste but not a burger to crave. Not juicy or overly flavorful therefore giving it and therefore the place 3 stars as good but not great. Fun energizing environment good for beer specials, events around TV's and live music.

Haven't been in a while. Have always been less than impressed. Due to location, it worked out to eat here. Was definitely more impressed with service and food. Ambience is still a little loud for my taste for as early as we were there. I get it later with live music, but this was 5pm and we couldn't talk across the table. Will still return for a meal/drink when hanging out (not catching up) is the objective.

Great little spot! Went for lunch on a Saturday. They were very busy but able to accommodate the crowd. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. She brought out refills as needed. The food came out quickly and was correct. I got the red goat chicken sandwich with tots. It was very good. The chicken was cooked perfectly and not dry! The hot pepper jelly made the sandwich. There was a bit too much goat cheese for my taste but that's me and it was still good. The tots were hot and crispy like they should be! All other dishes at the table looked great! Overall a great lunch!

Rody's isn't near my usual stomping grounds so I've never had a chance to go before this. Greensboro has a lack of decent sports bars so when we found ourselves with a free evening in this part of town, and a lot of games to watch, we were happy to head to Rody's. As a sports bar it didn't disappoint. We were able to get a seat at the bar so didn't have to wait despite the crowd and there seemed to be a lot of regulars which normally indicates a quality place. They had a ton of TV's showing every possible game or event on at the time and there seemed to be enough that you would be able to catch that game you were looking for. They had a nice beer selection and the bar drinks were good, if a little basic (which I think fits the setting so it's not a deal breaker). Our food was typically bar food but was quite good and came out shockingly quickly which was nice because we were pretty hungry. I don't know if I'll make my way this far north of town to visit but if I find myself in the area again, I won't be opposed to returning.

Services was good atmosphere was pretty good especially if you are looking to check out a game. Food can out fast so great to go grab lunch. I had the Reuben sandwich. It was really good. The bread was toasted perfectly. How sometimes you get your sandwich with the Reuben is soggy on the bottom usually as soon as I get my sandwich and flip it over to keep it from getting even more soggy is the little things, but the bread was nice on me The corn beef had great flavor. Had the tater tots with it nice and crispy on the outside wheel season

I've been here a few times, Savannah is always prompted with her service along with being helpful and kind. The menu has a variety of items in order to satisfy various people. Great Sports Bar atmosphere with live music on different days.

Awesome food! Got a to go lunch on a work from home day and it was quality. The Buffalo chicken wrap was amazing and the fries could have been a bit better but to go fries are never the best. They were slammed packed which is always a good sign. Staff was friendly and helped us get some extra sauces.

Rody's is very similar to Kickback Jacks but with better food and more main course menu choices. TV's everywhere, and sports on all of them! The service was average, our waitress wasn't as attentive as we needed with refills but the food made up for it. The cheese curds were really tasty! And our sandwiches were great, however this restaurant has very limited sides, everything came with fries or tots. I liked the vibe, the sandwiches and the location.

I have been eye balling Rody's Tavern for a while now, but just never got around to stopping in until recently. We came by for lunch on a Friday afternoon and sat at the bar. The restaurant was popping even at lunchtime! As you may expect their menu consists of general bar food, as it is a Sports Bar!!! We ordered the jalapeno ranch burger and the smash burger and Both were fresh and delicious. I will honestly say the food was better than I expected it to be. We will be back!

This is a place to watch games and enjoy food with friends or family. It also has a very nice external area where you can hear the game but enjoy fresh air and the view. Related to the food we ask the traditional wings and flounder and shrimp combo that was ok and had good quantity. They should take care more of the menu: We receive both menu very damaged and greasy. This doesn't give a good message to the customers.

I was never so insulted!! The bartendress explained that the mango habanero wings were very spicy and most people can't handle it. I assured her I meant to order these very spicy wings and that I have a high tolerance. She left and came back 5 min. later. She asked , "are you SURE you can handle these wings because lots of people have returned them to the kitchen before and we didn't want that." I was feeling uncomfortable on being questioned again and I assured her YET again that I really wanted extra spicy mango habanero wings and said I'd even sign a waiver if I had to!! It WAS ON THE MENU for heavens sake!! So I'm waiting for awhile and finally get my wings. They were so lame no spice hardly at all. Not mango or habanero--they were appearing brown and tasting like barbecue sauce. Omg how disappointing!! They were as hot as pepper you sprinkle with salt. Whut?!!! This isn't what I ordered!! I told the waitress, "these aren't spicy AT ALL!" She hands me Green habanero hot sauce and said, "this is what I use." So they didn't take my wings back and fix it?? No celery was given and I asked for blue cheese and got ranch. I still tipped her but I'm tired of tipping for awful service. I appreciate that the martinis were good. BUT Why did she add $8 for a double tho? It was a martini glass and I just asked for grey goose not a double. They don't care about what you want here and they'll try to add fees on without your knowledge. No thanks to Roddy's! Skip it.

