Currently in Vancouver on a work trip and decided to go have lunch with my coworkers. We ended up here at Rogue because we liked the vibe and ambiance of this place. We sat on the outside patio, it was heated and had nice views. I ordered the sweet chili bowl and it was delicious, fresh, and healthy. Instead of coconut rice i substituted the rice for salad. I went to Rogue last night for a quick bite before a show and was really impressed with the quality of both the food and service, from when we arrived until we finished our meals. We arrived without a reservation but it wasn't needed as this place is huge and had quite a few tables available. We were seated quickly at a nice booth and proceeded to place our order. I had the Tuna Niçoise Salad and my friend had the Tuna Poke Bowl. I was actually torn between these two options so when the food arrived, we both tried each other's meal to see how the two compared. They were both really good but I really enjoyed my salad and much preferred it over the poke bowl. Ironically, the tuna in the poke bowl was much better seasoned than the tuna in the salad, but I just really loved all the other ingredients in the salad more. I think a sprinkle of some flaked salt would have made the salad perfect but there were a few salty components like the olives, to help offset the almost bland flavour of the tuna. It had a perfect sear and I loved the crust on it. The salad itself had a very nice light dressing on it, which surprisingly, I really liked. I'm not normally a fan of salad dressing but this one was really tasty. The restaurant was busy but not at capacity so even though there were a lot of people talking, it wasn't too loud so we could still have a conversation without having to shout at each other. Rogue bar and kitchen is an amazing restaurant right at waterfront station in downtown Vancouver. It has pretty high ceiling and chandeliers as part of its ambience and great seating and lightning. It gives you a bit of royal experience in a bar. Staff is very nice and accomodating for your order and they keep on checking on you after sometime which is great service. I ordered basil tomato soup with croutons here . It was pretty thick and more like a red pasta sauce with herbs. A few spoons and I was pretty full so it was dense and heavy. I have had lighter soups in the past at other places so this was pretty new to me. I really loved the ambience and service and next time I am going to order something different. It's definitely on the pricey end but not too much as well. read more

We came here for a quick snack after touring the city for the day. The poutine and the flatbread were nothing special but hit the spot for what we were looking for. The service was where everything went wrong. We got seated right away and the waitress took our order. And then after that - nothing. The staff here are seriously so kind, the ambiance was lovely too (it's pretty nice and spacious inside), except having to hide from the laser beams of the sun. No biggie I just scooted to the middle of the booth. The food,I hate to say was pretty bad. No flavor, even the drinks. The fish was the worst. Tiny bit of fish and 80% batter. The coleslaw I had to literally spit out. It was so bad and tasted salty. The chicken strips were okay as far as the actual chicken was juicy and thick. The breading and flavor was not great. I didn't try it, but my daughter hated the chicken bao. She's ordered that at other restaurants before and usually loves it. Nothing was fresh or flavorful. Luckily the manager is the sweetest thing on earth and helped with some suggestions that worked out much better. She suggested Caesar salad and flatbread. Both were pretty good in my opinion. Much better than the other dishes. Just be aware that it's not a typical Caesar salad. It is a wedge salad with flavorful dressing, bread crumbs and roasted garlic. I love garlic, so I was pretty happy about that. Overall we left happy, because the manager and our waiter took such great care of us. Saw the reviews, surprised with the result. I was walking around Gastown at night, got hungry and testing my luck by having my dinner here. Ambiance was unique kinda reminds me New York bars. Food? To be perfectly honest, pretty awesome. I love the bacon burger, the flatbread and the chicken tenders! Dumpling's pretty interesting too. Service was good enough, I think this place is really good for friends and family (not for kids though). Perfect pairing with BEER! The downside was the restroom was downstairs and there were teenagers smoking there. But overall I would still come back for their food. read more

