Steak and cheese and curly fries

Great place for lunch. Always awesome service and fresh food. Been coming here for a couple years, consistently good. Per ambience nothing remarkable, usually calm and quiet. Seems like a good place to get some work done during lunch if you need.

I've been to Spring Garden Bakery & Cafe for lunch a few times now and they never fail to satisfy me but today topped all other visits. Spring Garden is a cute, simple little restaurant that's perfect for a delicious meal. The staff is always friendly and today they were incredibly accommodating to my dietary restrictions. I will be returning again and again and again.

Hickory bacon cheddar burger with potato salad

What a delightful hidden gem in the industrial area in Greensboro! It's tucked away in an industrial park off Airpark road so you have to do some maneuvering around the parking lot to find the entrance. It's totally worth it. I was craving a burger and they did not disappoint. I got the Hickory Cheddar burger and you could tell it was made to order (not frozen then pre-cooked). The bacon was perfectly crispy but not burned. The seasoning on the meat was just right, good amount of bbq sauce (I hate a dry burger). It was supposed to come with caramelized onions but it wasn't until after I left that I even realized it was missing. Clearly, it didn't effect the quality or my enjoyment of that burger, though I'm sure the added onions would be delicious. As for the sides, I ordered potato salad. *warning* If you are not a fan of raw onions, do not get this. I looooathe raw onions and this potato salad was very heavy with them. I ended up attempting to eat around them because the rest of the ingredients were delicious, but ended up giving most of it to my partner. I did, however, enjoy his curly fries! Perfectly seasoned and fried. It's a no-thrills, get-down-to-business type establishment. No decorations. Plain tables and chairs. It's a quick in and out lunch and it's perfect. Looking forward to going back again soon!

"Mushroom and Swiss" burger w/waffle fries. Actually used cheddar vs. swiss, but sandwich was still delicious.

If you are not paying attention, you would definitely miss this unassuming cafe off AirPark and Gallimore Dairy Rds near I-40. There's not much to look at on the interior with minimal decor and a Daily Special board. Menus on service counter provide an array of breakfast options, soups, salads and sandwiches. There were 2 bakery cases, but due to time if day, I wasn't paying attention and the options appear sparse. Beverage options are (sweet tea) or selection from case (mostly canned from what I recall). You place order at service counter and food is brought to the table. I ordered a steak sub (no mayo or oil/vinegar) w/side salad with ranch and tea, while my husband ordered a mushroom & swiss burger with waffle fries and soda. While service was prompt and food is fresh & appropriate temperatures, my husband's burger had cheddar vs. swiss, but burger was still delicious. There were a few tables outside but not in useable condition. Parking lot had many shade trees and sides to freeway exit, so you do get noise from traffic. All in all, a hidden gem if you're looking for standard fare off the beaten path.

Great casual atmosphere, the staff have really come into their own, and the food is simple but has little touches that often make it a small cut above most other sports bar type places around. My favorite things to order are the smashburgers, chicken philly (almost as good as the one at Old Town, a restaurant also belonging to this same owner), and now the fish and chips. I decided to get those last night, and the fish was two good size thick cod filets, fried and breaded perfectly. The fish was flaky and tender, the remoulade it came with really elevated it, I'm glad it was not plain tartar sauce (gross). The appetizer favorite here is the pulled pork nachos for me, otherwise, we usually just get meals. If I had one small complaint, it's that the tea is usually brewed pretty weak. Steep it a little longer, and you've got me fully hooked.

We loved their homemade dressings. Service: Our server was great! Attentive, kind, and offered to let us taste test. She also was helpful in her descriptions and recommendations. However, our experience fell short upon arrival. The hostess said they don't have a table for 5 but we could add a chair to a 4 top. And when I said that's not a comfortable or reasonable set up for 5 people and asked if we could push two tables together, she seemed annoyed. Who thinks it's acceptable for a party of 5 to sit someone at the corner point of a 4 top table when there are open tables all around? Management advice: If this is truly your approach, I'd recommend you rethink that logic. This is basic hospitality.

A couple of family members joined us there. Both ordered plates of shrimp and grits and enjoyed them, as well as two side dishes that accompanied the entrees -- especially the deep fried "blooming " onion. Although my order of Greek salad was fresh and tasty, the added chicken proved tough and gristly. (However, it could have simply been a bad day for grilled chicken.) My husband, who is currently undergoing cancer treatments, ordered several dishes of vegetables but was feeling so badly when our meals arrived, he was unable to eat. This is when Cagney's began to shine -- service. Service is near the top of our review checklist, and can make or break any dining experience. Our waitress, Chloe, was (and, I believe, is) gold. Although a busy evening with a "full house," she waited on us quickly, got our order straight on the first try and updated us twice on one item coming out of the kitchen a few minutes after everything else. She checked on us from time to time and noticed my husband's fading energy. She noticed that he left the restaurant to relax in the car while we finished our meal. She asked if I might like to take his meal, which remained untouched, with me. When she returned with the take-home container, she had written a personal message on the lid and offered kind words and a warm hug for me. The next day, my husband asked me to warm his leftover meal so that he could have it for lunch. He said it was delicious. That alone is worth a great review. Add in Chloe, and dining at Cagney's was stellar.

