Intro: Had my pool re-plastered by a local company and was very confused as to how to start it back up after the refill. A week in advance I had set up a service call with another local company that I had used previously with limited satisfaction. On the morning they were to come they were a no show. Their office personnel reached the owner by phone but gave me no answer to if/when they were showing up. By now it was 1:00, and my pool was sitting with un-treated water. Not good for a new plaster, I knew that much. I called another company and they said no way could they send someone today. I then called Roger's Pool. The woman who answered was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She knew her stuff about new pools. I'm pretty sure she sensed my panic and said she'd put me on with the manager, Mike. He said he'd leave the store and be over within the hour! Sure enough, less than an hour he came and started setting up my pool filter (it's very complicated with a hundred menus) but he patiently tried to teach me how I could operate it once he had gone. He then started testing the chemicals and gave me a throughout run-down of pool chemistry with new pools and what I need to do once he was gone. It was a ton of information. Then he got out a vacuum and proceeded to vacuum the entire pool to get out the plaster dust. We set a follow-up appointment (at my asking) in a week just to make sure things are going good. All in all he spent over an hour and a half in the hot sun working constantly. My mind was finally at ease after a stress-filled 24 hours worrying first about the filling of the pool, and then about the no-show of the other company. I learned that Mike has been with the company 20+ years and it shows. Super nice guy too. So, bottom line; I HIGHLY recommend them. They have a customer for life in me. I could add the license plate number for good measure if I really wanted to, but I'm not going to do that, I'll just speak with the manager about what employee it is directly, because I saw the man's anger management needing face. How does this company train their drivers exactly? To chase down other cars on the roadway because he didn't get his way after cutting someone off on the freeway? One of your anger management, self help needing, employee's, wanted to chase down my partner on the 101 freeway heading North, because she was driving "too slow" for him in the beginning when she was getting on the freeway. What did he decide to do? Well, he started by pulling up next to her and clearly shouting things out the window. Next, he tried to get ahead of her to cut her off, but since there was another car in the way, and that obviously pissed him off more, he decided to almost hit her while trying to get behind her so he could sit there for the next 2 to 3 miles, flashing his brights repeatedly at her while riding her bumper, so she couldn't see, potentially risking her life, and the life of others on the road in front, behind, and around her. Do your drivers go through proper training if you're going to give them a company vehicle? Doesn't seem like it. He seemed pretty comfortable and confident he wasn't getting in trouble. I honestly have never heard of your company, but just by the way your employee was driving and threatening another driver on the road, tells me all I need to know about the people you hire and your company, so much so that I would never use your services or recommend it to my 104,071 followers on social media; I'd rather tell them about this incident. read more

I've had Roger's Pool service for years and 97% of the time it's been great. Same guy most of the time cleans my pool however a different guy came out and literally did nothing what he was supposed to do but stand around. I called owner they sent out another guy and he did great also. Next I get a call saying their considering cancelling me because their guys don't want to service my pool. All I did was let them know how the fist guy they sent out didn't do their job. As a business owner myself, I want to know about issues and or my employees but I guess Rogers is okay with charging people to clean their pools when the person they send out pretends to do their job and is not. We needed to get our pool in order for the summer and I called Roger's pool service. They were recommended via NextDoor. They were busy and put us on the schedule and got us in quickly. A technician came out and cleaned our pool. He was great! Came right in and got to work. We needed to have parts ordered and once those came in they came back and promptly fixed the issue. The next day I noticed the pool wasn't circulating the water. I called them and they came right out and found the problem. Our pool has never looked so good. read more

I had to write this review after I got my last bill because I was expecting it to be REALLY high, but it wasn't. It was fair and affordable for the AMAZING job they did - ABOVE AND BEYOND. He even took extra time back at the office to call the company we got the heater from to check if any of the parts that broke were covered under our warranty! In the past we have been overcharged by local companies and that just sucks. I'm going to have to join the others who have written bad reviews about Roger's. We've been using them for seven years, and, while I appreciate the good response I get when I call the office, our service person is hapless, at best. Right now I'm waiting for him to return to our house because he shut off the pool while he was servicing it, left, and failed to shut the pool back on. It doesn't bode well for a company to keep an employee who has been complained about as much as we've complained about this guy. I hope I can find someone else to service our pool. I do not use any of the service people to come to my pool. Every time I have gone into the shop they have been super helpful with my needs. Carrie is especially sweet and really tries to help figure out the chemistry of what's going on in your pool. Water testing is free and on the spot unless they are busy, then just drop it and they'll have results to you later. They even let me return a hose that I bought too short. Awesome!! read more