Our waiter was on break so a lady took our full order in the meantime but she only submitted our drinks and appetizer. We started on our drinks and appetizers. Our waiter then came back and continued to check up on us (which was good) but it wasn't until we noticed a table that came long after us got their food that we asked our waiter about our order and that's when he noticed that the dinner wasn't submitted. My friend and I came here for a quick bite to eat after our first choice turned us away. Located inside the train station Rogue Kitchen was lovely. We were seated in the far back where there wasn't a lot of noise, which I appreciated. Our server was wonderful. She was cheery, upbeat, and attentive. While the cocktails were nothing of note the pizza was delightful. It was soft, doughy goodness with juicy tomatoes and a pleasant amount of cheese. I've passed this place almost daily as it's right inside Waterfront Station. We went during late night Happy Hour. It wasn't busy, but seating was only available in the lounge. The Bartender took our drink orders, I had the Grand Margarita salted, it was 8.99$ - ( 2$ off as per HH ) It sounded much better then it actually was. It was just Meh. Only one oz... My Husband had a few beers. Nothing to write home about. The food itself was not too bad. I had the Thai beef salad. I liked it , but it really lacked dressing. It didn't come with any bread or anything which would of been nice. My husband had a Chicken Burger that had cheese bacon & pineapple on it. Instead of Fries he had the Seafood chowder. He liked his food as well, but the problem was after we were done, and $85 later we were still hungry.... Service was decent, but they were closing up so we saw a number of different people, we never knew exactly who our server was, thus I was unable to ask for extra dressing or order any additional food to take home, or even check out desert. Now, since you've gone there all week, why not just TGIF with them. The bistro tables are perfect for you and a bro to watch the game behind the bar. It's a god vibe. You will feel comfortable there. The food is fantastic. For me I went a bit Rouge and grabbed the CAJUN SALMON RISOTTO: grilled cajun salmon over a sun-dried tomato risotto, topped with a prawn & cajun spiced cream sauce, fresh vegetables The restaurant is a culinary art gallery. It has that old west salon feel. Stick around for dessert and witness a shootout. The service is textbook, worthy of a masterclass. Now, is there is only one other restaurant in the Gastown 'hood that comes close to it in my humble op (and I've been around the blocks). What's crazy is the only competition is right next door, to its right (Steamwork). Yet, maybe this is more of a Lennon / McCartney competition, where they bring out the best in each other. I enjoy happy hour at this venue. The service is good whether you are sitting inside or the patio. There are heaters in the patio area. Great venue regardless of dining solo or with a friend/friends. The happy hour menu has interesting options such as bao. I enjoyed them very much as well as the nachos. I would probably say the bao is something I would order again. We made reservations for 6 on a Saturday for 3:00pm. The place was really busy and understaffed (as are a lot of places). We were sat immediately and then waited almost 20 minutes for someone to check on us. The manager came to check on us and he was overwhelmed (totally understandable). He took our orders and told us he would bring water ASAP. He was not overly friendly and we felt a bit rushed. I ordered the TOFU BANG BANG 2.0 (crispy tofu, yams, snap peas, bok choy, cauliflower, red peppers & pineapple in a coconut curry broth, topped with shaved coconut & served with coconut rice and fresh naan - it was either $22.99 or $23.99). I was very disappointed by this meal. The 3 pieces of tofu was not crispy. There were no snap peas either. The naan was not very fresh and a bit soggy. The portion was huge but their was no real flavor. It was mild at best and pretty disappointing. I would have said something at the time but our server did not come back to our table till the other people at our tables meals were done. Not the usual experience from Rogue. read more

What a great night! Came here for a bachelorette party, and everything was so yummy! Drinks were good, food was amazing, and they had an incredible vegan selection! I got the Tofu Goddess Bowl, which was great (very similar to the tofu bowl at cactus club), and my other vegan friend got the Tofu Bang Bang 2.0, which looked great. The vegan taco also looked great! Shay was our server, and she was such a good sport! (We were playing bachelorette games and she took everything like a champ!) This restaurant and bar is, located at the Waterfront Station, very close to Canada Place in Vancouver. As someone who lives on the West Coast, and enjoys coastal cruises, I am traveling to Vancouver at least a couple of times every year. Rogue Kitchen has ended up on my list of must-stops. This restaurant/bar always has a number of decent taps, many local or provincial, and I always find a couple of brews I particularly enjoy. The menu is solid. I have not yet had the burger, a situation which I intend to remedy soon, but there are a couple of plates I really enjoy. The last two visits I have very much enjoyed the Korean Chicken Tacos. Very nice flavor profile. Pro tip: the standard tortilla is flour, but you have the option of switching to corn tortillas. Another tip: check out the happy hour menu. The timing has never quite worked for me, but a couple of the dishes I would order are less expensive at that time. The service has always been good, and the patio outside is delightful if you are graced with good weather. I will absolutely be returning to this establishment in the future. read more

After several visits here, I can highly recommend Rogue. The food, beer, wine, and spirits are excellent quality. The poutine and lobster Mac cheese are excellent choices to accompany your beverage. I continue to be astonished by the reasonable price on full bottles. For example, a full bottle of Veuve Clicquot Brut French champagne is priced at $90 CAD ($66 US)!! At Any higher end bar in the states that will set you back $125 US minimum. The rotating seasonal drafts are better than most places in the area. It's never a struggle for me to find an American style IPA here that satisfies. Value priced, luxurious surroundings, excellent waitstaff. Highly recommend. read more