Tonight was finally the evening when we were able to go, despite a bit of a waitlist still (45 minutes). The hostess was on point with her estimate and also very quick to get us seated within the promised time frame. I also found out they offer reservations, so we will use that option loving forward. First of all-service was excellent. Our waiter came to the table within a moment of being seated to get started with waters and non-alcoholic options, and was quick to check back up on us and see if we were ready or had questions. He made several great recommendations on both food and drinks. My only caveat was that my 10 oz steak was a bit on the salty side, but this may be due to the aging process. It was cooked to a beautiful medium per my request, and both my sides (asparagus and loaded baked potato) were yummy, well cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband got a pasta with pancetta and caramelized onions, and it was absolutely delicious. Suggested wines were paired well with both entrees. We opted to get a few more drinks with dessert, and both were also very good. The bartenders are not stingy in their pours! We also split the butter cake for dessert and I will say that Paula Dean would have been proud of that cake. It was melt-in-your mouth richness paired with a slightly tangy fruit sauce, fresh berries and a tasty vanilla ice cream. The restaurant as a whole was well set up, with multiple types of seating and a large bar area. Decor was well placed and there was enough room to walk through without feeling crowded, despite how busy it was. We will absolutely be back!

We started out with cocktails. I had a Hendricks dry martini straight up (it was delicious) and my wife had a Don't Call Me Sweetie which is mix of Hendrick's Gin, Lemon, Cucumber, Basil, Simple, Saline 15. It is very citrus heavy, so be advised. She had them cut it with a bit of cranberry to offset the citrus. For main courses, my wife had the grilled salmon and she chose sautéed garlic spinach and wasabi slaw as her sides. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my side was blackened green beans. Let's talk main course first. My wife's salmon was terrific. Flaky and moist and very tasty. My shrimp and grits was unique because it was a real balance between large pieces of shrimp and the grits. Many times you'll order this dish and end up with a pile of grits with some shrimp sprinkled on top. This version is very tasty and a really nice balance of flavors. The Cajun seasonings have it some kick, but it did not overpower. The side dishes are where we had a couple of surprises. First off the sautéed spinach was really delicious, but my wife's wasabi slaw was bland. It's a huge shocker because when you see the word wasabi, you expected to have some Asian kick to it. This did not. It was hard to even identify that it had wasabi in it. That was a disappointment. The surprise was the blackened green beans. They actually were one of the stars of the show. Their flavor and texture was just awesome. We could've ordered a huge bowl of it and eaten all of it. While it didn't need it, there was a dipping aïoli on the side, just in case we wanted to add that to the green bean experience. As I mentioned off the start, Fishbones is a very casual experience. It's very pub-like in that way. We really loved it and the wait staff, which is a team approach as anyone who passes you makes sure you're doing OK, were kind, upbeat and helpful. Even with the bland slaw, we can't lower our rating because overall the experience was terrific. We will definitely come back.

Husband and I popped in for a week night dinner after doing some holiday shopping. It's a small, but very cute place. Can sit at the bar or at one of the high top tables. I enjoy sitting by the fish tank they have toward the back. I love their peel and eat shrimp, so we decided to get a pound as an appetizer. These shrimp are the big guys and I highly recommend asking for the Old Bay seasoning on them. I tried to limit my use of the melted butter (of course yum) which wasnt too hard as their cocktail sauce is pretty darn good. The balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy in their preparation is spot on. For entrees we went with two of their most popular dishes. Hubby ordered the farm-raised catfish. This dish comes with certain sides but you can customize, he got the slaw and blackened green beans. I got the blackened ahh tuna medium rare which comes with your choice of two sides. I went for corn and the blackened green beans. My tuna was perfectly prepared and hit the spot. I received two big half pieces of golden yellow corn. It had nice subtle sweetness. Their blackened green beans are a must try. Perfectly seasoned. The creamy dipping sauce is also delish but tried to limit use. This was a lot of food and very healthy. I left plenty full with no guilt. Everything was superb. The service was also very attentive. No issue getting a table on a weeknight. There is something for everyone on the menu. I've never been able to convince myself to get anything but seafood as their specialty, but they do have options for meat-lovers and even some vegetarian and vegan options available. I bet they are good too. Be sure to look at their Facebook page and website to see their weekly Specials. On a Saturday afternoon, I was in Greensboro and in the mood for some good pretzels and a draft beer, and this hit the spot. Old Town Draught House has a very old bar ambience, without feeling worn out and dated. I love the old dark wood throughout the building. They have a pretty broad draft beer menu, along with normal bar offerings. I was happy to see multiple sour beers on the list, because that's exactly what I was in the mood for. There's no table service, and it is seat yourself, but the bartenders were very attentive, and it was never difficult to place an order at the bar. We ordered a few beers and decided to get deviled eggs and the pretzels as appetizers to share. Food came out very quickly. The pretzels were pretty good, but I've had better elsewhere. Rather than being crispy, they were soft and a bit soggy, but the flavor was great. The beer cheese was on point, although I would've preferred a spicy brown mustard over yellow mustard. The deviled eggs were a bit of a letdown, because it was just a hard-boiled egg cut in half with a little bit of sweet chili peppers and dressing that tasted like 1000 Island on top. When I think of deviled eggs, I anticipate the egg yolks being removed, mixed with a few ingredients, and piped back in. For what was basically two eggs cut in half, the six-dollar price tag was steep. Overall, we had a great experience, although I would likely choose different food options next time. The bar staff were great, the beer offerings nice, and the ambience was a good vibe.

I ordered onion rings (as a side) and the Bacon Jam burger as it came with the "cordon Bleu" fries. The onion rings stole the show. So good. The fries were not my jam. Low quality cheese sauce with lunch meat ham that was diced. My fault, I should have subbed regular fries as I don't like stuff on my fries. I was expecting it to be a seasoning. My mistake. The burger was good not great. I got the 12 oz size and learned it is 2 fat 6 oz. patties stacked. Makes it VERY tall. The description of this burger is shown in one of my photos. Again, it was good but the flavors just did not pop. Wish I got the French Onion burger. Next time. :-) I do recommend!
