I recently checked out Dear Dad and I can definitely see why people are talking about it. They're known for their American and Mexican inspired comfort food, and it did not disappoint. I started off with an iced caramel coffee, and even while we were waiting, they brought our drinks out to us, which was such a nice touch and honestly set the tone right away. They didn't have to do that, but it definitely made the experience feel more welcoming. Once we sat down, we got right into the food, chilaquiles verdes, waffles with strawberries, and huevos rancheros. Everything was flavorful and hit the spot. The place was packed, so I was honestly surprised at how quickly our food came out, but it was absolutely worth it. Service was great all around. The only thing I'd note is that it is a smaller space (it looks like it may have previously been a Waffle House), so I'd recommend going with a party of 4 or less for a more comfortable experience. Overall, definitely a spot worth trying!

Finally had the chance to stop in and it did not disappoint! Expect to wait quite a while on a busy day, today our wait was ~1.25 hours but well worth it! The inside was gorgeous and I loved the design of everything! Our server was fantastic and she was super attentive, even though she clearly had a lot going on! The food was FANTASTIC! I ordered the blackened chicken Caesar wrap and also had some of the chilaquiles. The wrap was perfectly sauced and the chicken was super flavorful. I wish the fries had been crispier, but paired with the house ranch they tasted great! The chilaquiles were to die for! Spicier than I expected but that was a welcome surprise. The portion was also huge with rice and beans on the side! Definitely will be returning to try the famous waffles and french toast!

I have seen a lot of positive reviews about this restaurant. We were looking to have brunch in Greensboro and decided to give it a try. It was busy, but the wait was not too bad. The restaurant is a formal waffle house so it is not very big on the inside. We were seated at a booth and the inside of the restaurant is very cute. Our waitress was really nice and gave great recommendations. I tried the Red Velvet waffle with chicken tenders. The portion was huge and very good as well as the waffle. I also enjoyed my pistachio latte. My son had the chocolate cake which was fudgy and very tasty. The manager came by to check on us and I thought that was nice. Overall, a great service of food. I would just go on a weekday next time since it gets very busy.

Arrived around 9 am on a Friday and the restaurant was busy. There were about 2 or 3 booths available when I arrived but they were soon filled as well. I love everything about how the staff welcomed my sister and I. We were checked on often and didn't have to flag anyone down for any refills. Bathrooms checked out as well. They are single stalls but there is a bench for you to sit and wait if needed. I'm late to the party dining here but the reviews do hold true. The food was tasty and portions were filling. I needed a carry out plate and so did my sister. She was happy with all of her food selections. Even the table next to us vocalized food envy for her chicken and waffles entree. I ordered the breakfast club sandwich with hash browns. I grabbed the ketchup but once I took a bite, the hash browns were all I needed on my fork. No extras. A few entrees stood out to me during this visit so I have to come back for more. As well as try a dessert or two! Thank you for the wonderful service and good eats!

I came to this place the other day for a work meeting with my manager. The restaurant is always super busy but we got there at a good time (2p.m.)where we didn't have to wait for our table. I was able to meet the owner of the restaurant and he was super nice! We had a really nice server who was very attentive. We asked her for some recommendations from the lunch/dinner menu and she recommended anything that has the birria in it. I ended up ordering the birria burrito and I also tried their iced vanilla latte. The latte was delicious it came in a cute glass cup with some whipped cream and caramel drizzled on top. Our food was out quickly as well. My burrito came with a side of fries that were delicious and well seasoned. My burrito was stuffed with birria, rice, beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo. It also came with a green salsa that was not spicy and I could tolerate it. It was very good, the burrito didn't feel like too overwhelming for me, although I did get full quickly and had to ask for a to go box. Overall if you're looking for a cute little brunch spot or want to grab something for dinner, Dear Dads is a great choice. The vibe inside is very warm and welcoming and they have some great music playing as well!

This is one of our favorite places! The manager comes & speaks to us every visit. This time they found out we had 2 birthdays in our party & came back to sing with complimentary beignets!

Dear Dads is such a gem! The food is insanely good.. seriously, every dish we tried was a hit and the menu has so many great options that it's almost impossible to choose. Their drink selection is just as impressive, with tons of delicious coffees, matchas, and fun refreshers. The atmosphere is lively and busy in the best way, and the decor is super cute, making it the perfect spot to hang out or grab brunch with friends. Service was great too, everyone was friendly, quick, and super helpful. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Hello Yelp... it's me again My boy E put me on and brought me to Dear Dads for the first time. We pulled up Sunday morning--party of 3, about an hour wait. Honestly? No complaints. That's how you know it's about to be serious. Now let's get into the meat and potatoes (and yeah, I mean MEAT). I ordered the Breakfast Chilaquiles with beef... and listen... this beef?? I don't know what they marinated it in--holy water? Jesus tears? Grandma's secret prayers?? Because GOOD LORD. I almost stood up and testified. Parking is a little tight, and the place is small--real intimate vibes. Like, you might accidentally make eye contact with strangers and end up knowing their life story by the time your food comes But here's what really got me: while we were waiting, the owner/manager came out and asked if we wanted drinks. DRINKS... while waiting?? That's not customer service--that's customer love. They care over there. Coffee? Fire. Food? Amazing. Staff? All good vibes. Real talk, I would've waited two hours and still left happy. 10/10, I'm coming back--and next time I'm bringing stretchy pants

Another wonderful time at Dear Dads! Busy as always so be prepared to wait at any time in the day. Got Fernando's Plate this time around, which comes with a waffle, choice of two meats, eggs, a side, and choice of bread. A loaded meal for sure. I opted for sausage and corned beef hash, sausage gravy for the side, and biscuit. The waffle was perfect, nice and crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The biscuit was fluffy and buttery and went perfectly with a spread of peach jam. I topped mine with a sausage patty and the gravy as well and it was phenomenal! We of course will be back!

