Dr. Lim is wonderful. From his bedside manner to the care he provides, we couldn't be happier. He takes the time to get to know his patients, and their parents. He is conversational, gentle and extremely knowledgeable. He breaks down the treatment and goals in a way that is easy to understand. Dr. Lim's rates are very reasonable and he worked with us to come up with an affordable payment plan. He gave us a rate for the whole treatment, so we didn't have to worry about added expenditures along the way. His office is beautifully done, decorated to please both children and adults. When you walk in, he has video games for kids to use while waiting, but his staff is so prompt and friendly, the wait time is usually short. Head into the examination room where there are televisions over every chair for kids to either watch movies or play video games such as Angry Bird. For any annoying or painful procedures (like impressions or tightening wires), the kids don't even complain, they are distracted with the TV. There is a computer at each chair where Dr. Lim can show you what the plan is, or the progress you have made. There is a separate, private examination room for adult patients. Dr. Lim is available for emergencies and very accommodating with his schedule. He has a fun website where the kids can play with what colors for their bands to be. I had braces in Junior High. When I was told my elementary school children should be assessed, I was skeptical. But after seeing the results of the treatment, I am so glad we did not wait. In one year, my daughter had her braces on and now off, with an amazing smile. My son is still wearing braces, and month by month, you can see the transformation. We have been in to see Dr. Roger twice now. The first time when my kids were 8 years old. I loved how honest he was. He said my kids were fine for now and come back in six months. I was shocked. I guess I thought we were going to be told, oh yeah your kids need this and that...but nope not the case with him. We came back six months later and our son is still ok for now. So happy to hear that. However our daughter has an overjet and a little bit of a cross bite which I noticed when she was a baby. You could tell her top gums went much further over her bottom ones. We talked about how to correct it and my husband and I feel very confident in Dr. Roger. The price seemed like the going rate too and his office offers in house payment options with no interest for those that need it. His staff is just wonderful too. I went to Dr. Lim to find out if my daughter needed braces and left signed up for Invisalign for my crooked teeth. There was no pressure from he or his team, I actually asked them about it and didn't want to talk myself out of it so I signed up on the spot. Dr. Lim is probably the nicest medical professional I have ever had the pleasure of being involved with. He was honest and upfront about the type of treatment I would need. I was hoping for invisilign but I actually needed braces and a couple oral surgeries. I was told when I was younger that I needed surgery but I was hoping that wouldn't be the case now. Once I got my head wrapped around that I was good to go. He is gentle and friendly. He never calls me or any other patient by anything other than my name. The only bad thing I could say about his office is its a little disorganized. I switched from the Alhambra office to the Sherman Oaks one and it took 3 visits before all of my payment and medical info was transported over. Not a big issue. I told my dentist (Dr. Cajulis) that I have always wanted to fix my bite but that so far no orthodontist I had seen was confident about being able to help me. My dentist recommended Dr. Lim to me and after reading the great reviews about him on Yelp, I decided to give it a try. Dr. Lim's office is really quite amazing. There is a setup of PSPs in the waiting area (I don't play games myself but I can imagine many would enjoy it while waiting - although so far I haven't had to wait at all). Furthermore, he has television screens on the ceiling above every patient chair (even the patient chair inside his office) where you can browse through everything from Netlix and Hulu to Pandora. The office is really made for you to feel comfortable. The receptionist Maria is sweet as can be and is always very helpful. Dr. Lim is genuinely caring, kind, knowledgeable, and patient (I had a lot of questions), and he really took his time with me when he explained about my options. In fact, I felt so confident with him that I decided to do the Invisalign treatment with him right then and there. We took care of everything in that same appointment, and I have just gone back to get my first three sets of aligners. Everything has been consistently awesome, and Dr. Lim went out of his way to email me a couple of little videos that show the expected progress of my teeth. He also gave me free teeth whitening on top of it all. It is rare to find such an amazing doctor (who has such an amazing staff and such an amazing office)! When I went to get my Xrays done, we went to his wife's dental clinic (for kids) next door, which was just as warm as Dr. Lim's office and was built as a big children's playroom. My nine-year old son is completing treatment for a pronounced cross bite. He had a 3D computer model done of his mouth and jaw, then Dr. Lim explained everything clearly to me and, most importantly, my son in terms that he could understand. My son just got his braces off and his teeth look great. Dr. Lim and his office couldn't have made the entire process easier. My son never complained of pain after getting his braces adjusted. We never had a wait for his appointments, there is a free parking lot and free street parking, they have tvs and electronics for the kids. When choosing an orthodontist don't overlook these conveniences, as you will have regular appointments. We were always in and out of his office very quickly. The few occasions he had a poking wire they had him come in right away and fixed the problem. The staff is all very friendly and professional. They send text appt reminders which I found helpful. Dr Lim is well respected, knowledgeable, patient, and always happy to answer questions. His office has the newest and best equipment also. When deciding which orthodontist to use, as there are many good ones in the area, I decided on Dr Lim because his office was the most convenient without long waits, his price was lower than his competitors, and his office along with his wife's dental practice is a huge supporter of local schools. I hesitate to write this review considering the 100% positive responses until this review. My daughter had been seeing Dr. Lim for a few years. We were in a holding pattern with her care until her mouth matured a bit more. We started the second course of treatment and Dr. Lim recommended an oral surgeon for us to see to deal with her impacted tooth. Our visit to the oral surgeon left us with questions (about the oral surgeon). We ended up getting a second opinion from a very well respected periodontist who questioned Dr. Lims course of action on our daughters over crowded mouth. We ended up following his recommendation of Dr. Collons in Westwood for a second opinion. A few short months of treatment with dr. Collons and our daughters teeth are finally headed in the right direction. Dr. Collons has mastered his profession vs. the young and a bit green dr. Lim who is very nice and means well and in time may be a very good choice...but not now for us. I really didn't want to write this review but I felt morally obligated to share our experience with Dr. Lim. From my perspective Dr. Lim didnt have enough of a handle on our daughters case. read more

My son has been a patient of Dr Lim's for over a year now. I couldn't say enough positive things about both Dr. Lim as a doctor and his office staff in their efficiency and competence. My older daughter had a different orthodontist, so I have something very recent to compare. When I asked around for new recommendations, Dr Lim's name came up multiple times. Dr. Lim is always available to talk to me, the sometimes nervous mother, with patience and kindness. He will explain the process and procedures needed very clearly, making sure both my son and I understand every necessary step along the way.