Love the food in the happy hour and the beer. We ordered flatbread, sweet chili cauliflower, Gangnam sliders and half plate nachos and ordered IPA beer. All of the items that we had were tasty and were served hot and crispy. Beer was chilled and tasted good. Had to make them twice. So chewy and salty. The drinks are just ok and very over priced for sure. They have a full bar with beer and wine. Expensive even for happy hour. The staff is helpful and friendly. I am not a fan of the food at all..... Upper class bar with a business men and women everywhere. Not a laid back feel at all. Not a great menu for happy hour. My husband and I primarily came for drinks here while we were killing time. Hostess didn't look too happy to be there. Sat us down and it took the waiter a bit to take our drink orders. We never saw them again after that, which surprises me since it wasn't busy. An hour goes by and a new waiter comes over. I met a fellow Yelper here for Happy Hour and I was surprised and impressed by how lovely the restaurant interior was. And huge! It's quite dramatic, with high ceilings and soaring chandeliers. And an upstairs mezzanine of sorts. Very dramatic, almost operatic an interior. The HH menu was one of the most extensive of any I've seen. Not the cheapest, granted, but definitely the most extensive. Especially if you like beer (which I don't), but there were quite a few wines available too, and a very discounted Highball. Lots of food choices, too. I had a glass of sangria. It wasn't discounted for HH but it was really good. My friend and I shared the Dip Trio which was delicious (various hummus dips and a wonderful naan bread) and the Cauliflower Veggie which was the hit of the night. Really tasty! Despite how large this restaurant is, it's clearly super popular, so I strongly recommend making a reservation if you choose to dine here. First time with other 5 people for Happy Hour and our experienced was very good. The place is at at the Waterfront SkyTrain ststion and it was very nice, very spacious and I love the interiors. The place is perfect for conversations as the music is not too loud. Our server Nick is very friendly and entertaining. I wish all servers has that kind of attitude. Very lively and easy to talk with. The food tastes are great and cheap for happy hour. The Fishbowl drinks are awesome. Will definitely go back here and highly recommended. read more

At the end of the day, I go out for good food, this was not that. The calamari tasted very different from traditional calamari - I don't know the spices were used but I did not enjoy. I would not buy for $18, portion size was small. Duck wings were actually gross. I didn't eat them. The meat didn't taste right and I normally enjoy duck. Once again, the flavouring was just too much and I didn't enjoy. The drinks had barely any taste, $12-$16 for watery drinks with questionable amounts of alcohol. The ambiance was nice though but not worth coming back. Service was pretty good. I would not recommend or come back. read more

Went there for holiday lunch with colleagues. They have separate rooms available for larger groups. Servers were attentive and polite. Holiday set menu had great choices. Their wild salmon steak entree with veges on the side was fair size and delish. They also accommodated by providing an alternative dessert choice (a strawberry gelato!) than what was on the holiday menu for someone thats lactose-intolerant. Parking lot next to the building was large but as is for other downtown parking not economical. $16/hr and can pay/top-up by credit card from the machine. We honestly just needed somewhere warm and dry to hunker down for an hour or so, while waiting for our brewery tour meet-up time to come around. There aren't many options within Waterfront Station, and neither of us really wanted to hit the bar on the corner (given that we'd be spending 3 hours of the night on a brewery tour...), so we decided to get something light to eat (and a pre-beer beer) at Rogue. We were given the smallest little table near the bar, which barely fit us, our two beers (had to prep for the night somehow), our plates, and the mass of other stuff that all restaurants insist on putting on tables. The waitress - while not the absolute worst we experienced while in Vancouver (that distinction goes to our last meal in the city) - certainly wasn't what you'd call available, friendly, or good. She left us for long stretches of time, never stopping by to ask if we wanted refills on beer or water, or checking on us to see how we were doing. We even had to flag the bartender down to get utensils with which to eat our meals. I'm getting ahead of myself, though. We did end up ordering a couple of beers to start - a Martzen for him and a cream ale for me - while deciding on what we wanted for the "soaking layer" (the layer of food we wanted to have in our stomachs before heading out on the brewery tour) ;) I went with the tomato soup, and my husband got the Caesar salad. Simple enough, right? A soup and a salad? Except that it took over 40 minutes for our food to get to us, and when it did, our waitress just dumped the plates and bolted. No "enjoy!", no "hey, you might need utensils", no "is there anything else I can get you?" The soup was decent, and it came with bread for dipping, which is never wrong. My husband kind of enjoyed his salad (it was smaller than expected, and he said some of the lettuce looked like it had seen better days). We did end up wanting to add a beer a piece to our bill, but alas, the waitress never came back, so we made do with what we had consumed, squared up our bill and headed back out to meet up with our tour guide. They get a star for the hostesses and bartender, and a star for being warm and dry and an otherwise cold and drizzly day. Other than that, I'd pass in the future. read more

She had to keep coming back to our table to let us know that they were out of the menu items that we ordered. She should of known what was available and what was not. She was nice but misinformed. I would put some of the blame on management for not having the menu items in stock. The food and drinks we did finally get were good even though it was not our first 2 choices. Just seared perfectly. On the side, I had the tomato soup and it had a kick to it. Not bad. It was made fresh. The decor is very clean and nice. Good food, fun atmosphere in the patio area, great for people watching and relaxing on a nice day. I was craving a cider, and surprisingly, they only had two options, although the choices for beer on tap were endless. The one I had was okay, dry and just typical. The slushy margarita my partner had was very good taste-wise, but I swear there was no traces of tequila. It would've been nearly perfect with an extra shot of tequila. The Margherita pizza was fresh, just how it should be, but the amount of basil on it was laughable. I'm sorry, the pizza has two main ingredients aside from cheese, I'd like to see legit basil leaves on it, not thin shavings. Again, with that little detail done correctly, it would've been perfect. Now, the sparerib poutine was gooooooooood! Perfectly crispy fried, salty ribs meat and gravy, not overly greasy/heavy. I could not stop inviting my fork into my man's plate.
