Ashley brought out a tire rim they used for a step stool and it worked perfectly! She even let us take it with us so we could do errands while they did maintenance on the van. A buddy rode back to Sundance to pick up a tractor battery from an auto parts store. Riding down Cleveland ST, he saw a sign for Woody's HD repair! They had a battery in stock, and he brought it to me and I was on my way. Unfortunately, 20 miles down the road, the battery and engine light came back on, and I knew I had an electrical issue and immediately pulled over. I knew I could not ride the 30 miles back to the shop, so I used the receipt and called Woody's. They sent a trailer and picked me up. Woody's was jammed as this was Sturgis Bike Week. They had correctly identified a burned out stator and had (1) in stock. 2 hours later, I was back on the road and the rest of my trip was without further mechanical issues. Erica, the shop manager and wife of the owner, was the nicest, most understanding person I have ever met. She was very reassuring that my bike was in good hands and would be fixed. The prices were very fair, and Justin, the owner and tech, was very capable. This is an OASIS in the middle of nowhere (as far as a broke down bike is concerned), and all of us felt lucky to be is such good hands. Another surprise was that Deluxe HD was also located across the street (new shop), but I much prefer Independent repair shops.

We stopped in here to get a trailer tire replaced. After they replaced the tire on our spare rim,…read morethey went out to put it back on the trailer. But me being me, I'd given them the beat-up spare to replace, because I was going to swap it out with a tire that had a slow leak. The young man looked at my slow-leaking tire, turned to me and said "It's probably the valve stem. Those high-pressure valve stems suck. Pull it around back and I'll see what I can do." We pulled it around back, and a couple of squirts with soapy water confirmed it was the valve stem that was the problem. It took all of ten minutes for him to pull the tire off, replace the stem, and slap it back on the trailer. So I now have two good tires on the trailer, plus a brand new spare, all at a good price, and all done within half an hour on a Saturday. Holy moly people. This place rocks.

We showed up a day early. He allowed us to overnight in his parking lot until the next day. From the moment we met Scott to turn in our RV, he turned out to be very personable and reassuring. He told us to go and do the "tourist thing" in the Black Hills area (Deadwood/Mt Rushmore) while he and his crew did the inspection and repair. He pulled our RV out of his garage which allowed us to overnight on his property another night while he waiting on parts expected the next day. The parts arrived, he completed repairs (plus an oil change late on day 2 and allowed us to overnight on his property from where we could resume our travels the next morning.