Hands down, they have the BEST sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. The biscuit itself is perfect--soft, buttery, and consistent every single time. Whatever they're doing, they should never change that recipe. The sausage is super flavorful, and they give you two patties. At first, it feels like it might be too much... but somehow, by the end, it's exactly the right amount (because yes, I finish it every time). I always add strawberry jelly, and that sweet-and-savory combo with the salty sausage, melty American cheese, fluffy eggs, and buttery biscuit is just chef's kiss. 10/10. This is my go-to order, and I will always recommend their sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit.

Our visit 28 SEP @ 19945 (After the Wake Forest football game)…read more Let me start with there is nothing wrong with this place. There are thousands of these strip mall, multi cuisine fast food counter service restuarants. They fill a key slot in the dining industry. We were hungry, we got meals, we ate every bite. I am however not sure about the five-star rating. I suspect the two raters prior to me are very nice guys. My wife found the Google entry and there are 367 reviews (avg. 4.2). I went and read some of the reviews. I think its a case of grade inflation, peoples score they choose does not match their description of their experience. I lay all that out there because I try to be as fair, and useful as I can when I write these because I use Yelp to help me make decisions when we travel. I wouldn't want to mislead others. So this restaurant was not that far from our hotel and we wanted to get food and take it back to room and watch some more football on TV. I guess we didn't get enough at the 41-38 loss WFU suffered earlier. It is a little dark, a little run down, but seemed clean as far as I could tell. There were no weird smells, just fryer grease and roasted chicken and pizza. My wife got an Italian sub, no ham, no cappacola, just salami and cheese (she's a toddler sometimes). Sort of half expected them to add a bit more salami to round out her sandwich, they didn't. I got a rotisserie chicken sub. It was okay, the chicken tasted good but there wasn't much of it. We both got fries and they were pretty decent (a little steamed because there were no holes poked in the styrofoam containers (most places know that trick). Our meals ran us $24, about what things cost these days, but not quite the value for what we got. Like I said, it was okay, we ate it all and were happy to have a meal. I'm not sure we would be regulars if we were local, while this place is okay, I suspect there are a few slightly better places in the area.

It is the only true Roman Style locally, that we enjoy. It is always, very thin and crispy, which we love. The sauce is not too sweet, which we prefer. So many local pizzas are far too sweet for us. What really sets it apart is the mozzarella cheese they use. It has good flavor and the right amount of saltiness. Our biggest complaint about most local pizzerias, is the tasteless, rubbery cheese they use. We have yet to try any of the toppings, since the plain cheese is so good. P, P and P is on our rotation now!

Most reviews are years old. Here's to hoping this review helps! This place really deserves more attention. It is in an industrial park and not easy to see. The restaurant itself doesn't have a lot of parking spaces, but you can park in the large lot in front or behind and take a short walk. The first thing I noticed was the diversity of patrons. That's always a good sign. The lady at the counter greeted me with a cheerful smile and I could tell she knew a lot of the regulars and their orders as they came to the counter. The gentleman who brought my food out to me was very pleasant and engaged me in conversation. I tried the turkey Reuben with fries today. I give it 4 stars due to lack of meat. It had great flavor, but was loaded with sauerkraut and a thin slice of turkey. The fries were a little underdone for my liking but they weren't bad. From looking around the small dining area, I could see this was consistent with other patrons and the sandwiches they had on their plates, not a lot of meat. I will add this place to my lunch rotation now. I look forward to trying the other meals and being able to review some of those.

I don't leave many reviews but after multiple top tier meals which are fresh, full of flavor, and worth praising I decided to leave one. We really enjoy the variety and find it all fairly priced. An order of brussels easily feeds four but they've got it as a side; as well as mac n cheese and garlic/ parm broccoli and we really liked them all. You won't be disappointed.

The chicken is moist and tender, and the pimento cheese is tasty without being overly heavy on the mayonnaise. On this last visit, I got the panko fried cauliflower as my side and it was okay, not amazing. The breading was nice and crunchy but there wasn't enough flavor, even with the dip, so I wouldn't order this again. I usually get the brussels sprouts as a side, and those are a much more satisfying, delicious choice in my opinion. My husband ordered The Roast Beast panini this time - I had a bite with the au jus and thought it was excellent. I love when restaurants offer mocktails and Melt has a few on their menu. I tried the Blood Orange mocktail and it was unfortunately a bit too heavy on the lime for me. I wouldn't order this again. I find the atmosphere of Melt to be cozy and I love the lighting and decor. The restaurant is on the smaller side and it seems to always have a crowd, so it can get pretty noisy.