Upon entering to get my order, I immediately noticed the lively, clean atmosphere of the restaurant. All the tables were filled, the waiters busy, and everyone seemed happy. While I waited for my order, they offered me a complimentary cup of ice water and a seat. It was very refreshing after a long day outside! My order was ready early. Parking was very easygoing, it was not difficult to get in or out of the place like other restaurants on Battleground. The beignets were so soft and delicious! They had just enough powdered sugar for flavor without making a mess, and the chocolate sauce was creamy and tasteful. I would definitely come here again!

I have been so many times and EVERY TIME, the customer service has been Excellent!! The ambience is still giving Waffle House vibes but I'm hoping to have a different opinion when they roll out their new location! Now for the food, it's giving comeback every day if you need too and try something new or as they say, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and get the same thing. I started with an iced Brown Sugar Coffee. For Brunch I had 3 stack of pancakes with Strawberry topping and I had to try the Red Velvet pancake with cream cheese drizzle....DELICIOUS I will continue to go back and absolutely can't wait for the new location to open!

Dear Dad's is always a home run. The other day my boyfriend mentioned that he wanted French toast but of course it was 7 PM lol he asked if I knew of anywhere that would serve French toast at that time of night and I checked dear dad's website and sure enough they had not one, but I think three or even five options. I was able to make reservations for 45 minutes from the time I looked on the website which was a great thing because dear Dad's is always busy. I at first thought I was going to also get French toast, but then I saw Chile Keys on the menu. I couldn't decide between red or Verde salsa, but I know for the future the Red is certainly the way to go. The servers are genuinely so helpful. They do their best to get everybody in and out quickly. The only thing that in my opinion was a little weird on the night that we went was the "live music.." honestly not just us but the surrounding tables all discussed if it was karaoke or if the singers were really that bad. Not sure if you can tell by the videos, but it was quite the experience. This absolutely does not take away from the food or the ambience and I think that having live music is a great touch when it's done right.

This is definitely going on my list of Greensboro Favorites. We came for a Saturday brunch and our first visit was simply awesome. First things first, parking is a little tight. We were lucky in finding a spot pretty easily. But come prepared to be patient. Inside is also a little tight, but they made it work pretty nicely. The hostess stand is immediate inside the door. They offer several two-person and four-person tables inside as well as a few four-person tables outside. For larger groups, they got a little creative. They have used an outdoor shelter to offer 6-person patio tables in a grassy area on the other side of the parking lot. It was perfect for us. The manager mentioned plans of renovating that space in the near future. Now to the important stuff. The food was AWESOME! I started with a hot Brown Sugar Latte. Both the presentation and the taste were great. Our waitress recommended the Biscoff Latte, which my hubby tried, and she was right; it's a winner. For my meal, I went with the Chef's Special. I highly recommend it. It's a Red Velvet Waffle with Hand-breaded Chicken Strips. It also comes with a side. It may not look like much, but it was very filling. They don't have a Kid's Menu but my toddlers split the Classic Plate and it was perfect for them. Everything came out fresh and at the perfect temperature. Other notes: - The hostess, the servers, and the manager were all amazing. Everyone was very personable and helpful. We never felt rushed even though it was clearly busy. - They have plans to open a second location near downtown Greensboro. - The restroom was nice and clean. Again, I HIGHLY recommend Dear Dad's. I can't wait to go back.

True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall. I'm not often in the area, but I'll certainly eat here again if I am!

Break a law or two ( joking) and cut through an intersection or two. I'm kidding, so be safe. Birrieria has really gotten popular lately so check them out. Hot and fresh. Great service. They give you a lil buzzer so you know when your food is ready. Very quick and easy to get your order.

I was eyeing this place for an entire week and happy I tried it out being that I'm from California,…read morethe anticipation was quite high! It's a food truck located in Petra's parking lot and open hella late, which is a WIN! I ordered 4 Quesa birria tacos, Birria ramen and something that looked like a mini quesadilla, I'm unsure of the name. The ramen was very flavorful although it felt like something was missing compared to Cali but overall very delicious! The only thing I didn't appreciate was the price. The cup was tiny and priced at $11. There wasn't enough room for additional consommé (juice) in the cup. I honestly think the cup could be a little larger for $11 or add more meat. My friend says the Quesa Birrias ($17) were good but they still prefer La Costenita's. Personally I don't like La Costenita's, because the meat and taco shells are extremely dry. But that's why we're all entitled to our opinions and preferences. :) The item that looked like a quesadilla was really tasty and only $7! It reminded me of a taco sandwich lol. The lady that took my order could of been a bit friendlier but I understand most people in NC aren't friendly at all. She insisted I add cheese after repeatedly explaining I do not like cheese and advised to dip my taco sandwich in the ramen but there wasn't enough juice in my ramen cup to even attempt that. Overall the meal was delicious, I've tried many places and this is at the top of my list. I would return when I'm craving something authentic but the pricing needs to be adjusted for what you get. Give it a try and tell me what you think!