Most pools in Europe are already chemical free, Sonoma County is a gorgeous, eco-aware, organic and informed land and people... Uncertain why there aren't more folks going chemical free (and no, this is not a salt pool, salt is a mineral and this is not a mineral pool regulated by chlorine either) until we discovered the scarcity of available service companies that are willing, let alone have a knowledge of green pools. After nearly 10 horrible years with Johnson Pool & Spa, we belatedly gave Rogers a chance. We wish we had switched years ago. All of the work they have done for us has been of exceptional quality and professionalism. They have made good recommendations and fixed things that Johnson was never able to fix. I've been using an enzyme product in my hot tub called Spa Perfect to clean up the oils that collect on the surface. It works fine; the only problem is that after a while it develops these small brown clumps in the bottle. They don't cause any trouble and the filter seems to take care of them, but today when I went in to Roger's to get some more, I noticed that there's a product called Leisure Time Enzyme that does the same thing. It was a little cheaper and I figured maybe it wouldn't have the brown-clump problem, so I got that instead. When I poured a little in my tub, I was overwhelmed with a sickly-sweet gardenia scent. It was horrible. Some people might want their tubs to smell like that, but I'm definitely not one of them. I could smell it from 10 feet away with the bottle closed, just coming off the tub itself, and I later found out that the tub filter stank of it after running with the stuff in the water for about one minute. Just dreadful. Don't buy it unless you want your tub, you, your towels, and everything else the tub water touches to reek of fake gardenias. So, and here's my actual point, I took it back, and the guy immediately said "Oh, hey, we're really sorry. Here, want some Spa Perfect? It's a few bucks more, but we'll call it a straight across trade." That was so very the exact right thing to say that I thought it deserved a five-star Yelp review, so here it is. I've never used the shop for anything other than buying hot tub supplies, so I can't say anything one way or another about their pool services, but I can say that their customer service is top-notch. read more

My experience with this company has been costly! Installed solar heating in 2015. Every spring when the solar was turned on it leaked on the roof. This was every year until 2 yrs ago when it was fixed properly. We were told by 2 roofers and 2 handymen that the panels were not installed correctly and were causing leaks in our roof. This year the leaks came through in 2 bedrooms. We had to put a new roof on one side of our house $6,855. Fix ceilings in 2 bedrooms, drywall cost $1,300. Painting 2 ceilings (2 coats) $1,200. Before this year th e costs incurred were, handyman costs to temporarily patch leaks$900. and handyman cost 2 x before for leaks $320. Called David to ask for help, received return call 2 days later. He told us they did not have anyone to send out and told us to call a handyman. NICE! Poor workmanship AND bad service. I feel Roger's Pool owes me some money. Beware!!!!!! read more

Found a much better pool service in the area after pool water quality broke down several times under Rogers' weekly maintenance, and when they took weeks to come by to perform what turned out to be inadequate repairs of equipment. I just moved to a house with a pool, and have never had a pool before. There were some error codes on the heater, when I tried to use it. I panicked and called at 9:00 am Monday morning for a repair request. They came out with in an hour, showed me how to work the whole pool system. Let me know that I did not need a repair, so they did not charge me for coming out. He refused to take any payment. I hadn't slept well the night before, adding up all the expenses of buying new pool equipment ! They really put my mind at ease, informed me on how to use everything, and walked me through it all. We were happy when we began with Rpgers but they have really gone downhill in the last couple of years. Complained about cleaner not brushing pool and it being green all the time Told she is a good kid though. Next week she dumped the basket from the skimmer on our lawn when the trash can was on the patio! This occurred a month ago. It had been just unclean and green for ever and I called and called. The service people were great but surely they could find better service people! Again today, she ( Shelby stated she came but I was here all day and I did not see her) I called frustrated and decided this was it! I decided to stop service. John was very kind and understanding and promised to give me the month of June free and look into this "connected" child who does not care about pools! So I called another company with excellent reviews and he can start tomorrow! He also said Is you current person female and kinda surly . Young named Shirley or something like that? I have several new customers that were hers in your area!! I hired him! I will post on him when I get to know his worth ! Beware of this service person! I called Roger's Pool for a service repair. Was told I someone would call me as they were very busy. Two weeks later I called again, was told I was scheduled the next day but no one had called to arrange. Promised a return call as soon as the "boss got in". Waited 5 hours and no call received. Had good service in past but something seems to have happened. Two weeks and three promises ... all broken promises. Couldn't even get a call back. read more

I have been purchasing supplies from the retail store for years now. Today inspired me to write a review. I called this morning 15 minutes before their official opening and was pleased when someone not only pleasantly answered the phone but also handed me over to a technician. I originally called to inquire about a new motor (roughly a $300 charge). After 5 minutes of diagnosis over the phone, the technician accurately diagnosed my need to be a part which cost me less than $40. I am always greeted by friendly folks who seem to have my interests in mind. I find the cost of items to be competitive and often cheaper than other places, including on-line offerings. read more

They sold me the wrong part for my filter TWICE and tried to blame it on me. When I called to address the issue, the manager was very rude and condescending. I returned the part and the clerk told me that they had indeed sold me the wrong piece. The manager blamed the manufacturer and offered no apology for the way she spoke to me or for my inconvenience. I will be taking my business elsewhere and advise everyone else to do the same. By far the worst customer service I have ever received. read more

