Well I decided to check this place out, being from San Francisco I am always weary of people claiming to know how to fade. The place is a little hard to find because it's in the middle of a street mall across the street from 7-11. The shop itself has been there for about 15 years and is family owned. Roger is the pioneer of the bunch and is inclusive of his two younger brothers and his sister-in-law. The shop itself is a little older and the equipment is a little dated. But what they lack in technological advances they make up sincerity and talent. Luckily, I did not have to wait. I walked right in. 7 dollars for a fade is unheard of in my opinion, unless of course you visit this bargain of a deal in Spring Valley. Roger and the other guys are good no doubt but whenever I get some of the women.. They are either spot on what I asked or real off. And my last few visits have been real off. I asked for a simple skin fade and the top of my hair cut short.. She said okay and I trusted she understood. Right away she faded one side into a skin fade and the other as a regular with the top as a comb over.. I didn't want that.. I just paid and left. And yes I tipped anyway. Best Haircut in San Diego for ONLY 6 BUCK! Yes, ONLY 6 BUCKS! This is a Pinoy owned and operated business. It is located just West of the 125 on Paradise Valley Road at the same stop light as 7-11. I think there is a Kragen Auto Parts on the same street corner as Roger's Barber Shop. But here is the kicker. I have only gotten my hair cut by two people; Roger and some other dude. Yeah, the other guy did an okay job, but I trust Roger. The place is just an average barbershop but they cut hair pretty good and for a measly 6 BUCKs and being right around the corner from my house... oh yeah. This is the only place I go now for a haircut. Expect to wait if you come in around lunch time, on the weekends, or if you want to get your hair cut by Roger himself (it is worth the wait). This place is also an excellent place to get your sons or nephews heads chopped. I've been to other places like Supercuts and some other haircut places and still, Roger always does a better job. What can I say about Roger's? This place is the best place to get your hair cut. Ive been going there for a couple of years now and I cant find a better cut. there is no bad barber here. The best thing is the vacuum on the clippers. They are not that loud and you don't get those pesky hairs poking you all the time. read more

I went here because I saw the $7 haircut sign while driving. Another selling point that I love is the vacuum they have attached to each hair clippers. It prevents hair from falling on you. Acceptable turnaround times and very economical. read more

Today, I just got a hair cut at Roger's Barbershop. The beautician/barber Auntie Amy gave me a wonderful haircut! All the other barbers are great in giving me hair cuts as well! Also, if for some reason you don't like how your hair cut turned out, you can get it recut free of charge till it's how you like it. Ok first time here. There was two barbers a gentleman and lady they where both occupied but greeted me. So the lady finished first and called me up I got to say not a bad experience the clippers they use have a suction hose connected to them which catches almost all the hair being trimmed I will be coming back. read more

I've been going here for a while since the barber place across the street raised its prices. Not very expensive and reliable.

I am extremely picky with my hair even though it's only a basic buzz cut. Usually, the ladies take their time and don't mind going over it when I ask them to. The other guys tend to rush. I can always cut my own hair but here I don't have to clean up or worry about missing a few hairs that I can't see. When they use the vacuum attached to the clippers, there is less of a mess. Sometimes, the owner buys donut holes from across the street as snacks for the customers. read more

The barber shop was okay. Just need more cleanliness to improve the quality of the barber shop. The barbers were nice and the service were okay. The bathroom is OK as well and I like to say that this shop is a great place for people that are on a budget and need a haircut. read more

Roger's Barber Shop does a good job cutting hair for only $7, they have been around for many years and the all filipino barbers here always provide great service. Roger is retired Navy ( I think a SH- Ship's Serviceman-Barber) and works with his two brothers mostly, the barber shop talk usually revolves around sports (basketball, boxing and football) Roger and his brother Fernando like to gamble and go to casinos, they like to talk about women too and Fernando always likes to crack jokes to break the ice, while Roger is mostly reserve and mumbles alot. Not a bad place to get a haircut, plus the filipina barbers always call the guys "pogi" which is handsome in tagalog which is considered a good compliment. read more

It was the weirdest experience that I had at a barber shop. The person that cut my hair was using a mirror on the opposite side of the place so I could barely see what he was doing. I also told them to please texture my hair because it is thick, unfortunately I guess they had no idea what that meant. i got a very generic hair cut and unfortunately they don't have the skills to cut hair other than your basic fade or something similar to that. If anyone has any other recommendations I would love to hear it. I use to go to a place called Vinhs Hair Salon in San Gabriel Valley. Now they know how to cut hair!!!
