I've been walking in and out of these stores for many years, yet nothing has really changed--the staff still don't seem welcoming or interested in helping customers. They often come across as unapproachable and uninterested. When I've asked questions, instead of getting clear answers, it feels like they try to avoid responding and simply walk away. Customer service matters, especially in a specialty store where people come to learn and get advice. I'm actually someone who prefers supporting local businesses and avoiding shopping online from places like Amazon whenever possible, because I understand how it impacts local stores. But experiences like this make it really difficult to justify that choice. I hope this is something that can be improved, because right now, it's hard to feel motivated to shop here. read more

So here we go again you might wanna think twice about bringing your golf clubs in here to get repaired these guys don't know there ass from a whole in the ground I take a golf club in there with a tapered grip says he can't save the grip because it was tapered the guys a complete fool you save tapered grip all the time if you have the right equipment. We stopped by for a browse and to see what they had in store. Also what shoes were available. It was pretty mellow when we walked in with two of the staff at the register area. We went straight to the shoes department which the gentlemen working was quite nice and friendly. Helped us out with what we needed. They had an ok selections on shoes and some decent one on sales. But those were a hit or miss with the sizes. Some items were on promotion/sales which we did check out but was a give or take. Ended up passing on what was tried on. A quick browse to see what else they had in stock for clubs and sorts. There's a good selection, the other employees were friendly asking if we need anything. Layout of store was kind of everything all together. Even though they had things in their department, it still felt like it was all together. I believe this was the same store as the one across the street but now at a new location. Seems a bit smaller. Overall, they did have a good selection on some things while others were a hit or miss. read more

I have been to this location about 12-15 times in the past 18 or so months. I have purchased two sets of clubs, multiple items of apparel, a putter, and have used the club service desk a couple of times. I can say with no uncertainty that I have never felt welcome or comfortable, even when I was a true beginner about a year and half ago. The only reason I came here, and continued to come here, was because of its location, and I had no clue where else to reliably get golf related items other than Dick's. The barrier to entry on golf is already one of, if not the highest in all of activities/sports. It's expensive, addictive, and you are bombarded with information, misinformation, and everything in between. As a late-in-life beginner for all purposes, this combination of barriers renders Roger Dunn a suboptimal experience. I could not imagine a less welcoming place to get started than here. In my 10-15 visits, I have only TWICE felt like I wasn't intruding in some way. In all but two visits, my attempts to talk golf or learn something about a product I was interested in purchasing was met with the most surly, uninterested employees. The only times I felt good leaving was when I went in to get my club head adjusted (loose ferrule), and the gentleman behind the service desk did it for free on the spot in less than 30 seconds, and when I purchased my first set of clubs back in 2024. So, my main gripe with this store is that the employees act like they are oppressed by any form of customer service, won't look you in the eye, could not be more disinterested, and provide, at best, a one sentence response to any attempts to talk golf/golf products. I can comfortably and confidently say this having visited this store likely over a dozen times in the past year alone, and sharing my experiences with friends. Unfortunately, I still don't have an alternate suggestion that offers a comparable selection of in person golf merchandise in my area. Something in the air or someone there is sucking the life out of the place. I mean, if I'm going to pay a considerable premium to shop in person, at least do a good job at the things that online retailers can't do at all. End rant. read more

Had a great experience today. I wanted to change my shafts to a heavier shaft. They set me up with there fitting expert Damien as soon as I walked in. They had me hit a few drives with there recommendations. Got fitted to a stiff flex 70 gram driver. Also, hooked up my 3 wood as well with a stiff 65 gram flex. Special shot out to Damien he made me comfortable and had a great experience. Shawn was also super nice as well when I was leaving. The staff has always been nice to me from previous experiences. I went in for a fairway fitting yesterday and was very happy with the service and attention to detail. Maryanne was absolutely phenomenal in helping me find fairway woods that would fit my swing speed (X-Stiff) even when they were hard to come by. She was able to find me a Callaway 3 wood someone had returned to the shop that had a premium shaft option and a titleist 7 wood for a great value! Went in a week ago to go get my pxg putter reshaft cuz the shaft was broken. I came to the repair counter the repair guy was griping the club, i knew he was busy but no greeting not even say hi or ask if i have any questions or help, i stand there waiting for like 10mins till one guy from the back of the store came to me and ask if i need help. I ask him how much does it cost to reshaft my putter then he ask the repair guy, the repair guy didnt even come to look at my putter he said he need to order the special shaft from pxg he suggested me to send to pxg to get it fix. I knew my putter shaft is double bend flare tip .370 like regular putter can be use with any shaft any band that size. But I didnt want to say or show him my putter can be use regular double bend .370 I dont want to deal with lazy ass ppl that dont want to do thier job. I just left. I just want to say I had an excellent experience here at Rodger dunn on my last visit. It was time for me to invest in a custom set and I set up my fitting in store. Sebastian was the one that helped me out and he was amazing. He took his time with me, really explained the difference in brands, shafts , lofts etc & I felt really comfortable during our session. A lot of times you go to a place and if you don't know too much about the sport you are overwhelmed and even intimidated by it. I didn't have that experience with the help of Sebastian. I ended up doing a new set & driver and was beyond happy with how the session turned out. You can tell he was very knowledgeable and even offered me a few tips that helped me with my swing! Worldwide golf. LOL. Too big!!! Too little give a F#%! I bought a driver on Wednesday. Played Thursday. The driver had an obvious manufacturing issue. The finish chipped off first swing. Roger Dunn was not interested at all helping me figure out a remedy. Said all manufacturers use crappy materials these days. It would not affect the way it played. So I was stuck with it. Look I am ok with " Here is the way to contact the Manufacturer " or let us contact them and see what they say. Anything but " Sorry you just bought a car and it's cool the paint is chipping off when you shut the door. It will drive fine. Bunch of bull for sure. I will figure it out on my own. Won't be long till this store closes. The service just isn't good. North Hollywood or New Berry park are way better options. 30 year golfer 2-4 rounds a week. I come here a lot. Being the only real, retail golf shop around anymore, it's kind of your only choice. The reason for the 2 stars is, I had a simple request when I had all 13 clubs re-gripped. I asked for the logo down, and saw the gentleman put that on the ticket. When I got home I realized they put the logos up. Waiting 3 days for some re-grips is a little too long, in my opinion.