Have used these guys for years. Not as a regular cleaning/maintenance service, but as the people I call if I have issues with my system. I'm done. Bad customer service. The pool tech comes by and does something but does not communicate what was done. You have to wait a day or two, realize he's not going to call, and then call the office to hunt him down. One person blames the other for why you didn't get a call back (happened several times). Their customer support model (whatever model they would like to think they have) is shot. It needs attention. They do no act as an integrated customer support team. No, it's more of an "every man for himself" type of model, i.e. the phone person blames the pool tech, the pool tech blames the people in the office, and the customer gets left out in the cold. When you call, the vibe is not "how can we help you?" and "let's get your problem resolved" and "oh I'm so sorry your service tech didn't call you back yet, let me make SURE he calls you today." No. It's more like, "oh, you again? what? the pool tech didn't call you? ok, I'll leave him a note that you called." This is far from quality customer support. The person on the phone does not relay a sense of appreciation for your ongoing business. But here's the best part. When the service tech does call you back, if you miss the call, he leaves a message, but can't/won't leave his cell # to call him back, hence, all you can do is call the office back, which means: SQUARE 1! : ) On top of all that, they just don't seem to be able to get my pool running (continual issues). This last time the problem was outright mis-diagnosed, leading me to have more problems than I should have had because the real problem didn't get diagnosed. The new pool service I got diagnosed and got me up and running again. Oh, and of course, I still paid Rogers for the service visit that was a mis diagnosis and just messed me up more. All done. The new service seems to have a tight communication between office person and service technician, and they just seem to run a tighter ship on the customer service front. read more

I was looking up Roger's Pool number on the internet, and saw their reviews on Yelp. I wish people would report good things about the business they like and not just the bad. I have been doing business with Roger's for over 10 years now, I have had to replace the motor and a few other items, they even rebuilt my pool sweeper to save me money, I needed to replace it a year later, but I knew it was not going to last, just long enough to save and purchase a new one. Usually parts, or full pool equipment lasts for a bout 7 to 10 years. At least with me it has, Carrie in the office is not only likable but very knowledgable, I have taken in pool water sample's to achieve the right chemical balance, they don't push you into their pool cleaning service they take care of their repeat customers. They test the water and tell me what chemical I need, that way I am not guessing and spending more money than I have to. Lately I purchased a solar pool cover from them, it is thicker than anything I had purchased in the past and less money. I know it will be used for a long time. I feel comfortable with them and their service, I would never go any where else. So Five Stars for them and anyone who uses them would feel the same. Sometimes a person makes a mistake and with yelp it never ends. So people report the good with the bad its only fair. read more

Today, I called Roger's Pool Service to see if they could get my solar heating up and running immediately. I knew we were heading into some great weather and I wanted to see if we could get the pool up to a reasonable temp. in time for the good weather. I spoke to Mike and explained that my solar company could not fit me in for more than a week. He said he would come right out, within half an hour, and turn my solar on at no charge. Even though we have partial service, he still did it for no charge. He even came up on the roof to install my end plugs without charging. He was totally professional and never once seemed like he was in a hurry. He showed me how to set all my pool settings for solar. I was very impressed and decided to give them a great review. Have never written a review, but need to this time. We had a sudden failure of our pump for our koi pond, after back-washing to clean for addition of new fish. Dave came right to residence after an emergency pool repair elsewhere. He arrived promptly and easily found problem. Waterfall and filters now all working perfectly. 28 year customer that has always found owners and staff responsive to pool and pond needs. We couldn't imagine ever getting better service elsewhere. Earlier this summer needed pool service after heat caused pool to start showing green. Immediate response to phone call and planned pool party was a huge success! read more

Roger's has given me nothing but polite, prompt, and effective service. I started out a novice pool owner, with a much-neglected pool filled with cloudy green algae, worms, and bugs, the pump was broken, sweeper broken, etc. They gave me hours of time for free, explaining to me everything about pool maintenance so that I could save money and maintain the pool myself, demonstrating all the necessary tasks (filters, vacuuming, chemicals etc.) on their first service call. They fixed the old, failing pump to give me a couple more years, and when that old pump finally gave up for good a few years later, they replaced it. They have worked with my weird electrical system, and old icky equipment and brought the pool to life. I get my day-to-day chemicals and advice from Leslies, which is much closer to my house, but this spring when trying to get the pool water chemicals right, I went to Leslies 4 times, and bought literally $100s of chemicals, and still didn't get it right. They were at a loss, phoning their "smart" people for advice. Then I went to Roger's, they tested the water, sold me $24 worth of chemicals, and 5 hours later my pool water is perfect. Maybe that's more a testimony to avoid Leslies for anything serious, but Roger's got it right the first time. I have never had any problem with their customer support. I call infrequently, basically when something breaks, so I'm not a top customer to them, but they always have been prompt and professional in my experience. read more
