I stopped in for breakfast after a doctor's appointment. This place is certainly in need of some updates. The booth I sat in had a loose backing and the table wobbled. The bathroom is old and in need of updates as well. But I really didn't care about any of that. This is clearly a family run diner and they are very nice people. A young man was my server and he was attentive and polite. There is something about that diner coffee in a ceramic mug that is just great and they have it here. I also liked the home fries. I don't know how they are seasoned, but they're delicious. The bacon was super crisp and they even had whole wheat toast. A young lady was behind the counter doing whatever was needed. She cashed me out and was very polite as well. It is a great little hole in the wall and I highly recommend it. read more

The location is near a few car dealerships and I'm happy I say it driving by. The server many different food items but the tamales was the best on the menu. Sort of like a waffle house mixed in with many other options. Waitresses were all friendly. read more

My wife and I stopped in here for a late lunch after visiting Körner's Folly. There was only one other customer since we (thankfully) missed the lunch rush. We were promptly greeted by a happy waitress, given our menus, and then quickly our drinks. I had a chili dog, and my wife had fried shrimp with slaw (made from scratch) and fried okra. Our waitress never let our glasses get empty, and her light chit-chat was also enjoyable. We wanted to go to some various types of stores and, being local, she was able to provide us with suggestions and directions. If you are in the area, this is a great place to grab a bite. My wife and I tend to like either very nice places or very basic no-frills places. This is definitely one of the latter and a good one at that. Stop on, grab a bite, relax a little. read more

Great food reminds me of a place in Philadelphia the atmosphere where all walks of life go to eat and mingle refreshing to see that in the south as it's a rarity I have noticed these days. The owners are hardworking and care and I always get tamales when they have them. It's so nice the owners son had dinosaurs lined up at the ones table playing with them it's a nice family feel. The waitstaff always pleasant! I love the south moved here over 11 years ago after my husbands tour in the Army he is from the Bronx I'm from Pennsylvania and we miss mom and pop places like this they are all over Philadelphia and New York but chain restaurants are taking over it's sad to see a lot if these places go and it's also sad in this climate we live in people don't intermingle like they use to and I miss the mix of diversity in alot of places gives it a charm sometimes southern charm is one sided. read more

Ambiance and service were average, but food was terrible. Chicken quesadilla was a ripoff for $14! Only about 1/4" thick with 1 tiny piece of chicken in the whole thing, a couple of mushroom slices, a few strands of onions, cheese skimpy: about as thick as condiment would be. Our first time here and the last. I ordered the tenderloin and my husband ordered crispy chicken wings hot. We both got a salad which was good. The tenderloin had a funky spice which I couldn't eat. The chicken wings had a Mexican hot sauce that was terrible and they were mushy. My husband ate one and couldn't eat them and he loves wings. We told the waitress to take the plates as we couldn't eat it. At the register she charged us for both $10.95 and $12.95 so we asked her if we had to pay for and she replied yes. Abel's Grill is located in the corner of East Mountain Street and Graves Street. Formerly one of the Rancho locations, years ago. This is across the street from Parks Chevy. Why this was not in Yelp I have no idea. This place has private lot parking. It looks kind of old and run down from the outside, and even inside is showing its age. It was clean and well kept.. just showing its age. Classic diner all the way around. Old style bar seating, some booths and tables. Its pretty small. The decorations make me think 1975! It still has a very old school feel. Sandwiches are their specialty for lunch and they also have fried seafood. They have a full breakfast menu, so be sure to come see them for classic diner breakfast! I have stopped in a few times when they were one of the only options available. The service was fast and friendly.. keeping me with a full tea glass and items I needed. The prices are great. Maybe one of the best values around. The food was just fine for what it was. No issues at all. Last visit I had the philly steak and cheese sub with fries. There wasnt a ton of steak on it, but what there was had a good taste and the toppings were good also. I had driven by this place so many times. One day I finally stopped in and had a double cheeseburger and fries. Its owned and operated by a local Hispanic family. The second time I went, I took my wife and we had their steak and chicken tacos special. They were the real thing and awesome! We were traveling and made a commitment to support small and locally owned businesses. We found Abel's Grill in a Google search and had lunch at the restaurant. The lunch special with pork chops, okra and fries was great. The cheeseburger was not homemade and was fair. The fries were cooked perfectly. read more

Took SUV to parks for service walked over for breakfast and glad I did it was a great. Got the country ham breakfast the eggs were scrambled soft no brown just as I asked the bisquits are big well baked and fluffy inside beggin for butter. Will be stopping here more often read more
